Quick answer

Mezux Touch carries out GPR survey in state capitals and UT capitals across India, sending its own crews and company-owned radar from Faridabad. Every capital gets the same rate card: ₹24 a metre for standard scanning, ₹32 with an L-section, minimum 4 km, plus a ₹1,00,000 project floor outside Delhi NCR; GST extra.

Rates and page checked:

Survey team setting up radar equipment at a roadside work site
The same in-house crews work in every capital, whether plains, hills or islands.
Map of India with pins marking many city locations
Each state and UT capital links to its own survey and guide pages.
Narrow old-town street with dense overhead wires and shopfronts
Heritage cores need a handheld approach where a full cart cannot pass.
Bar-chart programme showing survey stretches scheduled across several weeks
Island and hill capitals get a programme agreed with the client before mobilisation.

What does a GPR survey in state capitals cover?

A GPR survey in state capitals follows the same purpose as anywhere else: find what is already buried along your route before a trench is cut or a bore is drilled. What changes in a capital is the setting. Roads around legislatures, secretariats, courts and official residences carry dense, often poorly recorded services, and they are watched more closely than an ordinary street.

On every capital-city job we combine:

  • Ground penetrating radar in 2D lines, with 3D or high-resolution grids where a junction or crossing needs it;
  • Electromagnetic locating to trace live power cables and metal pipes;
  • Ground marking of each find in utility colours with approximate depth;
  • Survey records – a signed report, and an L-section depth profile when ordered.

Why give capitals a hub of their own? Their main roads are dug more often than most: new government buildings, metro and flyover works, smart city schemes and frequent cable upgrades all compete for the same strips of verge and footpath. Each round adds services and moves others, so records fall behind quickly, and a strike on a road outside a secretariat or hospital draws far more attention than one on a quiet suburban lane.

The services we look for are the usual ones – HT and LT cables, water mains, sewers and storm drains, telecom and OFC ducts, gas lines – plus the cables that feed street lighting, signals and CCTV, common along the main roads of most capitals. Locating a fault on a damaged cable is a different job from route survey, and so is digging a trial pit or drilling a borehole; both are offered when asked for.

Every capital is surveyed on the same rate card; outside Delhi NCR the ₹1,00,000 project minimum also applies.

How do capital-city surveys differ from other towns?

India's capitals are far from alike. We group them by the ground and access conditions that shape the survey plan.

Government districts

Areas around assemblies, ministries and official bungalows hold old cables and pipes layered under newer ones, plus security and communication lines. Working hours, vehicle entry and road occupation are usually tightly controlled, so permissions are obtained by the project owner before the crew is booked, and night working may be the only window. Our Delhi GPR survey page covers the national capital in more detail.

Heritage cores

Walled cities and old bazaars have narrow lanes, masonry drains and shallow house connections that were never mapped. A full radar cart may not fit, so we switch to handheld systems and EM tracing, and the report notes any lane that could not be covered.

Hill capitals

Shimla, Gangtok, Shillong, Kohima, Aizawl and Itanagar sit on slopes where roads are narrow, rock is close to the surface and services run along retaining walls or culverts. The programme and mobilisation for these capitals are planned with the client, taking season and road access into account. Our Gangtok utility survey guide describes this kind of ground.

Island capitals

Sri Vijaya Puram in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kavaratti in Lakshadweep need equipment shipped across the sea, and saline ground near the coast cuts radar depth. Programme, shipping and mobilisation are agreed with the client before anything moves; the Kavaratti guide explains the island case.

New planned capitals

Gandhinagar, Chandigarh and Amaravati were laid out to a plan, with services in defined corridors. Records tend to be better, yet later additions and repairs still stray from the drawings. For planned-city mapping work, see our smart city underground mapping service.

What does GPR survey cost in a capital city?

The rate card does not change from one capital to the next; only the project floor depends on whether the site lies inside Delhi NCR.

ItemNew Delhi (inside NCR)All other capitals
Standard GPR survey₹24 per metre₹24 per metre
L-section GPR survey₹32 per metre₹32 per metre
Minimum length4 km4 km
Minimum project valueNone beyond the 4 km rule₹1,00,000

So a 3 km stretch in New Delhi is billed on 4 km, which is ₹96,000, while the same 3 km in Bhopal or Bhubaneswar comes to ₹1,00,000 because the project floor lifts it. A 20 km route with an L-section costs ₹6,40,000 in any capital.

Whole-order slabs reward bigger programmes: an order longer than 100 km is billed a quarter lower on every metre, one longer than 500 km at 40% lower, and anything beyond 1,000 km at half the card rate. A 120 km standard programme spread over several capitals therefore costs ₹21,60,000, and a 600 km one ₹86,40,000. All figures are before GST.

Four things never sit inside a metre rate – getting the crew and systems to site, working through the night, barricading or permits, and CAD/GIS drawing sets – and each gets a separate quote line. Every slab is tabulated on our GPR survey price list.

