Quick answer

Need a GPR survey company in Imphal? We send our salaried crews with company radar and EM locators, sent up from Faridabad, to find what lies under the streets of Manipur's capital: telecom ducts, drains, water mains and power cables alike. The Imphal rate is ₹24 per metre for standard work or ₹32 for an L-section; no order is billed below 4 km, no Manipur project below ₹1,00,000, and the Imphal invoice adds GST.

Rates and page checked:

Survey crew member checking radar readings on a rugged field tablet
Readings are checked on site before a single mark goes on an Imphal road.
Handheld electromagnetic locator tracing a buried conductive cable
EM tracing confirms live distribution cables that radar has already picked up.
Workers hand-digging a shallow trench beside painted utility marks
Hand digging near marked lines is the safe follow-up once the scan is done.
Printed survey report pages with route sketch and findings table
The signed report outlives the paint and stays with the Imphal project file.

Why bring in a GPR survey company in Imphal before excavation?

Digging blind under a city street is a gamble with somebody else's property. One cut through a feeder cable or water main can leave a neighbourhood without supply and stop your own works for days while the owner repairs it. A GPR survey company in Imphal removes most of that guesswork by scanning the planned route first and telling the site team what lies below and roughly how deep.

Ground penetrating radar sends short pulses into the soil and records the echoes that bounce back from objects unlike the surrounding ground. Metal cables, plastic pipes, empty ducts, chambers and voids all produce a response. We pair it with an electromagnetic locator, which follows conductive lines by the signal they carry. Each method covers gaps the other leaves, so the combined result is more dependable than either alone.

The output is practical: coloured marks on the road surface, depth estimates next to them and a signed report that the excavation contractor can keep on file.

Which buried services are usually found under Imphal streets?

Most routes in a state capital carry services from several owners at once. On a typical Imphal scan we expect to record:

  • Power cables – HT and LT distribution lines belonging to MSPDCL, plus street-lighting circuits and earthing.
  • Water supply – trunk mains and the smaller service connections to homes and offices, many of them plastic.
  • Drainage – storm drains, sewer lines, culverts and their chambers.
  • Telecom – copper cables and OFC ducts from more than one operator, often laid at different times.
  • Unknown lines – abandoned or unrecorded services that no owner claims.

Anything we cannot attribute is reported as unidentified rather than guessed. Our cable detection service page explains how power and telecom lines are told apart in the field.

How does valley ground shape a ground penetrating radar survey in Imphal?

Imphal is a valley city, and that matters for radar. Low-lying ground tends to hold moisture, and wet, clayey soil absorbs the radar signal faster than dry, sandy material does. The deeper a service lies in damp ground, the weaker its echo becomes. A ground penetrating radar survey that Imphal engineers can trust therefore states how deep the signal actually reached on each stretch, instead of quoting one number for the whole city.

Three practical consequences follow:

  1. Survey timing can change the result, because a scan after heavy rain usually sees less than the same street scanned in a dry spell.
  2. Shallow services remain easy to pick up even when deeper ones are harder to resolve.
  3. Where a deep line must be proved before design, trial pits or boreholes can be added on request at the points that matter.

Our guide on underground utility survey in Imphal covers the planning side in more detail.

What do Smart City and distribution works mean for a survey here?

Imphal Smart City projects, network work by MSPDCL and fresh telecom routes can all reach the same road within a short period. Each scheme adds a line, and older drawings rarely show what came later. Streets that look simple on paper often turn out to be crowded underground, especially near junctions, markets and government offices.

For that reason we run closer cross-lines wherever recent trenches, new chambers or fresh road patches are visible. Recently backfilled ground is noted in the report, because disturbed soil can blur radar readings. Our smart city underground mapping page describes how layered services are recorded in such streets.

Mezux Touch is not affiliated with MSPDCL, the Imphal Municipal Corporation, Imphal Smart City or any development authority. Records and permissions are obtained by the project owner, and our findings go only to the client who places the order.

How much do GPR scanning services in Imphal cost?

Survey is charged per metre of route. Standard scanning in Imphal costs ₹24 a metre, so ₹24,000 a kilometre. Add an L-section, with its profile of how deep the found services lie along the route, and Imphal work is charged at ₹32 a metre. The bill never covers less than 4 km, and with Imphal outside Delhi NCR, a project cannot be invoiced under ₹1,00,000. GST is added on top.

