What is an L-section GPR survey in Anand?
Think of it as the route survey seen from the side. A standard survey tells you where existing services sit on plan along your alignment. An L-section GPR survey in Anand adds a longitudinal view: a depth profile of the detected services along the route, so you can see at a glance which ones lie shallow, which lie deep, and how they relate to the depth your new cable or pipe is meant to run at.
The field work is the same radar and electromagnetic locating we use on any route, planned from the start to capture the depth information the profile needs. It costs ₹32 per metre instead of ₹24. Nothing else about the job changes: the same crew, the same ground marking and the same report on what was found and where.
When does an Anand cable job need GPR profiling?
GPR profiling in Anand is worth ordering when depth, not just position, drives decisions:
- your tender or work order lists an L-section among the documents to be submitted;
- the route includes bored crossings – NH-48, the Ahmedabad–Mumbai rail line, canals – where the drill path must clear what lies above and below it;
- several services crowd one stretch, and the designer needs to see whether the new cable can pass over or under them;
- a long rural feeder, such as the conversion routes reported around Borsad in 2026, has to be planned at a consistent depth.
Around Anand the profile earns its cost in two places in particular: along feeders that pass dairy units and campus boundaries, where service entries cross the verge at varying depths, and at irrigation channels across the surrounding farmland, where a bore has to pass beneath the channel bed and anything running beside it.
For a short LT connection in open ground, depths noted at each detected line on a standard survey may be all you need. Unsure which applies? Forward the relevant clause and we will say which survey it calls for.
How is the L-section different from a standard route survey?
| Standard route survey | L-section survey | |
|---|---|---|
| Rate | ₹24 per metre | ₹32 per metre |
| Services located and marked | Yes | Yes |
| Approximate depth at each detected line | Yes | Yes |
| Depth profile along the route | No | Yes |
| Survey report | Yes | Yes |
Both use the same equipment and crew. What differs is how the field passes are planned and how the depth findings are presented to you.
Ordering the L-section with the first survey matters. Adding a profile afterwards usually means another visit, another mobilisation and a second pass over ground already scanned. The cable-route scope it usually accompanies is described on our Anand HT/LT cable route survey page.
Is a cable route L-section drawing the same as a land survey?
No, and projects often need both. A land survey for underground electrical cabling in Anand records what is on and of the surface – road edges, boundaries, levels, poles and structures. A cable route L-section drawing from a GPR survey records what is below the surface – the services your cable will meet and their approximate depths. One tells the designer where there is room at the surface; the other tells the crew what to avoid underneath.
Mezux Touch does the subsurface part. If your project already has a land survey of the corridor, share it with us; it helps us fit our findings to the same alignment. How distribution cabling projects put profiles to use is explained in depth profiles on Gujarat DISCOM cable jobs. Note that our firm holds no affiliation with MGVCL or other DISCOMs.
What does an L-section survey in Anand cost?
The rate is ₹32 per metre, with GST added. Some examples before GST:
- 4 km, the smallest order: ₹1,28,000, which is already above the ₹1,00,000 project minimum for sites outside Delhi NCR.
- 25 km feeder: ₹8,00,000.
- 100 km at full rate: ₹32,00,000, while 110 km falls into the 25% slab at ₹24 a metre and costs ₹26,40,000.
Larger orders get 40% off above 500 km and 50% off above 1,000 km, on every metre of the order. The ₹32 rate covers the survey and its depth profile. What it does not cover: moving crews and systems to Anand, work done on night shifts, traffic control or permissions, and any CAD/GIS drawing set – each of these is priced on its own line. Order the profile up front
Paying for the profile on day one saves a second trip from Faridabad and a repeat scan of ground already covered.
Use L-section only where needed
Short open stretches can stay at ₹24/m while crossings and congested sections take the ₹32/m profile.
Cross the 100 km threshold
Past 100 km the whole order drops to ₹24 a metre for L-section, the same as the standard full rate.
Send a final route file
A settled KML alignment keeps the billed length accurate and prevents profiling a route that later moves.
Plan daylight scanning
Night shifts are a separate charge, so keep profiling work to daytime hours wherever road traffic permits.

Questions about L-section surveys in Anand
Does the L-section show every service in the ground?
It shows every service the survey detected along the route. Radar reach depends on soil and moisture, and very small or deep lines can be missed, so the report states the depth reached on each section. Stretches we could not access are listed rather than drawn as clear.
Can I order an L-section for just part of the route?
Yes. Tell us which stretches need the profile – often crossings and congested sections – and the quote prices those at ₹32 per metre and the rest at the standard ₹24. The 4 km minimum and the ₹1,00,000 project floor apply to the order as a whole, not to each part separately.
Is the L-section accepted for DISCOM submissions?
Acceptance is decided by whoever issued your work order, not by us. Send us the clause describing what must be submitted, and we will tell you plainly whether our L-section survey meets it before you place the order. We are not affiliated with any DISCOM.
Can an existing route survey be upgraded to an L-section later?
Sometimes, but it usually needs a fresh visit because the field work for a profile is planned differently. That means another mobilisation and a second pass, which costs more than ordering the L-section at the start.
Will the profile show my new cable's proposed depth?
Tell us the design depth when you order, and the profile can be read against it, so conflicts with existing services stand out. If the depth is not yet fixed, the profile still shows where existing services sit, which helps you choose it.
How long does an L-section survey take compared with a standard one?
Field time is similar, with extra passes at crossings and congested stretches where depth matters most. Processing takes a little longer because of the profile. The quote gives a programme for your route length and ground conditions.
