Quick answer

Looking for a GPR survey company in Shillong? Mezux Touch locates buried power cables, water lines, drains and fibre ducts in Meghalaya's capital with its own crews and radar, mobilised from Faridabad on a programme agreed with you. Standard survey ₹24 a metre, L-section ₹32; 4 km and ₹1,00,000 minimums; GST extra.

Rates and page checked:

Mezux survey crew in safety vests standing beside radar equipment
Directly employed crews, not hired operators, carry out each Shillong scan.
Bar chart comparing survey cost per kilometre across order sizes
Bigger orders cut the rate on every metre, including Shillong stretches.
Diagram of a new utility line crossing under a road
Road crossings get closer radar spacing before any bore is drilled.
Painted ground marks showing positions of buried cables and pipes
Colour-coded marks show the digging team where each service runs.

What does a GPR survey company in Shillong do for your project?

A GPR survey company in Shillong is hired to answer one practical question before anybody digs: what is already in the ground along this route, and roughly how deep? Mezux Touch answers it with ground penetrating radar, which registers reflections from buried pipes, cables, ducts and chambers whatever they are made of, and with electromagnetic locators that follow metal lines.

On a typical engagement we:

  • scan the full alignment of a planned cable, pipe or duct, plus every road and drain crossing on it;
  • trace conductive lines with EM to confirm power and telecom cables;
  • paint or peg every detected service at ground level, colour-coded by utility and labelled with approximate depth;
  • issue a signed report covering positions, depths, methods and any stretch we could not scan.

Cable-focused jobs are described on our underground cable detection page. For background on ground, slopes and record-keeping in the city, read our guide to underground utility survey in Shillong.

Who books ground penetrating radar survey work in Shillong?

Requests in a hill capital tend to come from a familiar set of clients:

  • Electrical contractors laying or replacing HT and LT cables in the MePDCL supply area, who need to know where existing lines run before trenching.
  • Telecom and fibre contractors routing ducts along road edges or across junctions.
  • Water supply and drainage contractors rebuilding pipes and drains on sloping streets.
  • Builders and institutions preparing a hillside plot or campus for foundations or new connections.
  • Design consultants who want a verified picture of existing services before fixing an alignment.

A ground penetrating radar survey in Shillong is ordered by, and reported to, whoever places the order. We have no tie with MePDCL or the Shillong Municipal Board, nor with any other power utility, civic body or development authority.

How do our crews and systems reach Shillong?

Every Shillong job is mobilised from our Faridabad base. Because it is a hill capital with heavy monsoon rainfall, we do not apply a standard schedule; the programme and the mobilisation are planned with each client. Points we settle together before dates are fixed include:

  1. Season. Whether the scope can wait for a drier window or must proceed during the rains.
  2. Working hours. Busy hill roads may only be workable in certain hours; night working, if needed, is quoted separately.
  3. Permissions. Road consents and traffic arrangements are the project owner's responsibility and are billed outside our rate.
  4. Scope grouping. Stretches in Guwahati or elsewhere in the region can join the same trip.

We own 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs and never sub-let, so the crew that arrives is ours and travels with the systems your scope needs. Mobilisation is a stand-alone quote item. We do not promise travel times; dates are confirmed in writing once the plan is agreed.

What do GPR scanning services in Shillong cost?

GPR scanning services in Shillong follow our national rate card: ₹24 per metre for a standard route survey and ₹32 per metre where an L-section depth profile is also needed. Two minimums apply here. Routes under 4 km are invoiced at 4 km, and because Shillong is outside Delhi NCR, a project is never billed below ₹1,00,000.

Example scopeHow it is billedBefore GST
3 km standard survey4 km = ₹96,000, raised to project floor₹1,00,000
4 km L-section survey4,000 m × ₹32₹1,28,000
12 km standard survey12,000 m × ₹24₹2,88,000
150 km regional programme₹36,00,000 less 25% slab₹27,00,000

Discounts work on the whole order: a quarter off when it passes 100 km, 40% off past 500 km and half off past 1,000 km, counted on every metre. GST is added, and mobilisation, night shifts, traffic management or permits, and CAD/GIS drawing sets each carry their own price. The complete slab table sits on our GPR survey price list.

Which survey option fits a Shillong job?

