An electric cable route GPR survey in Dahod is done before any trench or bore is opened on a planned HT or LT cable, and it locates and records each buried service, crossing and depth on that line. Our charge for this Dahod work is ₹24 per metre, which becomes ₹32 per metre for a Dahod route surveyed with an L-section; orders carry a 4 km minimum, and Dahod, lying outside Delhi NCR, also attracts the ₹1,00,000 floor per project. What does an electric cable route GPR survey in Dahod cover?
An electric cable route GPR survey in Dahod looks at the strip of ground your new HT or LT cable will occupy and tells you what is already buried there. The radar cart is pushed along the planned alignment and across it at intervals, so services running parallel to the cable and those cutting across it are both picked up.
For each stretch, the record shows:
- where every detected service lies in relation to your proposed alignment;
- its approximate depth at the points where it was measured;
- the type of service, where signal and surface evidence allow it to be identified;
- road, rail and nala crossings, each logged separately;
- stretches we could not reach, such as locked plots or waterlogged verges, so nobody treats them as clear.
Where a conductive cable or metal pipe is present, electromagnetic (EM) locating runs alongside the radar. That pairing is the core of underground electrical line tracing in Dahod: two methods agreeing on one line gives a trenching or drilling crew more confidence than either alone. Our HT/LT cable route survey service explains the method in general terms.
Which crossings on Dahod cable routes need extra care?
Dahod sits on the Western Railway main line between Vadodara and Ratlam, and that corridor is the crossing most cable routes here have to plan around. A bore or casing under the track needs existing railway cables and any pipes near the formation recorded before the drilling design is fixed.
Other points that usually get their own scan passes:
- NH-47, the Ahmedabad–Indore highway through Dahod, where fibre ducts and older cables often follow the road edge;
- the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway corridor across Dahod district, where the corridor owner's records and consent come before any scanning;
- town roads and market lanes, where water, drainage and LT supply share very little width;
- nalas and seasonal streams, dry in summer and flowing in the monsoon, so the scan date changes what can be covered.
For bores under these points, our article on HDD crossing surveys in Gujarat sets out what to check at the entry and exit pits.
How does Dahod's ground affect what radar can see?
Much of Dahod district is hilly, with stony and rocky patches between stretches of softer soil. Rock fragments scatter the radar signal and can throw up reflections that look like buried objects, so readings on such stretches are cross-checked across neighbouring scan lines before anything is painted on the road.
Depth reach is not one fixed figure here. It varies with soil and moisture: wet clay cuts it down, saline ground does the same, and dry sandy or gravelly ground lets the signal travel further. A route scanned in May can behave quite differently in August. Our report states the depth reached on each section, and where a service is suspected below that reach, we say so instead of leaving a blank that looks like empty ground. Trial pits or boreholes can be added on request to settle a doubtful point.
Whose services will a new Dahod cable meet?
Dahod is one of the seven central Gujarat districts served by MGVCL, so on most routes the existing power network is MGVCL's distribution system. Alongside it, expect:
- water supply and drainage lines laid by the local body;
- OFC ducts belonging to telecom operators, especially along highways;
- railway signalling and power cables close to the track corridor;
- street-light cables and private service connections into shops and houses.
Collecting whatever drawings these owners can share comes first; the radar then confirms, corrects or adds to them. In March 2020, MGVCL's underground line length was only 0.114 times its overhead length, so older buried lines are often missing from any drawing and the field result has to stand on its own. For background on the conversion programme, read why GPR survey comes first on MGVCL underground cabling. We have no affiliation with MGVCL or any other DISCOM.
Do you need HT cable route mapping alone, or an L-section too?
HT cable route mapping in Dahod at the standard rate gives you the position of each detected service in plan, depth where measured, and ground marks your crew can follow. If your work order asks for a depth profile, the L-section survey adds it: the depth of every detected service is shown along the length of your cable, so the cable designer knows where the new line has to dip below or rise above each crossing service. Decide before the crew mobilises, because the field passes are planned differently. See our L-section GPR survey in Dahod page for more.
