Quick answer

An L-section GPR survey in Jamnagar records not just where existing services lie along your route, but how deep they run, presented as a depth profile. Mezux charges ₹32 per metre against ₹24 for a plain route survey. Orders start at 4 km, with a ₹1,00,000 project minimum outside Delhi NCR and GST added.

What is an L-section GPR survey in Jamnagar, and when is it asked for?

A standard route survey tells you where services are. An L-section GPR survey in Jamnagar also shows how deep they sit, laid out as a profile along the length of your route. With that profile a designer can see at a glance where a new cable or pipe must drop deeper, where it can stay shallow, and where an existing line crosses its path.

Work orders tend to ask for it when:

  • an HT or LT cable is being laid by HDD and the bore must clear existing lines;
  • a pipeline is planned at a set depth and clashes need to be known in advance;
  • a client or consultant wants depth on record for later reference, not only ground marks.

The general service is explained on our L-section GPR survey page, and the difference from a plain scan is set out in L-section vs standard GPR survey.

How does GPR profiling in Jamnagar produce the depth profile?

The crew runs radar and EM equipment along the route just as it would for a route survey. What changes is the recording and reporting: for each detected service, approximate depth is read from the radar data along the route, and those readings are brought together into a single profile of the corridor.

GPR profiling in Jamnagar has to allow for the ground. Radar depth estimates rest on how fast the signal travels through soil, and that speed shifts with moisture and salt. Coastal and low-lying land around the city can be damp and saline, which weakens returns from deeper services. The report therefore states how far radar reached on each section and flags depths that are less certain. When one depth decides the design, a trial pit or borehole can verify it on request. Background reading: how accurate GPR depths are.

Where are L-sections most useful along Jamnagar routes?

  • Bore paths under municipal roads. Roads and junctions maintained by the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation often carry water, sewer and telecom lines; a profile shows the clear depth window for a bore.
  • Cable routes feeding brass-parts units. Supply cables to many small units cross and recross estate roads, so depth matters as much as position.
  • Approaches to the western industrial belt. Roads heading towards the refinery complexes may hold pipelines and private cables whose depth any new service has to respect.
  • Drain and nala crossings. The profile shows whether a new line should pass over a culvert or beneath it.

Distribution cabling in this area falls under PGVCL, which serves Saurashtra and Kutch from its Rajkot head office. We have no affiliation with PGVCL or any DISCOM; the survey is carried out for the party that orders it, nothing more.

What does an L-section survey in Jamnagar cost?

The L-section rate is ₹32 per metre of route, compared with ₹24 for a standard survey; the extra ₹8 a metre pays for the depth profile. A 5 km route costs ₹1,60,000 with an L-section, against ₹1,20,000 without one. Short jobs are billed as 4 km, so a 3 km L-section comes to ₹1,28,000 – already above the ₹1,00,000 floor that applies to every project outside Delhi NCR. GST is added on top.

The whole-order slabs hold for Jamnagar L-section orders as well: above 100 km all metres drop by 25%, a Jamnagar profile order over 500 km gets 40% off, and one over 1,000 km is billed at half. The ₹32 metre rate leaves out the trip from Faridabad, night working, road permissions or traffic control, and any CAD/GIS output, each of which is quoted on its own. All slabs are on the price list.

Is this a land survey for underground electrical cabling in Jamnagar?

Not in the land-records sense. Searches that Jamnagar teams run for a land survey for underground electrical cabling usually come from people who need to know what lies beneath the ground before cable goes in, and that is what this survey provides: existing services, their positions and their depths. It does not fix property boundaries or produce a topographic survey.

If the client needs a cable route L-section drawing, Jamnagar consultants can work from the depth profile in our report; formal CAD/GIS drawing sets can be prepared as well and are quoted separately. For the wider city service see GPR survey in Jamnagar, and for cable-only scope see the HT/LT cable route survey in Jamnagar.

STEP 1

Mark the L-section stretches

Tell us which parts of the route need a depth profile and which need only a standard scan.

STEP 2

Scan the full alignment

Radar and EM passes run along the route and across junctions, capturing position and depth data together.

STEP 3

Read depths section-wise

Depth estimates are taken from the radar data, allowing for how ground conditions change along the Jamnagar route.

STEP 4

Build the depth profile

Detected services are plotted on one profile so the designer can judge clearances for the new line at a glance.

STEP 5

Verify the critical points

Where one depth decides the design, a trial pit or borehole can be added on request to confirm it.

Depth profile at ₹32 a metre

One metre rate covers both the route scan and the depth profile, so a 10 km route costs ₹3,20,000 before GST.

Profile only where needed

Stretches needing just positions can stay at ₹24 a metre, with the L-section rate applied only where depth is required.

Single visit, no repeat trip

Ordering the profile with the first scan avoids a second mobilisation from Faridabad later in the project.

Slab discounts still apply

L-section programmes past 100 km get 25% off every metre; past 500 km 40%; past 1,000 km half the rate.

Company-owned systems

Our own radar fleet and crews carry out the work, so there is no rental cost built into the metre rate.

Drawings quoted openly

If CAD/GIS drawing sets are wanted on top of the report profile, they are priced as a separate, visible line.

FAQ

Questions about L-section survey in Jamnagar

How accurate are the depths in the profile?

They are radar estimates, and how far you can rely on them depends on ground conditions and the size of the service. In dry, uniform soil they are generally dependable; in wet or saline ground they are less certain, and the report flags such readings. Depths that decide the design can be confirmed by a trial pit on request.

Can I order an L-section for only part of my route?

Yes. Mark the stretches that need a depth profile, and the rest can be scanned as a standard survey. Each part is billed at its own rate, and the combined length still counts towards the 4 km minimum, the ₹1,00,000 project floor and any discount slab.

Does an L-section help with HDD bore planning?

It does. The profile shows the depth of services along the bore path, so the drilling team can set entry angle and bore depth to keep clear of them. Pit locations at both ends are scanned too, so that pits are not dug onto existing lines.

Is the profile included in the report or sent separately?

It forms part of the signed survey report, alongside the list of detected services, coverage and depth reach by section. Formal CAD or GIS drawing sets, if the client needs them for submission, are prepared separately and quoted as an additional item.

Do you have a PGVCL approval for L-section work?

No. We hold no approval, empanelment or tie-up with PGVCL or any other distribution company. Contractors working on PGVCL-area cabling can commission an L-section from us directly, and they remain responsible for any submission to the DISCOM.

What if radar cannot reach the depth of a deep line?

Then the report says so for that section rather than guessing. EM locating may still give a depth for a conductive line. For non-conductive lines beyond radar reach, a borehole or trial pit at the critical point is the dependable way to confirm depth.