Sample jobTypeBefore GST
2.5 km office-area roadStandard₹1,00,000 (billed as 4 km, then raised to the project minimum)
6 km cable routeStandard₹1,44,000
6 km cable routeL-section₹1,92,000
120 km statewide fibre programmeStandard, 25% slab₹21,60,000

Imphal programmes that grow large are discounted on all their metres. Past 100 km the cut is a quarter; an order over 500 km is cut by 40%; and over 1,000 km, Manipur work is billed at half. Getting the crew to Manipur, night working, permits and traffic control, and CAD/GIS deliverables are each a line of their own. The full slab chart sits on our GPR survey price list.

How do our crews and radar systems get to Imphal?

All work starts from our office and equipment yard in Faridabad. The 58 GPR systems belong to Mezux Touch, as do the 18 HDD rigs, and the operators are on our payroll; no machine is rented and no Imphal survey is sub-let. With 23 years of this work, our teams have finished upwards of 1.5 lakh km, spread across 28+ States and UTs.

Imphal is a remote capital as seen from Faridabad, so the programme and mobilisation are planned together with each client before any date is fixed. That planning covers how the equipment travels, how long the crew stays, which streets can be worked at which hours and whether other routes in Manipur can share the same trip. Mobilisation appears as its own line on the quote. We do not promise a travel time in advance, because it depends on the plan agreed.

Which survey scopes can an Imphal project order?

  • Route survey – a scan along a planned cable, pipe or duct alignment, with ground marking.
  • L-section survey – the route scan plus a depth profile; see our L-section survey page.
  • OFC route check – focused on telecom duct alignments and their road crossings, described on the OFC route survey page.
  • Plot or campus scan – utility detection services in Imphal for building sites, hospitals, schools and offices before foundations or new connections.
  • Cable fault locating – a separate job from route survey, quoted on its own.
  • Trial pits or boreholes – on request, to confirm a critical depth.

Survey pages for other state and UT capitals, including those in the North East, are listed on our state capitals hub.

TIP 1

Share the alignment early

A KML file or marked drawing with total length lets us size the crew and plan the trip from Faridabad properly.

TIP 2

Avoid the wettest weeks

Deep crossings scanned in a dry spell usually show more, since damp valley soil weakens the returning radar signal.

TIP 3

Collect owner records

Partial layouts from the power, water and telecom owners help the crew decide where to run the tightest scan grid.

TIP 4

Bundle Manipur routes

Grouping several Manipur stretches into one order spreads the mobilisation cost and can move the total into a discount slab.

TIP 5

Dig soon after marking

Paint fades under traffic and rain, so plan excavation to follow the survey closely and keep the signed report handy.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Imphal

Can radar find plastic water pipes in Imphal?

Usually, yes. Radar responds when a plastic line differs from the Imphal soil it lies in, so such pipes often appear even where EM has nothing to follow. Small pipes in very wet Imphal ground are tougher to resolve, and any stretch where our confidence drops is flagged in the report.

Do you scan inside government campuses and hospital compounds?

Yes, when the owner of the premises allows access. Inside a compound we scan on a grid instead of along one line, picking up services that enter from any direction. Pricing still follows the metre rate and the minimums, worked out on the scan lines needed to cover the area.

Who arranges road permissions for the survey?

The project owner or the main contractor arranges permission from the road-owning authority. We fit our programme to the working hours and conditions that come with it. Traffic arrangements and permissions are charged separately from the survey rate.

Is CAD or GIS output included in ₹24 per metre?

No. The metre rate covers the scan, the ground marks and the signed report. CAD or GIS drawing sets can be prepared when an authority or designer asks for them, and they are quoted as a separate item.

Can the survey help locate a cable fault?

Cable fault locating is a different task from route survey. If a fault needs tracing on an Imphal feeder, tell us when you enquire and we will quote it on its own, with equipment suited to the job.

How long is the signed report useful after the survey?

For as long as the street stays unchanged. Any new trench, connection or road work after the survey can add services that the report does not show, so a stretch that has been disturbed since should be rescanned before fresh excavation.
