Quick answer

An electric cable route GPR survey in Jamnagar checks the planned HT or LT alignment for existing cables, pipes and ducts before trenching or HDD. Mezux crews use radar plus EM locating and mark every find on site. Rates: ₹24 per metre, or ₹32 with an L-section; 4 km and ₹1,00,000 minimums apply, GST extra.

Why run an electric cable route GPR survey in Jamnagar before laying HT or LT cable?

Converting overhead lines to underground cable, adding a new feeder, or giving an industrial unit its own HT supply all need a clear trench or bore path. An electric cable route GPR survey in Jamnagar tells the cabling contractor what already occupies that path: older power cables, water mains, sewers, drains, telecom cables and ducts. Without one, the first sign of a clash is often a damaged line and a stopped job.

The survey answers three practical questions for the designer and the site team:

  1. Where along the alignment do existing services lie, and roughly how deep?
  2. At which crossings is the route congested enough to need a shift or a deeper bore?
  3. Which stretches could not be scanned, and for what reason?

The general method is described on our HT/LT cable route GPR survey page; this page covers how it applies to Jamnagar.

Where do HT and LT cable routes run into trouble around Jamnagar?

  • Feeder exits from substations. Outgoing cables leave substation yards in bunches, and a new circuit has to find its own space among them.
  • Brass-parts estates. Many units draw LT or HT supply, so estate roads carry service cables to plot after plot, frequently alongside water lines and drains.
  • The industrial belt to the west. Around the large refinery complexes, roads may carry pipelines and plant cables owned by private operators rather than by the corporation or the DISCOM.
  • Municipal road crossings. Junctions on Jamnagar Municipal Corporation roads gather water, sewer and telecom lines, so each crossing is scanned with extra lines rather than a single pass.

Where a crossing will be bored, the scan covers the bore path and both pit areas; our HDD route survey page explains what the drilling team receives.

How is HT cable route mapping in Jamnagar carried out on site?

A crew of our own staff walks the alignment with two kinds of equipment. The EM locator goes first to pick up conductive lines – energised cables in particular, which give a strong signal. Radar lines then run along the route and across it at regular gaps, catching non-metallic pipes, empty ducts and anything the locator missed.

That pairing is what makes underground electrical line tracing in Jamnagar dependable on busy streets, because neither method sees everything on its own. Detected services are painted or pegged in utility colours with approximate depth, and every crossing is logged. The physics is set out in how GPR traces HT and LT cables.

Depth reach varies with the ground. Saline or waterlogged soil near the coast shortens it, so the depth actually achieved is reported for each section of the route.

What does an HT/LT route survey in Jamnagar cost?

Billing follows the length of cable route surveyed. At ₹24 a metre, a 6 km LT network costs ₹1,44,000 before GST. If the work order also wants depth plotted along the route, the L-section survey at ₹32 a metre takes the same 6 km to ₹1,92,000. Routes under 4 km are billed at 4 km, and every Jamnagar project has a floor of ₹1,00,000 because the city lies outside Delhi NCR.

Programmes spread over several towns gain more. Beyond 100 km of total length a 25% discount applies to every metre; beyond 500 km it rises to 40%, and beyond 1,000 km to 50%. A 110 km L-section programme, for instance, works out to ₹26,40,000. Mobilisation, night working, traffic arrangements and permits, and any CAD/GIS drawing set are separate items. Every slab is listed on the rate card.

Who are we working for on a Jamnagar cable job?

Power distribution in Jamnagar falls under PGVCL, the state company for Saurashtra and Kutch, headquartered in Rajkot. Our clients are the EPC contractors, consultants and private owners who carry out or commission cabling work. Mezux Touch is not affiliated with PGVCL or any DISCOM and holds no approval or empanelment from them.

Crews and our 58 company-owned GPR systems travel from Faridabad for each order. For the wider city picture, including pipeline and plot scans, see GPR survey in Jamnagar; cable route work in the neighbouring district is described on the Rajkot cable route page.

STEP 1

Share the cable alignment

Send the KML, a single-line route sketch or the tender drawing, with cable type, length and the substations it connects.

STEP 2

Check existing records

We study whatever utility drawings you hold, noting estate roads, junctions and plant boundaries along the alignment.

STEP 3

Sweep with EM, radar

The locator picks up energised cables first, then radar lines cover pipes, ducts and anything non-metallic beneath the route.

STEP 4

Detail each crossing

Road junctions, drain culverts and service crossings get a tighter grid, so the designer can decide between trench and bore.

STEP 5

Issue the signed findings

The report lists each service, approximate depth, scan coverage and any stretch left unscanned, with the reason stated.

FAQ

Questions about cable route survey in Jamnagar

Can the survey tell an HT cable from an LT cable?

Not always with certainty. Size, depth and EM signal strength give clues, and a cable connected to a known feeder can be traced from its source. Where the type cannot be confirmed from the surface, the report records it as an unidentified power cable, and a trial pit can confirm it on request.

Should the survey come before or after the HDD contractor is appointed?

Before is better. The findings help decide where bores are needed, how deep they must go and where entry and exit pits can sit. If the HDD contractor is already appointed, share our report with them before drilling begins, so pit locations and the bore profile can be adjusted to the services found.

Do energised cables need to be switched off for the survey?

No. EM locating actually works best on energised cables, because the current produces a field the locator can follow. Radar is unaffected by whether a line is live. Scanning is done from the surface without disturbing anything, so no shutdown is needed.

Can several cables in one shared trench be counted individually?

Sometimes. Where cables lie a hand-width or more apart, radar and EM can often show them as separate lines. Bunched cables in one trench may appear as a single band, in which case the report gives the band's width and approximate depth, and a trial pit can count them if needed.

What happens if the planned route turns out to be too crowded?

The report shows the congested stretches, and the designer can shift the alignment, move to the other side of the road or plan a deeper bore. If an alternative alignment needs scanning, it can be surveyed during the same mobilisation and billed at the same metre rate.

How soon can a crew reach Jamnagar?

That depends on the crew schedule at the time and on your permissions, not on equipment hire, since all our systems are owned. Once the order is confirmed we give a start date in writing, and the journey from Faridabad is planned around it.
