Quick answer

An L-section GPR survey in Bharuch scans your planned cable or pipe route with radar and EM locators, marks each buried service and plots how deep it runs along the alignment. Mezux Touch charges ₹32 per metre, billed on at least 4 km and ₹1,00,000 per project; mobilisation, CAD/GIS drawings and GST are extra.

How does an L-section GPR survey in Bharuch work, and what do you get?

A standard route survey tells you where buried services are. An L-section GPR survey in Bharuch also tells you how deep they sit relative to one another as you move along the alignment. Our crew scans the planned path with ground penetrating radar, traces conductive lines with an electromagnetic locator, marks each find on the surface, and then sets out the detected services as a depth profile running the length of the route.

For a cable designer, that profile turns a list of scattered finds into a picture of the ground the new line has to pass through. It shows, for example:

  • where an existing water main runs shallow enough that the new cable must drop beneath it;
  • where two or three services stack at different depths near a junction;
  • where a stretch looks clear in plan but a deeper line still runs underneath;
  • which readings came from radar alone and which were confirmed by EM tracing.

Method, scope and general terms are explained on our L-section GPR survey service page. This page deals only with how the survey applies to routes in and around Bharuch.

Which Bharuch stretches need a depth profile most?

Not every metre of a route is equally tricky. Around Bharuch the profile earns its cost mainly on these kinds of stretches:

  • Approaches to the Narmada crossings. NH-48 and the Mumbai–Ahmedabad railway each bridge the river at this point, and services running between the town and the south bank tend to squeeze into the same approach corridors. Their depths decide whether a new line can go over, under or between them.
  • Crossings of NH-48 and the railway. These are usually bored rather than trenched. A profile across the crossing zone helps the drilling team pick an entry angle and bore level that keep clear of existing lines; our article on HDD crossing surveys on Gujarat roads and canals covers that planning.
  • Industrial feeders towards Dahej and Ankleshwar. Supply cables to units in these areas often share space with process pipelines, fire-water mains and effluent lines, laid at differing depths over many years.
  • Older town streets. Where water, drainage, power and telecom lines went in through separate agencies at different times, depth can change from one plot frontage to the next.

On a mixed route you can ask for the L-section only on such stretches and keep the remainder as a standard survey.

What happens on site during GPR profiling in Bharuch?

  1. Route check. We go through your alignment file and flag the river approaches, highway and rail crossings and estate gates that will need closer scanning.
  2. Longitudinal radar runs. Lines follow the planned path so every detected service can be placed on the profile, with cross-lines added at junctions and crossings.
  3. EM tracing. The locator follows conductive cables and metal pipes, which helps confirm which radar reflections belong to the same line.
  4. Depth reading. Approximate depth is taken at each detected service from the radar data, and the signal reach on that stretch is noted.
  5. Ground marking. Finds are marked on the surface with their approximate depth for the trenching or boring crew.
  6. Profile and report. The depth profile of detected services is prepared along the route and issued with the signed report, which also lists any stretch that could not be scanned.

GPR profiling in Bharuch uses the same company-owned systems and crews as a plan survey. What changes is the processing and the output, so both are delivered from a single field visit.

Is a cable route L-section drawing in Bharuch the same as a land survey for underground electrical cabling?

No, and the difference matters when you read a tender clause. A land survey for underground electrical cabling in Bharuch normally records the surface: ground levels, road edges, boundaries, poles and other visible features. Our L-section records what lies beneath that surface – the detected cables, pipes and ducts along the route and how deep each one runs.

Plenty of cabling jobs need both. If the work order asks for surface levels or a topographic plan, that is a separate survey and is not covered by our ₹32 metre rate. What we provide is the buried-services side: positions, approximate depths, ground marks, the depth profile and the report. Where your client wants the cable route L-section drawing for Bharuch issued as a formal CAD or GIS drawing set, we can prepare it, quoted separately. Our comparison of L-section and standard GPR surveys helps you decide which output your contract actually calls for.

How far can radar see under Bharuch routes?

Radar reach depends on the ground, and Bharuch has plenty of variety within short distances. Soil near the river and towards the coast at Dahej can hold more moisture and salt, and both weaken the signal. Made-up fill under town roads behaves differently from natural ground beyond the built-up area, while dry sandy patches let the pulse travel further.

A depth profile is only useful when it is honest about those limits. The report therefore states, section by section, how deep a usable signal returned, and a service lying below that reach is never drawn as a confirmed find. Where a design decision hangs on a deep line – a bore under the highway, say – a trial pit can be dug or a borehole drilled, on request, at the points that decide the design, so the depth is proved rather than estimated.

What does an L-section survey in Bharuch cost?

The L-section rate is ₹32 per metre of route, against ₹24 for a standard GPR survey; the extra ₹8 pays for building the depth profile. The usual floors apply to every order: billing starts at 4 km, and because Bharuch lies outside Delhi NCR, no project is billed below ₹1,00,000. GST is charged on top.

