Quick answer

An L-section GPR survey in Vadodara adds a depth profile of every detected service along your planned cable route, on top of the normal route record. Mezux Touch charges ₹32 per metre for it, against ₹24 for a standard survey, with a 4 km minimum, slab discounts above 100 km and GST extra.

The profile shows how deep each detected service sits along your route.

The radar pass that finds each service also measures its depth.

Long routes are profiled continuously, with each crossing recorded on the way.

What is an L-section GPR survey in Vadodara?

It is our standard cable route survey with one addition: a depth profile. Along the length of your planned cable, the profile shows every existing service picked up by radar and locator, and how deep each one sits. The designer can then set the level of the new cable so it passes over or under those services with clearance, instead of discovering a clash in an open trench.

Some engineers call this GPR profiling. Around Vadodara it is requested mostly on underground cabling packages, where a cable route L-section drawing often appears among the contractor's submissions. Your own work order will say whether a profile is needed.

The L-section service page explains the method for any city; this page sticks to what is particular to Vadodara.

Where does a depth profile matter most on Vadodara routes?

  • Vishwamitri river and nala crossings. The profile shows the services on each bank and how much room the cable has to dip under them.
  • NH-48 and Ahmedabad–Vadodara Expressway crossings. These are usually drilled, and the profile helps fix a bore level clear of what already lies in the road.
  • Railway crossings. Lines running through Vadodara Junction need a known depth for every service near the bore.
  • Crowded city roads. Where water, drainage, gas and telecom lines sit at different levels, the profile shows the gap the new cable can use.

Our Vadodara notes put radar reach at 2.5–3.5 m in open ground, helped by the city's alluvium with moderate clay. Close to the river and after the monsoon the reach can be shorter. The report states the depth achieved for each section, and where the profile stops above a planned bore level we say so. Trial pits or boreholes can be arranged on request to confirm a critical depth.

Is it the same as a land survey for underground electrical cabling in Vadodara?

No. A land or topographic survey records the surface – road edges, levels, kerbs and structures – and says nothing about what lies underneath. The L-section GPR survey records the buried services below your route. Many cabling jobs need both. We supply the underground part, and the surface survey is normally arranged separately by the contractor or designer.

What does an L-section survey cost in Vadodara?

  • ₹32 per metre, which is ₹32,000 per km, before GST.
  • Whole-order discount: above 100 km the rate falls to ₹24/m, above 500 km to ₹19.20/m and above 1,000 km to ₹16/m, on every metre of the order.
  • Minimums: 4 km of survey length, and because Vadodara is outside Delhi NCR, ₹1,00,000 per project. A 4 km L-section comes to ₹1,28,000, so it already clears that floor.

The rate covers survey work only; the crew's journey from Faridabad, any night-time shifts, traffic marshalling or road permissions and drawing sets in CAD/GIS are quoted on top. If only part of a route needs a profile, that part can be ordered as L-section and the rest as a standard survey at ₹24 per metre. All slabs are on the GPR survey price list.

How do you order it with a cable route survey?

Send the route, mark which lengths need a profile and tell us where the route starts. Ordering the L-section together with the Vadodara HT/LT cable route survey means one field visit and one mobilisation instead of two. Cabling work orders in the MGVCL area often ask contractors for a depth profile, but check your own order. Mezux Touch is independent of MGVCL and is not affiliated with any DISCOM.

To plan the job we need four things:

  • the route as a KML file or marked drawing;
  • the lengths that need a profile, if not the whole route;
  • the planned trench or bore depth at crossings, so we can tell you early whether radar alone will reach it;
  • your target start date and any working-hour limits on busy roads.

For background, read our article on L-sections for DISCOM cable work or the main Vadodara GPR survey page.

STEP 1

Share route and start

Share a KML file or route drawing and tell us where the profile should begin, usually the substation or the feeding end.

STEP 2

Scan the whole length

Radar and electromagnetic locators cover the full route in one visit, so the plan record and the profile come from the same data.

STEP 3

Check depth at crossings

Road, rail and Vishwamitri crossings get extra passes, because that is where the cable level is most likely to change.

STEP 4

Build the depth profile

Detected services are placed in order along the route with their depths, giving the designer a clear picture of clearances.

STEP 5

Issue with the report

The profile goes out with the signed survey report, which states depth reached by section and any lengths left unscanned.

Profile only where needed

Order the L-section on lengths your client wants profiled and a standard survey at ₹24 per metre on the rest of the route.

Order it with the route

Adding the profile after a standard survey means another visit and another mobilisation; one combined order costs noticeably less.

Combine routes past 100 km

Above 100 km the whole order drops to ₹24 per metre for L-section, so grouping feeders into one package pays off.

Mark crossings on your route

Telling us about river, road and rail crossings in advance lets us plan extra passes without a return trip.

Clear on the project floor

A 4 km L-section is ₹1,28,000, above the ₹1 lakh outside-NCR minimum, so even short profiled routes avoid a top-up.

Ask only for drawings required

CAD/GIS sets are quoted separately from the survey; naming the one format your client needs keeps the total down.

FAQ

Questions about L-section surveys in Vadodara

Is the L-section done in the same visit as the route survey?

Yes, when both are ordered together. The depth profile is built from the same field data as the plan record, so one visit covers both. Adding it later usually means rescanning the route, which brings a second mobilisation charge.

Can only part of my route have an L-section?

Yes. Mark the lengths that need a profile – often crossings and crowded city stretches – and order the remainder as a standard survey at ₹24 per metre. The quote shows both quantities separately so the cost of each is clear.

Does the profile show the level of the new cable?

No. It shows the existing services we detected and their depths along your route. Your designer uses that to fix the level of the new cable, which then goes on their own design drawing rather than on our survey record.

What if radar cannot reach the depth I need?

The report states the depth achieved section by section. Where a planned bore or trench goes below that, we say so plainly and recommend confirming it with a trial pit or borehole there, which we can arrange on request as a separately quoted item.

Who uses the L-section on a cabling job?

Mostly the cable designer, who sets the cable level from it, and the site engineer, who checks clearances before trenching or drilling. Clients often ask for it in the contractor's submission as evidence that existing services were considered along the route.

Is GST included in the ₹32 per metre rate?

No. ₹32 per metre is the rate before GST, which is added on the invoice. The same goes for mobilisation, night working, traffic or permission work and any CAD or GIS drawing set; each appears as its own line in the quote.
