Quick answer

Need a GPR survey company in Gandhinagar? Mezux Touch brings its own radar and staff from Faridabad to pinpoint cables, water mains, sewers, gas lines and OFC ducts across the sectors and GIFT City fringe. Prices run ₹24 per metre for a route survey and ₹32 for L-section, from a minimum of 4 km and ₹1,00,000 a project, plus GST.

Rates and page checked:

Radar survey cart moving along a paved verge beside traffic
On Gandhinagar verges the cart runs parallel to the road, with cross-lines at every junction.
Coloured paint lines and depth notes marked on a road surface
Paint in utility colours shows the trench crew where every sector-road service lies.
Illustration of a telecom duct laid beside existing buried cables
Fibre ducts added after the original layout often sit outside the planned service strips.
Bar chart comparing survey cost per kilometre across order sizes
Bigger capital-region programmes fall into lower slabs, with the discount covering every metre.

What does a GPR survey company in Gandhinagar check before digging?

Before a cable trench, pipe excavation or HDD bore starts, the ground along the route needs to be cleared of surprises. A GPR survey company in Gandhinagar does that by firing short radar pulses into the soil and logging every reflection from buried objects, then confirming metallic lines with an electromagnetic (EM) locator.

What our crews look for on a typical capital-area job:

  • HT and LT power cables, including street-light feeds;
  • water mains, house connections and sewer lines, including plastic pipe;
  • gas distribution pipes;
  • telecom cables and OFC ducts;
  • chambers, culverts and abandoned lines that no longer appear on any record.

Each result goes onto the road as a paint mark with its rough depth, and into a signed report. Our pre-excavation scanning page explains how that record is used by the digging crew.

How does a planned capital change the survey?

Gandhinagar was built from scratch as the capital of Gujarat. It is laid out in numbered sectors along the Sabarmati, framed by a grid of main roads, with green verges that were meant to carry services. That planning helps: survey lines can be set out quickly and readings compared against an expected pattern.

The plan does not tell the whole story, though. Over the decades, extra feeders, fibre ducts, gas pipes and new water connections have been added, and many of them were laid wherever a contractor found room at the time. So a sector verge that looks orderly on paper may hold a crowded mix of old and new lines.

Two other points shape the work:

  • GIFT City lies at the edge of the city. Newer districts like it usually keep better records, so the survey is often about checking what is there against what was drawn, and tracing links into the older network.
  • Two power suppliers. Torrent Power is the electricity licensee for Gandhinagar city, while UGVCL supplies much of the surrounding district. Your route may pass from one area to the other, and each owner's assets need to be identified.

Mezux Touch is not affiliated with Torrent Power, UGVCL or any other DISCOM, and survey reports go solely to whoever commissions them.

Which Gandhinagar jobs usually need a scan?

Most of our enquiries for the capital region fall into a few groups:

  • Power cabling. New HT or LT feeders, ring-main links and service cables along sector roads; see the Gandhinagar HT/LT cable route page.
  • Depth profiles for work orders. Where a contract asks for the depth of every service along the route, an L-section is added; details are on the Gandhinagar L-section page.
  • Fibre and telecom ducts pushed in by HDD or slim trenches beside the carriageway, covered by our OFC route survey.
  • Layered records of a whole corridor or campus for designers and planners; see underground utility mapping in Gandhinagar.
  • Building plots and campuses scanned on a grid before foundations, new connections or landscaping.
  • District towns such as Kalol, Dehgam and Mansa, which can be added to a city order.

What happens during a ground penetrating radar survey in Gandhinagar?

  1. Desk review. We study your KML or route drawing and any service records you hold, and note road crossings, junctions and stretches near the river.
  2. Radar passes. The cart follows the alignment without a break, and short transverse lines are added at set intervals, at junctions and wherever a chamber or pole suggests a buried connection. Where many services crowd one strip, we switch to 3D or high-resolution scanning.
  3. EM tracing. Conductive cables and metal pipes are followed with the locator to confirm their run.
  4. Marking. Every find is marked on the ground before the crew leaves the stretch.
  5. Report. Positions, approximate depths, the method behind each find and any stretch we could not scan are set out in writing.

How deep the signal travels comes down to soil and its water content. Saline ground or wet clay shortens it, dry sandy ground helps, and ground close to the Sabarmati can behave differently from a dry sector verge. That is why the report gives achieved depth section by section. If the designer needs a proven rather than estimated depth, pits or boreholes at the critical spots can be added on request.

How much do GPR scanning services in Gandhinagar cost?

The charge is set per metre surveyed: ₹24 for a standard route survey (₹24,000 a kilometre) and ₹32 for the L-section version with its depth profile. Anything short of 4 km is billed at the 4 km figure, and as Gandhinagar is outside Delhi NCR, a project is never billed below ₹1,00,000. All figures exclude GST.

Sample jobTypeBefore GST
2.5 km sector roadStandard₹1,00,000 (4 km = ₹96,000, raised to the floor)
6 km feeder routeStandard₹1,44,000
6 km feeder routeL-section₹1,92,000
120 km capital-region programmeStandard, 25% slab₹21,60,000

Volume discounts cut the price of the whole order, not just the length beyond a threshold. Past 100 km the cut is 25%; past 500 km, 40%; past 1,000 km, 50%. Mobilisation, night-shift work, traffic and permit costs, plus any CAD/GIS drawing set, are quoted as their own items. For every slab and a calculator, open our GPR survey price list.

How do crews and equipment reach Gandhinagar?

Every Gandhinagar job is dispatched from the Faridabad office and yard. All 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs used are owned by the company, and the operators are on our payroll, so nothing is hired in or passed to a sub-contractor. In 23 years, these crews have surveyed 1.5 lakh+ km with radar, working across 28+ States/UTs.

Gandhinagar sits just north of Ahmedabad, so stretches in both cities, or in towns like Mehsana, can be grouped under one mobilisation. Sharing the trip that way trims the travel charge per kilometre and can push the total into a lower slab. Town pages for the whole state sit on the Gujarat GPR survey hub.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Gandhinagar

Do you survey in GIFT City as well as the older sectors?

Yes, wherever the developer or contractor arranges access for our crew. In newer areas the job is usually to check existing as-built records against what the radar finds and to trace links into older networks. The same metre rate and minimums apply as elsewhere in the city.

How do I know whether my route is in Torrent Power or UGVCL territory?

Torrent Power is the licensee for Gandhinagar city and UGVCL supplies much of the district around it, but boundaries do not always match town limits. Check your tender or connection papers. Our survey identifies buried cables whoever owns them; we are not linked to either company.

Can Kalol, Dehgam or Mansa be added to a city order?

Yes. District towns can be included in the same order, scanned during the same visit and counted towards the total length for discount slabs. Send each stretch as a separate file or clearly labelled section so the programme and quote show them individually.

Will you scan a single plot or campus?

Yes. For a plot, office campus or institutional site the crew scans a grid covering the whole area instead of a single line. The price follows the normal metre rate on those lines, subject to the 4 km and ₹1,00,000 minimums, so small sites are often combined with other work.

Who arranges road permissions and traffic control?

Permissions for working on a road come from the authority that owns it and are normally obtained by the project owner or main contractor. Our metre rate leaves out traffic arrangements and permit costs, which are billed on their own, and we set the programme around the working hours that are allowed.

Does the route survey include locating cable faults?

No. Tracking down the fault point in a failed cable is a separate job from route survey before excavation, using different test methods. We do offer fault locating, but it is quoted on its own rather than included in the ₹24 or ₹32 metre rate.
