Quick AnswerAn MC Panipat GPR survey maps the water, sewer, drain, power, telecom and gas lines along a corporation road before work starts. We run ground penetrating radar (GPR) across the whole corridor, building line to building line, not only the trench line. The design can then move without a fresh survey. See what we do: utility corridor mapping.

What does an MC Panipat utility survey deliver?

A measured drawing of every buried service along your road, with depths, chambers and crossings marked. The contractor plans bores and trenches from it, the consultant builds tender drawings on it, and the site engineer uses its paint marks to steer excavators off live lines. An MC Panipat utility survey comes first on a road, drain or pipeline job, ahead of design.

Panipat sits about halfway from Delhi to Karnal on NH-44, in the NCR's Haryana sub-region. It is known for textiles, from handloom furnishings to recycled yarn, and hosts the Indian Oil refinery and the Panipat thermal power station. Dense town, industrial clusters and large installations shape the underground utilities we find.

Why map the whole corridor instead of one trench line?

Designs move, and a narrow scan must be repeated each time they do. A widening drawing often shifts the new drain or main by a metre or two after review. Mapping the corridor once, wall to wall, gives a base that survives design changes. Clashes appear on the drawing, shifting quantities are estimated early, and one file serves every party.

The corridor drawing is built as a layered file, one layer per service type. You can see utility mapping for how those layers are set up and handed over.

Which services run under Panipat roads, and how do we find them?

Buried lineHow we detect itWhere Panipat has it

Table note: a fuller comparison of these methods is in the Mezux guide: Underground Utility Detection Methods.

What is different about Panipat's industrial areas?

More private lines, fewer records. Textile units, dye houses and processing plants have added their own supply, effluent and power connections, many laid by the unit's own contractor across public roads at unrecorded angles. On corporation drain or sewer projects there, we scan tighter cross-lines and watch for effluent pipes, which can be shallow and fragile.

Near the refinery and thermal station, large pipelines belong to those operators and fall under their safety rules, so work nearby needs their permission as well as the road owner's. We map to the boundary you are cleared for and show operator assets as reported, not surveyed, unless allowed to scan them.

How do we run a corridor survey in Panipat?

In five steps, and the client sees the first utility maps before the full route is finished. GPR here acts as a geophysical sounding tool: each radar pulse returns from pipes and cables, and the GPR data builds into a cross-section.

  1. Route and records: share the alignment, chainages and old drawings; we fix the corridor width with you.
  2. Grid scanning: close cross-lines plus long lines on each side.
  3. Tracing: a locator on metallic lines, a sonde through empty ducts.
  4. Verification: chamber openings and, where allowed, trial pits.
  5. Drawing in stretches: CAD and GIS layers per stretch, then the full route.

For the city-wide picture and other Panipat sites, here are utility line survey in Panipat details. If your route needs road crossings without open cuts, we can add a pre-excavation scan at each bore pit.

What should a tender drawing for a Panipat road show?

Enough for a bidder to price utility shifting and protection without walking every metre. For a corporation tender, quantities can be read straight off the drawing.

  • A plan of every service's depth, type and, where visible, rough size
  • A schedule of crossings by chainage against the proposed alignment
  • A clash list of each point where new work meets an existing service
  • A confidence note per line: traced, scanned or only reported
  • Photographs of opened chambers, keyed to the drawing

The confidence note matters. A line traced end to end with a locator beats one inferred from a single radar crossing. The note also protects the contractor if an uncertain line turns up elsewhere.

Does a fibre or gas route need RoW as well?

Yes. A survey drawing supports right-of-way approval but does not replace it. Network operators apply to the corporation, state PWD or highway authority with the route, method and restoration plan. A clear crossing schedule shortens the review. Panipat follows the stages laid out on our page on RoW permission in Delhi NCR.

Strip survey for road widening

Corridor mapping from building line to building line is only half a widening survey; the designer also needs frontages, levels and roadside features. On Panipat roads we add a total station strip survey of shop fronts, poles, trees, culverts and road levels, fixed with DGPS so each sheet joins the next. The buried utilities then sit in the same frame as the encroachment line and new carriageway edge. Moving the design by a metre needs no second visit. See DGPS for widening jobs and strip survey with a total station.

What does it cost, and who does the work?

Panipat pays the same as any other NCR city. Standard GPR scanning is ₹24 per metre and an L-section with depth profile is ₹32 per metre. Panipat is in the NCR, so the minimum order is ₹50,000; elsewhere in India it is ₹1,00,000. Long whole orders earn 25% off above 100 km, 40% above 500 km and 50% above 1,000 km. GST is extra.

Profiling a 6 km road-and-drain corridor as an L-section costs 6,000 × ₹32 = ₹1,92,000 plus GST. Send the alignment through the quote form for Panipat to receive a written scope.

Mezux staff carry out each ground penetrating radar survey in Panipat with radars from the company's fleet of 58, and no stretch is outsourced. The firm has done this work since 2003 under ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. MC Panipat has been a direct client, as have road contractors, DPR consultants and gas and telecom operators on its corridors. For MC Panipat utility mapping, the quote form above is the quickest start.

Frequently asked questions

How wide is a typical corridor scan?

From boundary wall to boundary wall on most city roads. On wide roads we agree a narrower band around the proposed works.

Can you map lines inside a textile unit?

Yes. We scan the yard and the route to the road, which helps when shifting connections.

Do you scan over refinery or power station pipelines?

Only where the operator has cleared the work. Otherwise we show their assets from records and keep our scan to the permitted area.

What coordinate system will the drawing use?

Your project system if you have one; otherwise a standard UTM grid, so the file lines up with other survey data.

How long does a 5 km corridor take?

Data collection takes a few days on city roads, depending on traffic and access. Drawings follow stretch by stretch.

Is night work possible on busy roads?

Yes, if agreed beforehand. The quote shows traffic management and any night shifts as separate items.

Can a topographic or levels survey be added?

Yes. It can go in the same quote if your design needs road levels as well as utility lines.
