Quick answer

As a GPR survey company in Srinagar, Mezux Touch locates power cables, water and sewer lines and telecom ducts before excavation, using company-owned radar and EM locators brought from Faridabad. Standard route survey is ₹24 a metre and the L-section version ₹32. Every order is billed on at least 4 km, every project at least ₹1,00,000, and GST is added.

Rates and page checked:

GPR cart being pushed along a paved street by a surveyor
A slow cart pass on each street side catches services before a Srinagar trench is cut.
Soil cross-section showing radar signal weakening in waterlogged ground
Near Dal Lake and the Jhelum, wet ground limits how deep radar reads.
Technician tracing a buried power cable with a handheld EM locator
EM tracing confirms live cables where radar returns are weak in saturated soil.
Bar-chart style work programme with survey stretches and dates
Valley jobs get a programme agreed in advance, with the season planned around your works and mobilisation quoted as its own line.

What does a GPR survey company in Srinagar locate, and for whom?

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, has power, water, drainage and telecom lines threaded beneath streets that run close to Dal Lake and the Jhelum. When a new cable, pipe or duct has to go in, someone must first find out what is already there. Mezux Touch does that job as a GPR survey company in Srinagar, working for contractors, consultants and asset owners who order the survey.

On a typical route we detect and mark:

  • high- and low-tension power cables and street-lighting supplies;
  • water mains and service pipes, plastic as well as metal;
  • sewers, storm drains and culverts;
  • telecom cables and fibre ducts;
  • buried chambers and unexplained voids.

Each line is painted or pegged on the ground and recorded in a signed report. Cable work is described in more detail on our underground cable detection page.

Why do the lakes and the Jhelum shape every Srinagar survey?

Water is the controlling factor here. Ground beside Dal Lake and along the Jhelum carries a high water table, and radar energy is absorbed quickly by saturated soil. The practical results are:

  • Shorter depth reach on lakeside and riverside stretches than on drier ground further away.
  • Weaker returns from small plastic pipes, which give little contrast in wet soil.
  • Access gaps where water stands on the surface or the verge is too soft to push a cart.

One depth figure for the whole city would mislead, so we never give it. The report states, section by section, how far down the radar actually read, and lists every stretch where conditions stopped us. EM locating helps on wet ground because it follows conductive cables and metal pipes by their magnetic field, not by radar reflection. Where a depth near the water must be proved, a trial pit or borehole can be opened on request, though pits close to the lakes may fill with water and need planning with the client.

Which Srinagar jobs usually call for a scan?

  1. Smart City street works. Srinagar Smart City schemes bring new drainage, cabling and paving into streets that already hold older services from several owners. Our Smart City underground mapping service is built for that mix.
  2. Power cable routes. New or replacement cables in KPDCL's supply area need a clear path past water, sewer and telecom lines.
  3. Fibre and telecom ducts. Operators extending networks along roads need to know where to place a duct or bore.
  4. Water and sewer connections. Laying a branch from a main into a building crosses the crowded strip beside the road.
  5. Building plots and compounds. Foundations, boundary walls and internal services are safer once the site has been scanned on a grid.

If you are not sure which of these fits your job, our pre-excavation utility scanning page explains the general approach.

Which survey method fits your Srinagar scope?

What you need to knowMethod we use
Whether any service crosses a planned routeStandard GPR route survey with EM tracing
How deep services run along the whole routeL-section GPR survey (adds a depth profile)
What lies under a building plot or compoundGrid scan across the site
Whether a bore path under a road is clearClose-spaced scan of bore line and pit areas

Our GPR scanning services in Srinagar can combine several of these in one visit. Tell us the purpose of the survey, not only its length, so the right mix is quoted.

How much does a ground penetrating radar survey in Srinagar cost?

