Quick answer

As a GPR survey company in Valsad, Mezux Touch locates underground power cables, water and drainage pipes, gas lines and OFC ducts using company-owned radar and in-house crews sent from Faridabad. The rate card is ₹24 per metre for route survey and ₹32 per metre with L-section, with a 4 km order minimum, a ₹1,00,000 project minimum and GST on top.

River and nala crossings such as the Auranga need their own scan pattern.
Industrial plant with pipe racks, tanks and internal roads
Industrial plots around Vapi often hide process lines beneath internal roads.

Why hire a GPR survey company in Valsad before excavation?

Valsad district packs a national highway, a trunk railway, river crossings and a major industrial area into a narrow coastal strip. Most new cable, pipeline and fibre work has to squeeze past services that are already there, and older ones are often missing from any drawing.

Engaging a GPR survey company in Valsad before the excavator arrives gives you three things:

  • a map of what lies along and across your route, found with radar and electromagnetic locating rather than guessed from records;
  • surface marks the site team can follow while digging or boring;
  • a signed report that records coverage, depth reach and any section that could not be scanned.

A cable strike on a busy corridor can stop traffic, cut supply to a factory or injure a worker. Spending on a survey first is almost always cheaper than repairing that damage later.

Which Valsad corridors carry the most buried services?

Survey effort is not spread evenly. These are the settings where services crowd together most often:

SettingWhat usually lies belowHow we scan it
NH-48 and its service roadsOFC ducts, power cables, water mains, highway drainageLong parallel passes with cross-lines at junctions and culverts
Land beside the Mumbai–Ahmedabad rail lineSignal and telecom cables, power feeds, crossing pipesContinuous lines on the permitted strip, dense grids at crossings
Vapi industrial areaProcess pipes, effluent lines, HT cables, fire-water mainsGrids inside plots, routes along internal roads
Auranga river and nala crossingsBridge-mounted and buried crossings, drainsBank-to-bank lines and the planned bore path
Valsad town streetsMixed old and new services from several ownersCloser line spacing, chamber checks where opened

For plant work around Vapi, our guide to GPR survey in GIDC estates covers access and safety issues in more depth.

How do heavy rain and coastal ground affect radar results?

South Gujarat gets a strong monsoon, and Valsad lies along the Arabian Sea coast. Both points matter for radar. Water in the soil slows and absorbs the signal, and ground that carries salt – common close to the shore and in creek areas – absorbs it further. Drier, sandier material lets the signal travel deeper.

So depth reach in Valsad varies by season and by distance from the coast. Rather than quote one figure, the report records how far down the radar saw on each section and marks low-confidence stretches clearly. Where a crossing must be proved before design, trial pits or boreholes can be ordered for those points. Ground behaviour across the region is discussed in our article on south Gujarat soil and GPR.

What will a GPR survey in Valsad cost?

The charge is set per metre surveyed: ₹24 for a standard route survey, and ₹32 when an L-section depth profile of the detected services is wanted too. Orders below 4 km are charged as 4 km. Valsad lies outside Delhi NCR, so a project is never billed below ₹1,00,000. GST is added to all figures.

Some worked figures, before GST:

  • 3.5 km L-section job – charged as 4 km at ₹32, which is ₹1,28,000; that is already above the project floor.
  • 10 km highway-side cable route, standard – ₹2,40,000.
  • 600 km fibre programme across south Gujarat – past the 500 km slab, so every metre is 40% off: ₹86,40,000.
  • 1,200 km multi-district programme – past 1,000 km, so the whole order is billed at half rate: ₹1,44,00,000.

Programmes over 100 km save 25% on all their metres, not only those beyond the threshold. Mobilisation, night shifts, traffic arrangements or permissions, and CAD/GIS drawings are separate quotation items. See the full rate card and calculator.

Which survey should you order for a Valsad job?

  1. Laying fibre along NH-48 or town roads – a route survey ahead of trenching or HDD; our OFC route survey page explains the scope.
  2. Pipeline or water main work – a ground penetrating radar survey in Valsad to locate metal and plastic pipes; see underground pipeline detection.
  3. Design that needs depth profiles – the L-section option at ₹32 per metre.
  4. New plot, shed or factory extension – utility detection services in Valsad on a grid across the site.
  5. A cable that has failed – cable fault locating, which is a separate service from route survey.
  6. A depth that must be certain – trial pits or boreholes on request.

What does the client receive after the field work?

On site, every detected service is marked on the surface in its utility colour so the excavation crew can work from it straight away. After processing, the client receives a signed report that sets out:

  • each service found, its position against the route and its approximate depth at measured points;
  • how it was detected – radar, EM locator or both;
  • depth reach achieved section by section;
  • lengths left unscanned because of parked vehicles, waterlogging or no access.

Layered CAD or GIS drawings can be prepared too, quoted as a separate item.

How does a crew from Faridabad handle a Valsad project?

Our crews leave from the Faridabad office and yard with the systems the job needs. Mezux Touch owns 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs and does not hire equipment or sub-let survey work. Across 23 years, more than 1.5 lakh km of GPR survey has been completed in 28+ States and UTs.

Valsad sits on the same highway and rail spine as Vapi, Navsari and Surat, so one trip can cover routes in several of them. That shares the mobilisation and helps a combined order reach a discount slab. Electricity in south Gujarat is distributed by DGVCL, headquartered in Surat; Mezux Touch is not affiliated with DGVCL or any other DISCOM. The wider state picture is on our Gujarat GPR survey hub.

TIP 1

Avoid waterlogged weeks

Schedule deep crossings for drier spells when possible, since saturated monsoon ground shortens how far radar can see.

TIP 2

List every crossing

Mark rail, river, nala and highway crossings on your route file so the crew plans grids for each one.

TIP 3

Arrange plant access early

Industrial units around Vapi need gate passes and safety briefings, so request them before the crew arrives.

TIP 4

Bundle nearby towns

Adding Vapi, Navsari or Surat routes to one order shares travel cost and can lift the total into a slab.

TIP 5

Keep the signed report

Paint fades fast in coastal rain; the written report is the record to keep once marks are gone.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Valsad

Can you scan along NH-48 near Valsad?

Yes, once the project owner has the highway authority's permission for work in the right of way. We scan the permitted strip, service roads and planned crossings. Traffic arrangements and permissions are arranged by the owner and billed separately from our survey rate.

Do you survey inside factories in the Vapi industrial area?

Yes. Inside a plant we scan on a grid across roads, yards and the footprint of new work, looking for process pipes, effluent lines, cables and fire mains. Gate passes, permits to work and safety induction are arranged with the unit before the crew arrives.

Can a survey cross the Auranga river?

We scan both banks, the approaches and the planned bore path as far as access allows. Radar cannot work through standing or flowing water, so the riverbed itself is not scanned while water is present. The report marks those limits clearly for the HDD designer.

Are you connected with DGVCL?

No. Mezux Touch has no approval, empanelment or tie-up with DGVCL or any other distribution company. Contractors, consultants, builders and industries in Valsad can engage us directly, and findings go only to the client who placed the order.

Is the 4 km minimum the same as the ₹1,00,000 minimum?

They are two separate checks. First, any order under 4 km is billed as 4 km. Then, because Valsad is outside Delhi NCR, the total is compared with ₹1,00,000 and raised to that figure if lower. A 4 km standard survey, at ₹96,000, is therefore billed ₹1,00,000.

How soon should digging start after the survey?

As soon as practical. Paint and pegs on busy or rain-soaked roads do not last long, and new work by others can change the ground. The signed report keeps the findings, and a crew can return to re-mark a stretch as a separately quoted visit.
