Quick answer

An L-section GPR survey in Dahod scans your planned cable route, locates the services already buried along it and adds a depth profile showing how deep each one lies along the route. Mezux Touch charges ₹32 per metre for it, with a 4 km minimum and a ₹1,00,000 project minimum outside Delhi NCR. GST extra.

What is an L-section GPR survey in Dahod?

An L-section GPR survey in Dahod is a route survey with one addition. Alongside the plan position of each buried service, you get a longitudinal profile showing how deep every detected line sits along the length of your planned cable. A plan view tells you where a water pipe crosses your path; the profile tells you whether your cable should go above it or below it.

Many DISCOM and EPC cabling scopes ask the contractor to submit such a profile with the route survey. If yours does, one field programme covers both. The general method is described on our L-section GPR survey service page.

When does a Dahod cabling job need GPR profiling?

GPR profiling in Dahod earns its cost wherever the vertical position of existing services drives a design decision. Typical cases:

  • an HDD bore under the Western Railway line or NH-47, where bore depth has to clear what lies beneath the crossing;
  • a trench that must pass under a water main or drain rather than over it;
  • hilly parts of the district where ground level rises and falls along the route, so one depth figure for the whole stretch would mislead;
  • congested town roads where several services are stacked at different depths in a narrow width.

On a straight rural verge with few crossings, a standard route survey at ₹24 per metre may be all the job needs. Our HT/LT cable route survey in Dahod page covers that option.

How is the profile built on site?

  1. The crew checks the route on the ground against your alignment and any owner drawings you share.
  2. Radar lines are run along the alignment and across it, with extra passes at crossings.
  3. Conductive lines are traced with an electromagnetic locator to back up the radar.
  4. Detected services are marked on the surface with an approximate depth.
  5. Depths are read from the radar record and the profile is prepared along the route.

How far down the radar can see depends on the soil and how wet it is. Stony ground, common across Dahod district, scatters the signal, while wet clay soaks it up. The report gives the depth reached on each section, so nobody reads the profile as complete below that level.

Is this the same as a land survey for underground electrical cabling?

No, and the difference matters when a work order is drafted. A land survey for underground electrical cabling in Dahod usually means measuring the surface: levels, boundaries and road widths. A GPR L-section records what lies underneath. The two often sit side by side in a cabling scope, but they are different tasks.

Our part is the subsurface: buried services, where they run and how deep they are. If your tender also calls for a topographic or level survey, list it as its own item so that each piece of work is priced and planned properly.

What does an L-section survey cost in Dahod?

The L-section rate is ₹32 per metre, with GST added. Billing starts at 4 km, and as Dahod is beyond Delhi NCR, the project cannot be billed below ₹1,00,000. A few worked figures:

  • 4 km of L-section: 4,000 m × ₹32 = ₹1,28,000, which is already above the floor.
  • 150 km: the 25% slab applies to every metre, giving ₹36,00,000 in place of ₹48,00,000.
  • Beyond 500 km the reduction becomes 40%, and beyond 1,000 km it becomes 50%.

Four things are billed outside the per-metre figure: moving crew and systems from Faridabad (mobilisation), any night-shift work, traffic arrangements or permissions, and CAD/GIS drawing sets. All slabs are compared on the price list.

What do you hand over for a cable route L-section drawing in Dahod?

You receive ground marking on site, a survey report setting out coverage and limits, and the L-section profile of detected services along your route. If your client wants the cable route L-section drawing in Dahod built into a CAD or GIS drawing set, we can provide that as well, quoted separately.

For the wider town picture, see GPR survey in Dahod. For how distribution scopes use these profiles, read our guide to L-section drawings for DISCOM cable work. Mezux Touch is an independent survey company with no affiliation to MGVCL.

TIP 1

Read your work order

Check whether the scope asks for a depth profile; ordering it later means sending the crew back over the same route.

TIP 2

List every crossing early

Mark the railway, highway and nala crossings on your alignment so the extra radar passes are planned from day one.

TIP 3

Share owner drawings

Any water, telecom or power drawings you hold help the team check radar findings against what is already on record.

TIP 4

Avoid the wettest weeks

Saturated ground shortens radar reach, so profiles taken in dry weather usually show deeper services more clearly.

TIP 5

Plan bores from profile

Set bore depth with clearance from the detected services, and confirm any doubtful point with a trial pit before drilling.

One field programme, two outputs

Plan survey and depth profile come from the same site visit, so you pay for one mobilisation instead of two trips to Dahod.

Profile only where your scope needs it

If the contract asks for a profile on some stretches only, tell us; the remaining length can be quoted at the ₹24 standard rate.

Slab discount on the whole order

The 25% cut on every metre starts once the order passes 100 km; it deepens to 40% after 500 km and to half price after 1,000 km.

Company-owned radar fleet

Our 58 GPR systems are not rented, so no equipment hire charge is buried inside the ₹32 per metre rate.

Extras priced in the open

Mobilisation, night working, permissions and CAD/GIS drawing sets are listed separately, so you can decide which ones your contract actually requires.

Fewer trial pits

A profile that states the depth reached on each section lets you limit trial pits to the few points where real doubt remains.

FAQ

Questions about L-section survey in Dahod

Can I add an L-section after a standard survey is finished?

Yes, though a second visit generally works out dearer than booking the profile up front: the crew must come back to Dahod, and profile passes are laid out differently. Where a client might want a profile later, including the L-section survey from day one is the cheaper route.

Does the L-section show the depth of my new cable?

No. It shows the depth of existing services detected along your route. Your designer uses that information to decide where the new cable should run, at what depth, and where it has to go over or under a service it crosses.

Which services appear on the Dahod profile?

Everything the radar and EM locator detect along the route: power cables, water and drainage pipes, telecom ducts and lines whose type could not be confirmed. Those uncertain lines are shown as unidentified rather than being left off the profile.

Is the ₹1,00,000 minimum charged on top of the per-metre amount?

No. It is a floor, not an extra fee. If an L-section order at ₹32 per metre totals less than ₹1,00,000, the project is billed at ₹1,00,000. Above that, you pay the per-metre total plus any separately quoted items and GST.

Can GPR profiling reach the depth of an HDD bore?

Not always. Radar reach depends on soil and moisture, and a deep bore may run below it. The report states the depth reached on each section; where the bore goes deeper, plan further checks such as trial pits or boreholes at the critical points.

Do you need our cable alignment before quoting?

Yes. A drawing or KML of the alignment lets us measure the billable length, spot crossings and plan the programme. A sketch with start and end points is enough for a first estimate, and the final quote follows once the route is fixed.