A ground penetrating radar survey in Srinagar is priced by the metre: ₹24 for the standard route survey and ₹32 when an L-section is added. Two minimums apply because the city is outside Delhi NCR – 4 km of length on any order and ₹1,00,000 on any project. GST is charged on top. Some worked figures, before GST:

  • A 3.2 km street scan is billed at 4 km (₹96,000), then brought up to ₹1,00,000.
  • A 9 km cable route on standard survey costs ₹2,16,000.
  • That 9 km route with an L-section costs ₹2,88,000.
  • A 600 km valley-wide programme falls in the 40% slab: ₹86,40,000.

Volume pricing works on the entire order: go over 100 km and the discount is 25%; over 500 km, 40%; over 1,000 km, 50% – on every metre, from the first. Getting crews up from Faridabad, any night shifts, traffic control or permits, and CAD/GIS drawing sets stay outside these sums. Each slab is set out on our GPR survey rate card.

How are mobilisation and season planned for a Kashmir job?

Faridabad is home to our crews and to all 58 radar systems, so each Srinagar job is supplied from that base. Given the distance and the valley's weather, programme and mobilisation are agreed with you before any date is fixed, and travel appears on the quote as its own item. Kashmir's winters are cold and can bring snow, which may limit the days available for work, so it helps to raise timing early.

One trip can serve more than one city. Stretches in Jammu can be added to a Srinagar order, sharing mobilisation and counting together towards the discount slabs. Over 23 years, owned equipment has carried our teams through more than 1.5 lakh km of radar survey in 28+ States/UTs, with no machines hired and no work sub-let.

Is Mezux Touch linked with KPDCL or the Smart City body?

No. We have no tie with KPDCL (Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation), with Srinagar Smart City, or with any other DISCOM, civic body or development authority in the Union Territory, and none of them has approved or empanelled us. Utility detection services in Srinagar are booked with us directly by the client, and the findings are reported to that client alone.

TIP 1

Mark lakeside stretches

Show which parts of the route lie near Dal Lake or the Jhelum, since wet ground there needs extra passes.

TIP 2

Raise timing early

Valley weather and winter conditions affect working days, so discuss the preferred season when you first ask for a quote.

TIP 3

Gather existing records

Drawings from KPDCL, water and telecom owners, even partial ones, show where scanning should be closest.

TIP 4

Add Jammu stretches

Combining routes in both capitals into one order spreads mobilisation and brings the total nearer a discount slab.

TIP 5

List separate items

Say upfront if you need night working, traffic arrangements or CAD/GIS drawings, so each is priced in the first quote.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Srinagar

Can you scan right next to Dal Lake?

Yes, where the ground is firm enough to push a cart and the client has arranged access. Radar reach is usually lower on saturated lakeside ground, so we add passes, lean on EM tracing for metal lines and state the achieved depth for each section in the report.

Does winter stop survey work in Srinagar?

Not always, but cold weather and snow can reduce the days we can work and make some stretches inaccessible. Frozen or snow-covered surfaces also affect scanning. We agree the programme with you in advance and suggest the most practical window for your route.

Can GPR tell an old pipe from a new one?

Radar shows that something is buried and roughly where, not its age. Clues such as depth, size, material response and nearby chambers help us describe a find, and EM shows whether a cable is live. Uncertain identifications are labelled as such rather than guessed.

Do Smart City streets need a fresh survey?

Usually yes. Recent street works add new drainage, cables and ducts beside older services, and backfilled trenches can change what radar sees. Even if a street was surveyed before the works, a new scan before your excavation reflects what is in the ground now.

Is the 4 km minimum applied per street?

No, it applies per order. Several short streets in Srinagar can be grouped into one order, and their combined length is billed. A total below 4 km is charged as 4 km, and because Srinagar lies beyond Delhi NCR the project still cannot be billed under ₹1,00,000.

Will you send findings to KPDCL?

We report only to the client who places the order, since we have no affiliation with KPDCL or any other authority. If your contract requires you to share survey results with the power utility or another owner, you can submit our signed report yourself.
