Quick answer

A GPR survey in Padra, Vadodara locates buried power cables, water and drainage pipes, gas lines and telecom ducts before you excavate. Mezux Touch scans with ground penetrating radar plus an EM locator, paints findings on the ground and reports depths. Standard rate ₹24 per metre, minimum 4 km, with a ₹1,00,000 project minimum outside Delhi NCR; GST extra.

Rates and page checked:

GPR cart being pushed along a road edge during a utility scan
Radar runs along the road edge, usually the most crowded strip in Padra town.
Technician using an electromagnetic locator to trace a buried cable
EM tracing confirms metallic feeders before radar results are marked.
Industrial plant with pipe racks and internal roads seen from outside
Plots in Padra's industrial belt need a permit before any scan starts.
Cross-section graphic of soil layers showing buried services at different depths
Alluvium with moderate clay usually allows 2.5–3.5 m reach in open ground.

What does a GPR survey in Padra, Vadodara cover?

A GPR survey in Padra, Vadodara is a walk-over scan of the ground along your planned trench, bore or foundation line. The radar sends short pulses into the soil and records the echoes that come back from pipes, cables, ducts and old trenches. An EM locator then follows any metallic cable or pipe that can carry a signal, which confirms what the radar suggests.

Padra is a taluka town west of Vadodara, so one order here can take in three quite different kinds of ground: built-up town roads, rural feeders running out to the villages, and industrial plots along the roads out of town. We plan each as a separate stretch, because the services, the traffic and the access rules differ in each.

The output is the same everywhere: paint marks on the surface, a log of each detected line with its approximate depth, and a written report that also lists the places we could not reach. Our Vadodara GPR survey page explains how we work across the wider district.

Which Padra stretches need the most care?

  • Town core and market roads. Older water and drainage lines, service connections to shops, telecom ducts and low-tension cables share narrow road edges. Radar lines here are run closer together and checked twice.
  • Vadodara–Padra road and the road towards Jambusar. Widening, divider and footpath work along these main routes brings new ducts and cables in beside older ones, often at different depths on the two sides.
  • Industrial belt. Plots carry their own earthing grids, process and effluent lines, fire-water mains and internal cable trenches. Entry is by plant permit, and we work to the site's safety rules.
  • Village feeders. Rural distribution and water supply lines often follow field edges and kachcha roads with no drawings at all. Irrigation channels and nalas crossing the route are recorded separately.

Telling us which of these your route passes through lets us size the crew and the number of shifts correctly before we quote.

How is cable detection in Padra done when records are missing?

Cable detection in Padra starts with whatever records exist, but on rural feeders and older plots those records are often a hand sketch or nothing at all. So the field method has to stand on its own:

  1. An EM locator goes first wherever a cable or metallic pipe can be energised or gives a passive signal. It produces a quick, dependable line for conductive services.
  2. GPR is then run across the route at regular spacing. Radar finds non-metallic items that EM cannot, such as PVC water pipes, HDPE telecom ducts and concrete drains.
  3. Where both methods agree, the mark goes down with higher confidence. Where only one sees a line, the report says so.
  4. If a crossing is critical and the signal unclear, we recommend a trial pit at that spot. Trial pits and boreholes are done on request and quoted separately.

Locating a fault on an existing cable is a different job from route survey; our crews handle underground cable detection and fault locating as separate tasks.

How deep can radar read in Padra's ground?

Padra lies on the same central Gujarat alluvium as the rest of Vadodara district. Mezux notes for this ground show radar typically reaching 2.5 to 3.5 metres in open ground where the soil is alluvium with moderate clay. That covers the depth at which most distribution cables, water lines and telecom ducts are laid.

Two local conditions eat into that range. Irrigated fields and low ground that holds water after the monsoon make the soil wetter and the signal weaker, and heavy clay patches do the same. Where reach drops, the report states the depth achieved in that section rather than quoting one figure for the whole route. If your bore or trench has to go below what the radar could see, you hear it from us before the work is planned, not after.

What will a Padra survey cost?

The rate card is simple. A standard GPR route survey is ₹24 for each metre surveyed, which works out to ₹24,000 a kilometre. If you need a depth profile of the detected services along the route, the L-section survey is ₹32 a metre. Every order is billed for at least 4 km.

