HSVP GPR Survey for Haryana Sector Roads and Services
GPR scans and utility drawings for HSVP sector roads, master services and tenders, run by our own crew from Sector 41, Faridabad.
Quick AnswerBefore an HSVP sector road or open space is opened up, an HSVP GPR survey logs each buried cable, pipe and duct that the contractor could strike. Ground penetrating radar (GPR) sweeps and live-line tracing feed a drawing built around your tender or work order, prepared from our Sector 41 base. The file formats are listed under CAD and GIS utility mapping at a glance.
What does an HSVP utility survey cover?
It maps the underground utilities inside an HSVP sector or along its master roads, so new work can be designed and dug without strikes. That covers supply mains, sewer and storm lines, power cables, telecom ducts and, in newer sectors, gas pipes. Every line on the drawing carries its offset, an estimated depth and, where traceable, its owning agency.
HSVP, the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, was known as HUDA until 2017 and plans urban sectors across the state under the HUDA Act of 1977. In sectors laid out in the 1980s and 1990s, old sheets seldom show the patches, house connections and road lifts added since. One punctured main or cut feeder costs a contractor many times the survey fee, plus lost weeks.
Which bodies own the services beneath a Faridabad sector road?
Often more than one body, and knowing early saves weeks. HSVP developed internal sector services in Faridabad, but MCF and FMDA now run large parts of the network, and power, telecom and gas sit with their own utilities. GPR, a geophysical tool that reads reflected signals from radar waves, finds the lines; records tell us the owners.
| Service | First contact | On our drawing |
|---|---|---|
| Sector supply and sewerage | HSVP or MCF, by handover | Alignment, depth, manholes, valves |
| Bulk supply and trunk drains | FMDA or HSVP | Alignment, size where visible, chambers |
| Power cables (HT/LT) | Distribution company | Runs, joints, crossing depth |
| Telecom ducts and OFC | Each operator | Duct banks, chambers, handholes |
| Gas pipelines | City gas distributor | Route, markers, crossing depth |
Table note: if FMDA holds the master line, our page on FMDA utility survey for your site covers that side.
Once a sector road is handed to the corporation, field work stays identical but the contacts and forms differ; see how long an MCF utility survey takes.
How do Faridabad's soils change the scan?
Soil sets how far the radar reaches, and HSVP's Faridabad sectors sit on two contrasting kinds. On the Yamuna side of the old Mathura Road, a high water table soaks up the signal and damp clay masks deeper pipes. Towards the Aravalli the ground is stony and dry; the radar goes deeper, but boulders throw back clutter that looks like small buried objects.
For these soils, every ground penetrating radar survey gets its own antenna frequency, spacing and cross-line plan. When radargrams blur, metallic pipes and cables are traced by locator, and depth is checked at a lifted manhole cover. More on the city's ground is on GPR survey in Faridabad.
Where does the survey fit in the permission process?
Before you apply, not after. Approval for a sector road cut moves faster when the file fixes the trench or bore line and every service it crosses. Forms and fees depend on the road owner and get revised, so this page gives no figures; our road-cutting article for Faridabad is a quick primer.
- Desk check: share the sector plan, the alignment and any old drawings.
- Field scan: radar runs along the road and across each side lane while the locator follows live cables.
- Marking: sprayed lines or pegs that match the drawing.
- Drawing: utilities in plan, with depths and a crossing schedule.
- Revisit: if the alignment shifts, only the new stretch is rescanned.
What do HSVP tenders need from a survey?
A clean utility layer the design consultant can drop into the road or service drawing. For tender and DPR work we deliver AutoCAD and GIS files on your coordinate system, an Excel schedule of the utility data and photographs of each opened chamber. Some master-road tenders ask for a confidence grade on every service; we then follow see SUE survey practice and mark each line from records-only to verified.
What does an HSVP utility survey cost?
We price by the metre of route scanned, with a minimum order and discounts for long jobs.
- Standard GPR scan: ₹24 per metre
- L-section (longitudinal profile with depths): ₹32 per metre
- Minimum order: ₹50,000 in Delhi NCR, which covers Faridabad; ₹1,00,000 elsewhere in Haryana and India
- Whole-order discount: 25% above 100 km, 40% above 500 km, 50% above 1,000 km
A 2.5 km standard scan along a sector road comes to ₹60,000, while a 1 km stretch is billed at the ₹50,000 minimum. GST is extra on every figure. For an HSVP sector in Faridabad or nearby, field work opens on the day you confirm, or at most the next business day.
What should you send before the site visit?
The location, the length, the purpose and any records. A Google pin or KMZ is enough to start. Say whether the drawing goes into a tender file, an MCF road-cut application or a dig plan, as the layers and depth notes differ.
- The sector layout, even a faded HUDA-era print
- Your planned trench, bore or widening line
- Any service records, rough or not
- Permitted road hours and traffic limits
Old records guide where extra cross-lines go but are never taken as the answer; every line is checked on the ground.
Green belts and sector dividing roads
On paper, HSVP services run in set corridors along sector dividing roads and green belts. On the ground, many have wandered into the belt or under a plot frontage. We fix the sector corners by DGPS and measure the belt edge, road edge and every chamber with a total station. Each traced pipe or cable then shows against the planned corridor as well as the kerb. Storm channels in the belts get levels too, and a misplaced main becomes obvious before an excavator finds it. See DGPS sector control and measuring belts and corridors.
Who does GPR work on HSVP sectors?
Staff engineers from our Sector 41 office, using company-owned radars, do every HSVP job. Since 2003 the firm has kept all 58 radars in its own name and sent no sector job to an outside gang. ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 certificates back its systems. HSVP has given us work orders directly, and sector contractors, consultants and plot allottees hire us for their construction projects too.

Frequently asked questions
Is HSVP the same as HUDA?
Yes. Haryana Urban Development Authority was renamed Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran in 2017. Older drawings and files may still carry the HUDA name.
Do you work in HSVP sectors outside Faridabad?
Yes. HSVP has sectors across Haryana, and we take work in all of them. Outside Delhi NCR the minimum order is ₹1,00,000.
Can you find a pipe that is not on any drawing?
Often, yes. Radar picks up unrecorded buried utilities, and the locator traces live metallic lines. Plastic lines buried in damp clay are the toughest, so a trial pit settles any doubtful crossing.
What about a plot instead of a road?
For an allottee's plot we scan the frontage and the area to be built on. District-wide pipe and cable work has its own page: utility line survey in Faridabad.
How soon will I get the drawing?
For two or three kilometres of sector road, the drawing follows a few days after field work ends. On a long corridor the GPR data is issued section by section, so designers begin sooner.
Will the services be shown on the sector road itself?
Yes. Utility lines and crossings are painted or pegged on the HSVP carriageway before the crew leaves.
