Cable route survey — Anand
HT/LT Cable Route GPR Survey in Anand
Before an 11 kV or LT cable is trenched or bored in Anand district, we find the water lines, drains, ducts and older cables already sitting on its path and record where they cross.

An electric cable route GPR survey in Anand checks the full path of a planned HT or LT cable for existing services, crossings and their approximate depth before trenching or HDD. Mezux Touch charges ₹24 per metre, or ₹32 per metre with an L-section, minimum 4 km and ₹1,00,000 per project outside Delhi NCR, GST extra.

What is an electric cable route GPR survey in Anand?
It is a survey of one specific corridor: the path your new power cable will take. An electric cable route GPR survey in Anand walks that alignment with radar and an electromagnetic locator, finds every existing service that lies along it or crosses it, and records where each one is and roughly how deep. The cable could be an 11 kV feeder replacing an overhead line, an LT distribution cable in a colony, or a dedicated supply into a plant or campus.
The difference from a general area scan is focus. We are not mapping a whole neighbourhood; we are answering whether this alignment is workable, where it conflicts with something already buried, and which stretches will need hand digging or a bored crossing. For the wider town context, see our GPR survey in Anand page.
Where do HT/LT routes around Anand run into trouble?
Cable routes in this district tend to meet the same handful of obstacles:
- House service connections – in built-up parts of Anand, water and LT service lines cross the roadside strip every few metres, often at shallow depth.
- Existing distribution cables – earlier underground stretches, street-light feeds and telecom cables frequently share the verge your new cable is meant to use.
- Highway and rail crossings – routes that cross NH-48 or the Ahmedabad–Mumbai rail line are usually bored, and the bore designer needs to know what sits above and below the planned depth.
- Canals and nalas – irrigation channels across the farmland around Anand break up long rural feeders and each needs its own crossing record.
- Plant and campus boundaries – a feeder entering a dairy unit or a college campus at Vallabh Vidyanagar meets that site's internal network at the gate.
Rural roads on the Borsad side, named in 2026 reports on MGVCL conversion work, mix several of these on one alignment: narrow carriageways, village connections and canal crossings in quick succession.
How do we trace existing power cables underground?
Underground electrical line tracing on a cable route uses two methods side by side. The electromagnetic locator picks up the signal on a conductive cable – either the cable's own field or a signal we apply – and lets the operator follow it continuously along the verge. Radar then confirms the position and gives an approximate depth, and it also catches what the locator cannot, such as plastic ducts, water pipes and abandoned lines that no longer carry any signal.
Both methods are non-contact. Live HT cables stay energised throughout and nothing is cut or exposed. Where readings disagree, or a line sits exactly where the new cable must go, we can arrange a trial pit on request so the line is seen and measured. Depth reach depends on soil and moisture and is stated section by section in our report. Locating a fault on an existing cable is a separate task from this route survey; ask for it separately if you need it.
What does the survey give a cabling contractor?
The contractor's need is practical: a cleared path, a list of conflicts and enough information to set the trench depth or bore profile. From HT cable route mapping in Anand, you receive:
- paint marks on the ground for each detected service, in its utility colour, with approximate depth;
- a survey report listing services by position along the route, with depth and method for each;
- a separate entry for every road, rail, canal and nala crossing on the alignment;
- congested stretches flagged where the cable may need re-routing;
- no-access areas listed, so nobody assumes they were checked.
An L-section can be added for a depth profile along the route, and CAD/GIS drawing sets can be prepared as well; both are explained on the Anand L-section GPR survey page and in the price section below. Drilling teams planning bored crossings will find their checklist in surveying HDD crossings under Gujarat roads, rail and canals.
This kind of electric grid underground survey is used by contractors and consultants working for distribution utilities and by private owners. We have no affiliation with MGVCL or with any other distribution company.
How is an Anand cable route survey priced?
As a power cable mapping company in Anand's region, we price by the metre of route. The plain route survey is ₹24 a metre; with an L-section it becomes ₹32 a metre. Every order is billed for at least 4 km, and because the district is outside Delhi NCR, the total cannot fall below ₹1,00,000. GST is added to the invoice.
- A 40 km 11 kV conversion package, route survey only: ₹9,60,000.
- The same 40 km with an L-section: ₹12,80,000.
- A 150 km multi-feeder order with L-section: the 25% slab brings the rate to ₹24 a metre, so ₹36,00,000.
Order size sets the discount, and it covers every metre: a quarter off once the order passes 100 km, 40% past 500 km, half price past 1,000 km. Four things sit outside these figures and appear as their own quote lines – getting crews and systems to site, any night working, traffic management or permissions, and CAD/GIS drawing sets. If you are preparing a bid, our note on survey quantities in a DISCOM tender BOQ may help, and the full slab table is on the GPR survey price list. The general method behind this scope is on our HT/LT cable route GPR survey service page.

Survey all feeders in one order
Several 11 kV feeders surveyed together reach discount slabs sooner than separate small orders placed feeder by feeder.
Say which stretches are bored
Knowing the HDD crossings in advance lets us plan the extra passes once, without a second visit later.
Include the L-section if required
When the work order calls for a depth profile, the ₹32/m rate now is cheaper than a repeat mobilisation.
Send the latest alignment
Surveying an outdated route wastes metres; a current KML keeps the billed length equal to the real one.
Arrange permissions early
Traffic and crossing permissions are separate from the rate, and having them ready avoids idle crew time.
Ask for a line-by-line quote
Metre rate, slab, minimums and separate items appear individually, so the cable survey cost is easy to check.

Questions about cable route surveys in Anand
Does the survey need a shutdown of existing feeders?
No. Electromagnetic locating and radar both work from the surface without touching the cable, so existing HT and LT lines stay energised. A live cable actually helps the locator, because its own field can be traced without applying any signal.
Can you survey a route that changes from trench to HDD halfway?
Yes. Tell us where the method changes. Trenched stretches get a corridor scan wide enough for the trench and spoil, while bored stretches get extra passes over the drill path and at the entry and exit pits.
Will the survey show the depth of existing cables?
It gives an approximate depth for each detected line, worked out from the radar return and stated with the method used. Accuracy depends on soil and moisture. For a critical crossing, a trial pit on request gives a measured figure.
Can you trace an old cable that is no longer live?
Often. A dead metallic cable can still be traced electromagnetically if a signal can be applied, and radar can pick up its position regardless. Abandoned lines are recorded so your crew does not mistake them for clear ground.
How wide a corridor do you scan for the new cable?
That is set by your trench or bore design and the space the crew needs either side. We agree the corridor width with you before the survey, so the quote and the field work match what the excavation actually requires.
Do you supply a drawing of the cable route?
Yes, on request. Route drawings, CAD/GIS layers and L-sections can all be provided. Drawing sets are priced separately from the per-metre survey; the L-section survey is charged at ₹32 per metre instead of ₹24. Tell us at the quote stage which outputs you need.