How much does an electric grid underground survey in Dahod cost?
Our rates for Dahod cable routes fit in a few lines. Route survey on its own: ₹24 per metre. With an L-section added: ₹32 per metre. Under 4 km, a Dahod cable route is still billed as 4 km, and as Dahod sits outside Delhi NCR the project total has a ₹1,00,000 floor. GST is charged on top.
- A 3 km standard route is billed as 4 km, which is ₹96,000; the ₹1,00,000 project floor then takes over.
- A 7 km route with an L-section comes to 7,000 m × ₹32 = ₹2,24,000.
- Once an order crosses 100 km, every metre is billed 25% lower; the reduction rises to 40% above 500 km and 50% above 1,000 km.
Mobilisation from Faridabad, any night-shift working, traffic arrangements or permissions, and CAD/GIS drawing sets are not covered by the per-metre figure; each is priced as its own line. Slab-wise figures for larger orders are set out in our GPR survey price list.
What do you receive when the survey is finished?
On site, each traced line is painted on the surface in its utility colour with an approximate depth, so excavation can begin on cleared stretches without waiting for paperwork. You then get a survey report covering what was scanned, the depth reached section by section, the crossings, and every area left unscanned with the reason. The L-section profile comes with the ₹32 per metre survey when you order it; CAD or GIS drawing sets are quoted separately.
Locating a fault on an existing cable is a different task from route survey and can be added as its own item. For the town-level picture, see our main GPR survey in Dahod page, or send your alignment through the quote form.

Owned radar, no hire margin
All 58 GPR systems belong to Mezux, so the per-metre rate carries no rental mark-up and the start date never hangs on a hired unit.
Order the L-section at the start
Asking for the depth profile up front avoids a second trip to Dahod, which costs far more than planning both passes together.
Whole-order slab discounts
Routes over 100 km are billed 25% lower on every metre, with deeper cuts once the order passes 500 km and 1,000 km.
Bundle nearby routes in one order
Adding other stretches from the same contract can lift the total past a discount slab and spread one mobilisation over more kilometres.
Separate items listed line by line
Mobilisation, night work, traffic permissions and CAD/GIS drawing sets appear as their own lines, so the survey rate stays easy to compare.
Clear limits written in the report
Depth reached and unscanned areas are stated plainly, so you pay for trial pits only where a real doubt remains.

Questions about cable route survey in Dahod
Can GPR tell an HT cable from a water pipe on a Dahod route?
Not always from radar alone. Radar shows where a buried object is and roughly how deep; identifying it draws on the reflection shape, the EM signal on conductive lines, surface fittings such as valve boxes and joint markers, and owner drawings. Where identity stays uncertain, the report labels the line unidentified rather than guessing, and a trial pit can confirm it.
Does the survey cover the bore path under the railway at Dahod?
Yes, when the crossing lies on your route. We scan the approach on both sides and the pit locations, and record services found near the track. Work inside railway land needs the railway's permission, which you or your client arrange; that section starts once the permission is in hand.
How long does a Dahod cable survey take?
The route matters more than the distance. Open highway shoulders move quickly, while town lanes, market roads and crossings take longer. Our peak on open corridors is 100 km a day with day and night crews, but a mixed Dahod route will run slower, and the quote carries a day-by-day programme for your alignment.
Is a 2 km cable route charged as 2 km?
No. The minimum billable length is 4 km, so a 2 km route is billed as 4 km. The ₹1,00,000 per-project minimum also applies, because Dahod is outside Delhi NCR. For a short route, adding nearby stretches from the same contract to the order usually gives better value.
Will you mark the lines on the road for our trenching crew?
Yes. Ground marking is part of the field work: each detected service is painted in its utility colour with an approximate depth written beside it. Marks fade under traffic and rain, so start excavation soon after marking, or photograph the marks against fixed landmarks for later reference.
Do you also locate faults on existing cables in Dahod?
Cable fault locating is a separate job from route survey, and we can take it on as its own item. Share the cable type, roughly how long it is and what the network staff have observed; that job is priced on its own, apart from the per-metre survey rate.
