Cyberabad Municipal Corporation GPR Survey for HDD Routes
Duct-bank drawings, HDD bore checks and radar work for Madhapur, Miyapur and Kompally roads under the civic body set up in February 2026.
Quick AnswerA Cyberabad Municipal Corporation GPR survey shows an operator or contractor every duct, main, feeder and gas pipe obstructing a planned trench or bore. It covers Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur. The body is only months old, so road ownership is settled before any ground penetrating radar (GPR) scanning starts. Graded deliverables are covered in more about SUE survey.
Which roads fall under the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation?
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation covers Hyderabad's western and north-western growth belt, split into the Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur zones. GO Ms No. 55 created it on 11 February 2026 by splitting the former GHMC, giving it 76 wards in 16 circles. Circles include Madhapur, Miyapur, Narsingi, Moosapet, Nizampet, Kompally, Jeedimetla, Patancheru and Medchal. (Sources: Deccan Chronicle, 11 February 2026; NewsMeter, 11 February 2026.)
Cyberabad has long been the name of a police commissionerate; this is a separate civic body. Ward numbers may change before the first council election, so confirm the current ward with the zone office. A common law for the three new bodies, the Core Urban Region (Integrated Governance) Bill, passed the Telangana Assembly on 12 September 2026. The split was challenged in the High Court in February 2026, so we confirm the current position on every job. (Sources: The News Minute, 12 September 2026; The South First, 20 February 2026.)
What makes a Cyberabad Municipal Corporation utility survey different?
Density of new services. A Cyberabad Municipal Corporation utility survey turns up far more fibre than an old-city scan, because operator after operator has laid ducts beside the IT roads of Madhapur and Gachibowli. Duct banks run three or four abreast in places, beside HMWSSB mains, HT feeders to data halls and gas pipes in newer layouts. Most were added in the last fifteen years and never drawn on a shared record.
Some IT-park clients want a confidence grade on every line, following subsurface utility engineering quality levels; more about SUE survey sets out the grades.
How do we survey for an HDD crossing?
The radar band is set wider than the planned bore, and each service the drill head will cross is given a depth. Trenching an arterial road here is rarely welcome, so much new fibre and power goes in by horizontal directional drilling.
Launch and receiving pits get scanned before anything else; digging one straight into a duct bank is how many drilling jobs in this corridor go wrong on day one. Our method is set out in details on HDD route survey.
Does the ground in western Hyderabad help or hurt radar?
Mostly it helps. Granite country helps this geophysical method, because high frequency radar waves keep their strength and return sharp reflected signals. The area sits on granite under dry, sandy soil, which lets those waves travel further than in wet clay. Shallow rock shelves push services into thin cuts, and made ground around lakes and old quarries scatters the signal with rubble. City-wide notes sit in the details of GPR survey in Hyderabad.
Cyberabad jobs at a glance
| Job type | Typical location | Handed over |
|---|---|---|
| Operator fibre route | Service roads of the IT corridor | Duct banks drawn, with a crossing list |
| Bore under an arterial | Junctions at Kukatpally or Miyapur | Pit check and bore-path profile |
| Pre-piling plot scan | Office campuses and gated layouts | Services shown on the site plan |
| Pipe check in an estate | Jeedimetla and its neighbours | CAD layout of pipes and cables |
Table note: roads still under the core body are dealt with in getting a GHMC Hyderabad utility survey done right.
Where does the survey sit in permission and tender work?
At the start, before the cutting or boring request goes in. The work-order holder applies, and our sheet backs the file with the route and each crossing. Cyberabad's procedures are still being written, so fees and forms are left to its zone offices. The detailed guide explains each stage. Beyond Uppal to the east, these crews also serve as our Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation utility survey team.
What should you send before we mobilise?
Three things scope a Cyberabad job: where it runs, why it is being surveyed and what drawings exist. A KMZ or a few map pins gives the length, and the purpose sets the detail. A fibre operator needs crossing depths at every junction, while a builder before piling needs the plot edge cleared. Bore diameter, permitted hours and your coordinate system help as well.
Earlier as-builts guide extra cross-lines, but a line is drawn only after radar or locator utility detection confirms it. Where no records exist, the band is widened and the quote states this, so the price stays fixed.
How is a Cyberabad job priced?
Metres scanned set the price, and no Cyberabad project is billed below ₹1,00,000. Standard GPR scanning costs ₹24 per metre; an L-section with depths costs ₹32 per metre. On big programmes the whole order is discounted: 25% above 100 km, 40% above 500 km and 50% above 1,000 km. GST is charged extra.
An L-section of 12 km on a corridor road totals ₹3,84,000. For 150 km of fibre at the standard rate, ₹36,00,000 on paper falls to ₹27,00,000 with the 25% discount. Our home-based Hyderabad surveyor covers the western belt and reaches site at once, never later than one business day after the order. Travel or set-up, if billable, is a separate quotation line.
Do fibre routes in the IT corridor get as-built coordinates?
They can. After a bore or trench, our surveyors record the duct route with coordinates for the next operator. HITEC City and Gachibowli verges carry ducts from several operators, many recorded only as hand sketches. Each handhole, joint chamber and bore end is tied to control set with DGPS surveying around Cyberabad. Along kerbs and under flyovers, a total station as-laid survey fills the gaps, and the file gives eastings, northings and depth at each point.
Who carries out GPR survey on Cyberabad Municipal Corporation roads?
A survey firm whose engineers and machines are its own. Founded in 2003, the firm owns its 58 radar units and 18 HDD rigs outright, and ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 audits apply. None of the field work is sub-let. The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation has given us work orders directly. Telecom operators, contractors, developers, utilities and consultants hire us for construction projects on its roads. For Cyberabad utility mapping, request a site visit for Hyderabad and the Mezux team will book an engineer.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation the same as Cyberabad police?
No. The police commissionerate is older and separate. The municipal corporation is a civic body created from part of GHMC in February 2026 (Source: Deccan Chronicle, 11 February 2026).
Which zones does the corporation have?
Three: Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur, with 76 wards at formation (Source: NewsMeter, 11 February 2026). Ward numbers may change, so check the current list with the zone office.
Do you take jobs beyond Cyberabad's limits?
Yes. Fringe areas and the wider city appear in our survey coverage in Hyderabad page.
Can you give us levels for the road design as well?
Yes. Adding a topographic survey for Hyderabad sites puts levels and the utility layer on a single sheet for your designer.
What depth does radar reach on Cyberabad roads?
On dry granite soils, often a few metres, and less where fill is wet or mixed. The utility maps state the depth confidence for each line.
Can you survey inside an office campus?
Yes, with the facility team's permission. A ground penetrating radar survey of a campus helps before new cabling, piling or landscaping, and the GPR data shows underground utilities across the grounds.