RouteHow it is billedBefore GST
3 km feeder near a bridge approachBilled as 4 km × ₹32₹1,28,000
12 km industrial feeder, profiled throughout12,000 m × ₹32₹3,84,000
20 km route: 6 km L-section, 14 km standard₹1,92,000 + ₹3,36,000₹5,28,000
120 km district programme, L-section1,20,000 m × ₹32, less 25%₹28,80,000

Bigger orders earn a whole-order slab on every metre: a quarter off once the total passes 100 km, 40% beyond 500 km, and half beyond 1,000 km. Four costs stay outside the metre rate and are priced on their own: crew mobilisation from Faridabad, night-shift work, traffic arrangements or permits, and CAD/GIS drawing sets. The complete rate card sits on the GPR survey price list.

Who asks for an L-section on Bharuch work, and who do we act for?

Requests usually come from cabling and EPC contractors, consultants preparing a design, and industrial units planning new feeders or pipelines inside their premises. On power distribution work, the network owner in this region is DGVCL (Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd., head office Surat), the state distribution company for south Gujarat, and some underground cabling work orders ask for a depth profile alongside the route survey.

Our company has no affiliation with DGVCL or with any other DISCOM, and we act only for the contractor, consultant or owner who places the order. Crews and all 58 GPR systems come from our Faridabad base, with nothing hired in. For the wider Bharuch picture, including other services and crossings, see our GPR survey page for Bharuch. If a feeder needs only a plan survey, the Bharuch HT/LT cable route survey page covers that option.

TIP 1

Flag the crowded stretches

Mark river approaches, highway crossings and estate roads on your KML so profiling effort goes where depth matters most.

TIP 2

Mix survey types

Order the L-section only on congested or bored stretches, and keep open rural lengths as a standard ₹24 survey.

TIP 3

Profile every bore zone

Rail and NH-48 crossings are usually drilled, so ask for the profile across the full bore length and both pits.

TIP 4

Watch the season

Wet ground after rain weakens radar reach near the river; schedule critical deep crossings for a drier spell where possible.

TIP 5

Keep the report

Paint marks fade quickly on busy roads, but the signed report and depth profile remain the record for design teams.

Profile only where needed

Pay ₹32 per metre only on the stretches that need depths, and keep the rest of a Bharuch route at the ₹24 standard rate.

One field visit

Plan survey, ground marking and depth profile all come from the same visit, so no second mobilisation from Faridabad is required.

Combine neighbouring towns

Adding Ankleshwar or Dahej routes to one order shares the travel cost and pushes the combined length towards the 100 km slab.

Slab covers the full length

Once an order crosses 100, 500 or 1,000 km, the 25%, 40% or 50% reduction applies to all of it, not only the excess.

Owned systems, payroll crews

Our GPR systems belong to the company and the operators are our own staff, so no hire charge or sub-contractor margin sits in the rate.

Extras shown as separate lines

Travel, night shifts, traffic management and drawing sets appear as their own items, so the metre rate is easy to compare.

FAQ

Questions about L-section GPR survey in Bharuch

Can the L-section cover a bore under the Mumbai–Ahmedabad rail line?

Yes, where the project owner has railway permission for us to work on that land. We profile along the planned bore path and around both pit areas as far as access allows. Railway rules decide when and where the crew may work, so the programme follows the windows granted. The report states how deep radar reached across the crossing.

Do you profile process and effluent lines inside Dahej or Ankleshwar estates?

We detect and profile whatever radar and the EM locator can find along your route, which inside estates often includes process pipes, fire-water mains and effluent lines beside cables. Each one is listed with its position, depth and probable type; who owns it and what it carries must be confirmed from estate or unit records, or by exposing it in a pit.

Do you choose the depth for our new feeder?

No. The profile shows what is already in the ground and how deep it lies; deciding where the new feeder goes stays with your designer. In practice the profile makes that choice easier, because clear depth bands and likely clashes are visible along the whole route rather than at isolated points.

How much more does a 10 km L-section cost than a standard survey?

On 10 km, the standard survey comes to ₹2,40,000 and the L-section to ₹3,20,000, both before GST, so the profile adds ₹80,000. Mobilisation, night working, traffic arrangements and drawing sets sit outside both figures, and at that length the ₹1,00,000 project minimum is already exceeded.

What happens if radar cannot reach a deep pipeline near the river?

The report says so for that section instead of guessing, and a pipeline below the signal's reach is not drawn as a confirmed find. If its depth matters to your design, we can dig a trial pit or drill a borehole at the chosen point on request and record the measured depth.

Does Mezux Touch hold any DGVCL empanelment?

No. We hold no empanelment, approval or tie-up with DGVCL or any other DISCOM. Contractors and consultants on DGVCL-area projects engage us directly, and the findings, profile and report go to them. Whether a client accepts the format depends on that client's own specification.
