Quick answer

An electric cable route GPR survey in Nadiad finds the cables, pipes and ducts already buried along a planned HT or LT alignment, with depths and crossing points, before trenching or HDD begins. Mezux Touch charges ₹24 per metre for the route survey, or ₹32 per metre with an L-section, on a 4 km minimum, plus GST.

Rates and page checked:

Survey crew member reviewing radar results on a rugged tablet beside a road
Each Nadiad trace is checked on screen before a single line is painted.
Technician walking with an electromagnetic cable locator over a paved road
EM locating follows live LT and HT cables between radar passes.
Illustration of a cable route passing beneath a railway track
Routes crossing the Ahmedabad–Vadodara rail line get their own crossing record.
Outdoor electrical substation yard with cable trenches leading out
Substation approaches bunch many outgoing cables into a narrow strip.

Why does an electric cable route GPR survey in Nadiad come before trenching?

Nadiad is the headquarters of Kheda district and lies inside the area served by MGVCL, the central Gujarat distribution company. Press reports in August and October 2026 named Nadiad City among the areas covered by large MGVCL orders for underground networks and covered conductor. Whichever contractor executes such a scope, the new cable has to fit around services laid by many agencies over decades: civic water mains and drains, telecom ducts, street-light feeds and older power cables that may be missing from every drawing on file.

An electric cable route GPR survey in Nadiad gives the designer and the excavation crew one shared picture of that ground. Radar detects metallic and plastic services alike, while electromagnetic locating confirms conductive cables and follows them between radar lines. The result tells you where a machine can dig, where hand-digging is safer and where the alignment should shift. Our HT/LT cable route GPR survey service describes the method in general; the sections below apply it to Nadiad. Mezux Touch is an independent survey contractor and is not affiliated with MGVCL or any other DISCOM.

What is already buried along Nadiad's cable corridors?

The mix of services changes as a route moves from the old town towards the outskirts:

  • Old town lanes – water lines, drainage and house connections sit close to the surface, often sharing the same narrow width with LT cables and telecom drops.
  • Arterial roads – trunk water mains, storm drains and optical fibre ducts run parallel for long stretches, so a new HT cable either shares the corridor or has to cross them.
  • Substation approaches – outgoing feeders and earthing conductors are bunched near the yard, which is where HT cable route mapping in Nadiad needs closer scan spacing.
  • Village and peri-urban links – fewer services overall, but irrigation canals, minors and field drains need crossing records.

Underground electrical line tracing in Nadiad is therefore seldom about one cable. The value of the survey lies in showing how every buried line relates to the one you are about to lay.

Which crossings around Nadiad need extra passes?

Nadiad Junction sits on the Western Railway main line between Ahmedabad and Vadodara, so any east–west route through the town has to get past the tracks. NH-48 and the Ahmedabad–Vadodara Expressway run close to the city, and canals of the Mahi irrigation command cut across many rural roads in Kheda district. At each of these points we run additional radar lines, record the services on both approaches and flag crossings that are likely to be bored rather than opened. Our guide to HDD crossing surveys on Gujarat roads, canals and rail is worth reading before entry and exit pits are fixed.

How deep can radar see on a Nadiad route?

There is no single depth figure to promise. Dry, sandy soil lets the radar signal travel further; wet clay, saline patches and waterlogged ground after the monsoon cut it short. Rather than quote a number in advance, our report states the depth actually reached on each section and marks stretches where a bore will run deeper than radar can confirm. On those stretches the drilling plan can add trial pits or boreholes, which we arrange on request.

Standard route survey or L-section – which suits your Nadiad order?

The standard survey locates and marks existing services and records them in plan, with depths at the points measured. Some cabling scopes also ask for a depth profile of every detected service along the route; that is the L-section survey, and it should be ordered at the start so the field work is planned for it. The separate page on L-section GPR survey in Nadiad explains when it is worth the higher rate.

What does the Nadiad cable survey cost?

Billing works the same way for every route: the metre rate multiplied by the order length, with GST added on top.

  • Standard route survey – ₹24 per metre, i.e. ₹24,000 for each km.
  • Route survey with L-section – ₹32 per metre.
  • Shortest billable order – 4 km; a 2 km job is charged as 4 km.
  • Project minimum of ₹1,00,000, because Nadiad lies outside Delhi NCR.
  • Order-wide discount – 25% once the total passes 100 km, 40% beyond 500 km and 50% beyond 1,000 km.

Mobilisation from Faridabad, night-shift working, traffic arrangements and permissions, and CAD/GIS drawing sets sit outside the metre rate and appear as separate lines on the quote. The complete card is on our GPR survey price list.

What do you receive when the field work ends?

  • Paint marks on the surface for each detected line, coloured by utility type, with approximate depth written alongside.
  • A survey report covering the stretches scanned, depth reached section by section, locations we could not access and a confidence note for each line.
  • Separate records for every rail, highway, canal and drain crossing on the route.
  • The L-section profile where it was ordered; CAD and GIS drawings on request, priced on their own.

For the town-wide picture of utilities, ground and access, see our GPR survey in Nadiad page, and for background on why conversion work starts with a survey, read MGVCL underground cabling and GPR survey.

FAQ

Questions about cable route surveys in Nadiad

How long does a cable route survey in Nadiad take?

It depends on route length, traffic and how many crossings the alignment has. Open rural links move quickly, while old town lanes and night-only windows on busy roads are slower. On open corridors with day and night shifts our peak output has been 100 km a day. Your quote carries a realistic programme for your specific route.

Can a live 11 kV cable be traced without a shutdown?

Yes. Detection does not need the supply switched off. Electromagnetic locating can pick up the signal of an energised cable, and radar shows its position and approximate depth independently. Our crew never touches or opens the cable; we only locate and record it so your team can plan the new route around it.

Will the survey also show water pipes and OFC ducts?

Yes. Radar responds to plastic pipes and ducts as well as metal ones, so water lines, drains and telecom ducts on the route are recorded alongside power cables. Very small or very deep services can be missed, and the report says where detection was limited so nobody assumes a stretch is clear.

Is the ₹1 lakh minimum charged on a short Nadiad route?

Yes, because Nadiad is outside Delhi NCR. A 4 km standard survey works out to ₹96,000, so the ₹1,00,000 project minimum is what applies. A 4 km L-section survey comes to ₹1,28,000, which is already above the minimum. GST is added in both cases.

Can you find a fault on an existing HT cable in Nadiad?

Cable fault locating is something we do, but it is a separate task from a route survey and is quoted on its own. If a faulted cable sits on your new alignment, tell us when you send the route so both jobs can be planned for the same visit where practical.

What should I send to get a quote?

Send the route as KML or a drawing, the total length, the cable voltage, the survey clauses from your contract and whether an L-section is needed. Mention any night-only roads or access limits. Call +91 99100 10209 or email kumar@mezux.in and we will reply with a written quote.