How do crews reach capitals far from Faridabad?

All our crews and systems start from the Faridabad office and yard. The fleet – 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs – is company property, and the people operating it are on our payroll, so no capital is handed to a local sub-contractor and no machine is rented for the job. Our radar record so far stands at 1.5 lakh+ km, spread over 28+ States and UTs.

Because travel is part of every distant job, mobilisation is quoted separately and depends on distance, the size of the crew and how many systems the scope needs. We do not quote fixed travel times; the start date goes into the programme once permissions and dates are settled. For hill, island and remote capitals, the programme and mobilisation are worked out jointly with the client.

Clients with routes in more than one capital, or in a capital and nearby towns, can put them into one order. A single journey then serves several stretches, and their added-up length is what places the order in a slab.

How do you send a route for a capital-city survey?

  1. Route file. KML or KMZ suits us best; AutoCAD files or a PDF map with the line drawn on it also work.
  2. Length and scope. Total metres, the service being laid and whether any stretch needs an L-section.
  3. Crossings. Roads, drains, rail lines or canals the design crosses, especially any planned as HDD bores.
  4. Access conditions. Restricted zones, night-only windows or heritage lanes you already know about.
  5. Outputs wanted. Say whether CAD/GIS drawing sets are needed, as they are priced separately.

Mail the set to kumar@mezux.in, or phone +91 99100 10209 to talk it through first. Our reply carries a quote that splits the metre charge from the separate items, plus a draft programme. If you are not sure which capital page fits your site, our GPR survey near me page lists every city we serve.

What does underground utility mapping in capital cities deliver?

Underground utility mapping in capital cities ends with records you can hand to a designer, a contractor or an authority:

  • Marks on site showing each detected service, its utility colour and approximate depth.
  • A signed report with positions against your route, the method behind each find, the depth radar reached on every section and any stretch left unscanned.
  • An L-section depth profile where the ₹32 per metre survey was ordered.
  • Optional CAD/GIS drawing sets, quoted on their own – see CAD and GIS utility mapping.

Radar depth is an estimate that depends on soil and moisture. Wet clay and saline ground shorten it; dry, sandy ground extends it. That is why the report states depth reach stretch by stretch rather than quoting one number for a whole city. If a design hinges on one exact depth, we open a trial pit or sink a borehole at that spot when asked.

Safety, environment and quality are each covered by an ISO certificate held by the company: ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 respectively. We are not affiliated with any state government, municipal body, development authority or DISCOM in any capital, and findings go solely to whoever commissioned the work.

STEP 1

Choose the capital

Open the capital in the table to read its city page and local guide, then note which stretches your project covers.

STEP 2

Share the route

Email a KML or drawing with total length, crossings and any secured zones, along with the outputs your client expects.

STEP 3

Receive a split quote

The metre charge, project floor and each separate item such as mobilisation or night work are shown on distinct lines.

STEP 4

Agree programme and mobilisation

Dates are fixed once permissions are in hand; hill and island capitals get a programme planned jointly with you.

STEP 5

Scan, mark, report

Our crew runs radar and EM passes, marks every find on the ground and issues a signed report with stated limits.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in state capitals

Do you cover Union Territory capitals as well as state capitals?

Yes. The table on this page lists all 36 states and Union Territories, including capitals such as Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Puducherry, Daman, Kavaratti and Sri Vijaya Puram. The same rate card applies, and island or remote UT capitals get a programme and mobilisation plan agreed with the client in advance.

Can you work inside secured government areas?

We can, once the project owner has obtained entry and work permission from the authority that controls the area. Crew names, vehicle details and equipment lists can be supplied for the pass process. Restricted hours are built into the programme, and any night working this requires is charged separately from the metre rate.

Why does New Delhi have no ₹1,00,000 project floor?

New Delhi lies inside Delhi NCR, close to our Faridabad base, so only the 4 km minimum applies there. Every capital outside the NCR involves a longer mobilisation, and there the ₹1,00,000 per-project minimum is applied in addition to the 4 km rule.

Is GPR useful on rocky hill-capital roads?

It is, though conditions vary. Radar works well in dry rock and stony fill, but steep road edges, retaining walls and drains limit where a cart can run, so handheld units and EM tracing take over in tight spots. The report shows which parts were scanned and how deep the signal reached.

Can one quote cover a capital and its surrounding towns?

Yes. Send every route file together and we prepare a single quote with one programme. Sharing a mobilisation across the capital and nearby towns lowers that cost per kilometre, and the combined length decides which discount slab the whole order falls into.

Do you survey heritage zones without digging?

The survey itself is non-destructive: radar and EM tools work from the surface, and marks are paint or pegs. Trial pits are dug only if the client asks for one to prove a depth, and then only with the permission that the heritage or civic authority requires.