  • Route survey – the standard choice for a new cable, pipe or duct along a road.
  • L-section survey – also plots the depth of every detected service over the route's length, when a tender or designer asks for it.
  • Crossing and bore-path scan – for trenchless crossings under roads or drains; our HDD route survey page explains the method.
  • Road corridor scan – longer stretches of highway or district road ahead of widening or cabling; see road and highway GPR survey.
  • Plot grid scan – utility detection services in Shillong for a building plot or campus before excavation.
  • Cable fault locating – pinpointing a failure on an existing cable, priced as its own job rather than as part of route survey.
  • Trial pits or boreholes – on request, at points where a depth must be proved.

What happens on survey day on a hill road?

The crew begins by walking the stretch with your site engineer, noting chambers, poles, drain inlets and any section blocked by vehicles or works. Traffic arrangements agreed beforehand are put in place by the party responsible for them.

Radar passes then run along the alignment, with cross-lines at intervals and closer spacing at crossings and bends. EM tracing follows metal lines picked up on the radar or visible at chambers. Each confirmed find is marked on the road surface as the crew moves forward, so excavation can follow closely.

At the end of each working day the crew records what was covered and what was not. Heavy rain can halt scanning for safety and data quality, and any lost time is planned for in the agreed programme. The signed report follows once the route is complete. Other seats of government we cover are listed on the state capitals survey hub.

STEP 1

Share route and scope

Send the alignment as KML or a marked plan, its length, the planned work and any crossings already designed.

STEP 2

Receive an itemised quote

The quote shows the metre rate, minimums, mobilisation and any night work or drawing sets as separate lines.

STEP 3

Agree the programme

Season, working hours and permissions are settled with you, since a hill capital needs a plan made for it.

STEP 4

Crew mobilises

Our own crew travels from Faridabad with company-owned GPR systems and EM locators suited to the agreed scope.

STEP 5

Marks and report

Services are marked as the scan progresses, and a signed report follows with coverage and limits clearly stated.

Same rate as the plains

Shillong routes are charged at the national ₹24 per metre; hill terrain does not change the metre rate on our card.

Depth profile on demand

Choose the L-section survey at ₹32 per metre when your designer needs clearances along the whole length of a route.

Combine regional stretches

Adding Guwahati or other north-eastern routes to one order spreads mobilisation and brings the total closer to a slab.

Slab cut on every metre

A 150 km programme drops from ₹36,00,000 to ₹27,00,000 because the 25% slab applies to the full order.

Owned fleet, own crews

No rented radar and no sub-letting means no hidden hire charge or middleman margin tucked into the rate you pay.

Every extra named

Mobilisation, night working, permissions and drawing sets are written as separate items, so nothing surprises you on the invoice.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Shillong

Can you work on Shillong roads that only allow short traffic gaps?

Yes, the programme is built around whatever hours the road can be worked. Where daytime gaps are too short, night working is possible and is quoted separately. Traffic management itself is arranged by the project owner or their contractor, and its cost sits outside our survey rate.

Do you bring all equipment from Faridabad?

Yes. The GPR systems and EM locators used on your job are company-owned and travel with our crew from the Faridabad base. We do not hire local machines or operators, which keeps the method and reporting consistent. The cost of moving crew and equipment appears as mobilisation on the quote.

Can a hillside building plot be scanned instead of a road?

Yes. Plots and campuses are scanned on a grid so services entering from any side are picked up before foundations or new connections. Slopes and retaining walls can limit where the equipment can run, and any part that could not be covered is shown on the plan with the reason.

What paperwork do you need before mobilising?

The route file or site plan, a copy of the work order or scope, any road permissions already granted and the name of a site contact. If the client expects CAD or GIS drawing sets, mention it when you ask for the price, since drawing sets are a separate item.

Will the price change if the route turns out longer?

The rate per metre stays fixed, so the bill follows the length actually surveyed. If extra stretches are added on site, they are charged at the same rate, and if the new total crosses a discount slab, the lower rate then applies to every metre of the order.

Are you linked with MePDCL or the Shillong Municipal Board?

No. Mezux Touch holds no affiliation, approval or empanelment with MePDCL, the Shillong Municipal Board or any other utility or authority. We are engaged directly by contractors, consultants and owners, and our findings are reported only to the client who ordered them.
