Quick AnswerWe survey buried cables, pipes and ducts for works under municipal corporations, development authorities and utility boards. Each authority page explains its permission route and drawing format, and we deliver CAD and GIS layers that the department can file.

Why each authority gets its own page

Every road-owning body in India has its own rules for digging, marking and record-keeping. A municipal corporation, a development authority and a jal board each ask for different drawings before a road-cutting permission is granted, and each keeps its own map of what already lies under the footpath.

Each page below explains how we plan an underground utility survey for that authority's works: which permission portal or office is involved, what the department usually wants in the drawing, and how a GPR and cable-locator survey fits their approval cycle.

How we work with an authority or its contractor

  1. Scope from the tender or work order: the stretch, the depth band that matters and the drawing format the department accepts.
  2. Permission and traffic plan: the survey runs under the contractor's road-cutting or work permit, with marking agreed with the field engineer.
  3. Field survey: GPR lines and electromagnetic locating over the full corridor, with every detected service painted on the ground.
  4. Drawing and report: CAD and GIS layers in the authority's coordinate system, plus a short report the engineer can attach to the file.

Every authority named on this page has given us GPR survey jobs, some through its own work orders and others through the firms building on its land. Each scan is run on radar units the company owns, by staff on its payroll.

What a GPR survey gives a road-owning authority

A ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey shows what already lies under a road before a department approves a cut, a drain or a flyover. Radar pulses travel into the ground and return from pipes, cables, ducts and voids, so the crew can mark each line with its position and an estimated depth. Electromagnetic locators then trace the metal services, and chambers are opened where a depth must be confirmed.

For an engineering department this means fewer surprises after the work order. Utility shifting can be priced at tender stage, road-cutting permissions can carry a drawing that other utilities can check, and the record stays useful for the next contractor who opens the same stretch.

Drawings and data an authority can file

Every job ends with a CAD drawing, a PDF set and, where asked, a GIS layer that sits on the department's own base map. Lines are split by service type, each with a confidence note, and unconfirmed sections are flagged instead of being joined across gaps. Where levels matter, our DGPS and total station teams tie the utility lines to the project's survey control, so drain gradients, pier positions and chainages share one frame.

Rates follow the published card: ₹24 per metre for a standard GPR survey and ₹32 per metre with an L-section, with a minimum order of ₹50,000 in Delhi NCR and ₹1,00,000 elsewhere. GST is extra, and long programmes earn 25%, 40% or 50% off above 100, 500 and 1,000 km.

Frequently asked questions

Do you apply for the road-cutting permission?

We work under the permission held by the client or contractor, and our liaison team can help prepare the documents the department asks for.

Can the drawing match the authority’s GIS?

Yes. We deliver in the coordinate system and layer format the department uses, usually DWG plus SHP or KMZ.

Do you work directly for these authorities?

Yes. Departments listed here have issued survey jobs to us in their own name, and their road and pipeline contractors hire us as well.

When can your team start on an authority job?

Our people live in the cities on this list, so a scan can begin the day you confirm or the day after at the latest, Delhi NCR included. If travel has to be charged, the quote shows it as its own line.
