L-Section GPR Survey — Gandhinagar

L-Section GPR Survey in Gandhinagar

When a Gandhinagar work order wants to know how deep every buried service runs along your route, we add a depth profile to the radar survey, scanned by our own crews in the same visit.

Quick answer

An L-section GPR survey in Gandhinagar takes our usual radar route survey and adds one output – a depth profile covering each service it finds along the proposed cable or pipe line. Mezux Touch charges ₹32 per metre for it, compared with ₹24 for the plain survey. Orders start at 4 km and ₹1,00,000 per project; GST is charged extra.

Rates and page checked:

Long profile showing buried services at different depths along a route
The profile lets a Gandhinagar cable designer see each service's depth along the full run.
Survey team in safety vests standing beside radar equipment
The same crew handles the route scan and the depth profile in a single visit.
Diagram of radar signal weakening as it passes into damp soil
Achieved radar depth is stated stretch by stretch, so the profile's limits are clear.
Printed survey report pages with tables and a route sketch
Depth findings travel with the signed report that records coverage and gaps.

What is an L-section GPR survey in Gandhinagar?

A standard route survey tells you where buried services lie along your path. An L-section GPR survey in Gandhinagar goes one step further and shows how deep each detected service runs along that path, laid out as a depth profile from start to end.

Nothing about the fieldwork is cut back to make room for it. You still get:

  • radar scanning along the route and across crossings;
  • EM tracing of conductive cables and metal pipes;
  • ground marking of every find;
  • a signed report of coverage, achieved depth and gaps.

On top of that, the depth profile puts all detected services into one picture, which is what a designer needs to set the depth of a new cable or plan a bore. The method is described in general on our L-section GPR survey service page, and the city overview is on the Gandhinagar GPR survey page.

Why do Gandhinagar routes need depth, not just position?

Knowing that a water main lies under the verge is useful. Knowing whether it is shallow or deep decides whether your new cable can pass above it, must go below it, or should take a bore. Several features of the capital make that question come up often:

  • Shared service strips. The planned verges along the sector roads hold water, sewer, power and telecom lines laid at different times and different depths.
  • Grid-road crossings. Wherever a route crosses a main road, a bore or open cut has to clear everything beneath the carriageway.
  • Links to GIFT City and the district. Routes leaving the city pass from Torrent Power's licence area into territory where UGVCL supplies much of the network, and may meet older lines whose depth is not recorded.
  • Riverside stretches. Ground near the Sabarmati can be wetter, which affects how deep radar sees and therefore how complete the profile is.

Mezux Touch carries out these surveys independently; it is not affiliated with Torrent Power, UGVCL or any DISCOM.

How does GPR profiling in Gandhinagar differ from a standard scan?

The field method is shared, but the output and price differ:

GPR profiling in Gandhinagar suits work where depth drives the design: cables that must keep clear of existing lines, bores under roads, or pipes that need a fall. A plain marking survey is usually enough when the trench is shallow and the route is flexible. Our article comparing L-section and standard GPR surveys covers the choice in more detail.

Do you still need a land survey for underground electrical cabling in Gandhinagar?

Often, yes, because the two answer different questions. A land survey for underground electrical cabling in Gandhinagar records the surface: boundaries, road edges and levels. Our radar survey records what is under that surface: the cables, pipes and ducts already in the ground.

When a tender asks for a "cable route L-section drawing" in Gandhinagar, it usually wants the buried-services side covered. That is what our depth profile provides. If the client also needs surface levels, those come from the land survey, and the designer combines the two.

CAD or GIS drawing sets, if the client wants the results in that form, are available but priced separately from the ₹32 per metre survey. Our scope stays with what we can measure: detected services and their approximate depth.

What does an L-section survey cost in Gandhinagar?

The L-section rate is ₹32 for each metre of route. Orders are billed for at least 4 km, and since Gandhinagar is outside Delhi NCR, a minimum project value of ₹1,00,000 also applies. Prices exclude GST.

RouteLength billedBefore GST
3 km cable route4 km (minimum)₹1,28,000
5 km feeder5 km₹1,60,000
15 km cabling package15 km₹4,80,000
150 km regional programme150 km, 25% off₹36,00,000

A programme longer than 100 km receives 25% off every metre, rising to 40% over 500 km and 50% over 1,000 km. Mobilisation, night shifts, traffic arrangements and permissions, and drawing sets are added as separate items. See our GPR survey price list for all slabs.

How do you split one order between L-section and standard stretches?

Not every metre of a route needs a profile. A practical way to order:

  1. Read the survey clause of the work order and note exactly where depth is required.
  2. Mark crossings, bores and crowded verges for L-section.
  3. Leave open, lightly used stretches as standard survey.
  4. Send one file with both types labelled, so a single crew covers the lot in one mobilisation.

For cabling jobs, our Gandhinagar HT/LT cable route survey explains the conflict list that comes with the scan.

STEP 1

Fix the final route

The profile follows your alignment exactly, so send the version the cable or pipe crew will actually build.

STEP 2

Label profile stretches

Mark which lengths need the ₹32 L-section and which can stay as a ₹24 standard survey.

STEP 3

Scan and log depths

Radar and EM passes find each service, and its approximate depth is recorded as the crew moves along.

STEP 4

Build the profile

All detected services are brought together into one depth profile running the length of your route.

STEP 5

Hand over with report

The profile is issued with the signed report, which also notes achieved depth and any stretch not scanned.

FAQ

Questions about L-section surveys in Gandhinagar

How exact are the depths in the profile?

They are estimates from radar, and their reliability depends on soil, moisture and the size of each service. Dry ground and larger services give firmer readings than wet clay and thin lines. Where a particular depth must be certain, a trial pit or borehole can be added on request.

Is the L-section only for power cables?

No. The depth profile works for any linear route: water and sewer pipes, gas lines, telecom ducts or HDD bores. It shows the existing services the new line must clear, whatever that new line is. The rate is the same ₹32 per metre.

Does the profile show ground levels along the route?

Our L-section is a profile of detected buried services and their approximate depth. Surface levels, boundaries and road edges are the job of a land survey. Many designers combine both when planning a cable or pipeline.

Can the profile cover bored crossings under grid roads?

Yes. Planned bores under main roads are often where depth matters most, so they are natural L-section stretches. The crew scans the crossing closely and records the depth of every service found beneath the carriageway and around the pit areas.

When is the depth profile delivered?

It is issued along with the signed survey report, after fieldwork on the route is complete. The expected timing is set out in the programme sent with our quote, so you can plan trenching or boring around it.

Will Torrent Power or UGVCL accept your L-section?

We cannot speak for any DISCOM, and we have no affiliation, approval or empanelment with Torrent Power, UGVCL or any other. What a submission must contain is set by your contract, so check its requirements with your client or consultant.