Because Padra is outside Delhi NCR, a ₹1,00,000 minimum per project also applies. In practice a short standard job of 3 or 4 km comes to ₹1,00,000, since 4 km at ₹24 a metre is only ₹96,000. Large orders get a whole-order discount: 25% once the order passes 100 km, 40% past 500 km and 50% past 1,000 km, applied to every metre.

Mobilisation, night-shift work, traffic arrangements or permissions and CAD/GIS drawing sets are quoted separately, and GST is added on top. The full table and worked examples are on our GPR survey price list.

Do you also need underground utility mapping in Padra?

Underground utility mapping in Padra goes one step past ground marking. Instead of paint that fades in a few weeks, the detected lines are kept as a record you can hand to designers, the plant's maintenance team or the next contractor. This matters most on industrial plots, where the same ground is opened again and again over the years.

We can prepare that record as a report with sketches, or as CAD and GIS layers quoted separately. For a cable route that must be submitted with a depth profile, see the HT/LT cable route survey for Vadodara; for a district-wide job, the Vadodara utility mapping page.

How does a crew get to Padra, and who are we?

Crews and radar systems travel from our Faridabad base. Mezux Touch has worked in underground survey since 2003 and owns 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs, run by our own staff. Nothing is hired in and no part of a job is sub-let. The company holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certificates.

Electricity distribution around Padra is handled by MGVCL, the DISCOM for central Gujarat. Mezux Touch is not affiliated with MGVCL or any other DISCOM; we work for the contractors, plant owners and engineers who send us their routes. Send yours through the quote form.

STEP 1

Share the route

Send a KML, sketch or chainage list of your Padra route, with the work type and the depth your trench or bore will reach.

STEP 2

Records and access

We collect any feeder or plant drawings and confirm who gives access, whether a road owner, a village panchayat or the plant safety office.

STEP 3

Radar and EM scan

The crew runs GPR lines across the route and traces conductive cables with an EM locator, checking each result on screen.

STEP 4

Paint on the ground

Each detected line is marked in its utility colour with an approximate depth, so the excavator operator sees it before digging.

STEP 5

Report and records

You receive a written report with coverage, depth by section and no-access areas; CAD, GIS or L-section are quoted separately where needed.

If you have other routes in Vadodara district, put them in one order so the combined length meets the minimums once instead of several times.

Order the L-section at the start

Adding a depth profile later means a second visit. Ordering it upfront at ₹32 a metre avoids paying mobilisation twice.

Send a clean route file

A KML or marked map with chainages lets us price accurately and avoids padding the quote for unknowns on rural feeders.

Arrange plant access early

Gate passes, inductions and permit-to-work slots sorted before arrival keep the crew scanning instead of waiting at the gate.

Plan around wet ground

Scanning after fields dry out gives better radar depth and fewer repeat runs than working straight after heavy rain.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Padra

Is there a GPR survey company near me in Padra?

Our crews are not stationed in Padra; they travel with their own radar systems from our Faridabad base. For you that means one call or email to +91 99100 10209 or kumar@mezux.in, a quote based on your route, and a date agreed before the crew leaves. Mobilisation is quoted separately.

Can you scan inside a running chemical or engineering plant at Padra?

Yes, provided the plant issues permits and a safety induction. We follow the site's permit-to-work system, keep clear of hot-work zones unless cleared, and report process, effluent and fire-water lines as separate categories so your engineers can treat them with the right caution.

Will the survey find PVC water pipes under village roads?

Usually, yes. Radar picks up plastic pipes from the contrast between the pipe, the water inside it and the soil around it. Small-diameter pipes in wet clay are harder to see, and the report flags any stretch where detection is less certain.

How long does a typical Padra route take to scan?

It depends on the setting. Open rural feeders move quickly; town lanes with parked vehicles and many service connections move slowly. Our fleet's peak is 100 km a day on open corridors with day and night shifts, but a mixed Padra route is planned stretch by stretch and the programme is agreed in the quote.

Do you mark the findings on the ground?

Yes. Each line is painted in its utility colour with an approximate depth written beside it. Paint on kachcha roads and farm edges fades quickly, so excavation should follow soon after, or you can order a written or drawn record as well.

Can one order cover Padra and Vadodara city together?

Yes. A single order can include several stretches across the district. The 4 km minimum and the ₹1,00,000 project minimum then apply to the order as a whole, and the volume discount is worked out on its total length.
