An electric cable route GPR survey in Bhavnagar maps existing HT and LT cables, pipes and ducts along a planned feeder before trenching or HDD. Our crews pair radar with EM locators, mark each line with rough depth and log every crossing. Rates: ₹24 per metre, ₹32 with L-section; 4 km minimum, ₹1,00,000 project floor, GST extra.

Who needs an electric cable route GPR survey in Bhavnagar?
Anyone about to bury a power cable in a city street, an industrial road or a coastal approach takes on the risk of cutting what is already there. An electric cable route GPR survey in Bhavnagar is ordered mainly by:
- cabling contractors executing overhead-to-underground conversion or new distribution feeders;
- EPC firms bringing HT supply into factories, warehouses or port-side units;
- developers laying internal LT networks across housing or commercial plots;
- consultants who must certify that a proposed alignment is workable before the bill of quantities is fixed.
The task stays narrow: confirm what lies along the line the new cable will take and at each point where it must cross something else. The broader city picture, including plot scans and other survey types, is on our main Bhavnagar GPR survey page.
What does power cable mapping pick up along a Bhavnagar feeder route?
As a power cable mapping company in Bhavnagar, we record every service the new cable is likely to run beside or across, not only other electrical lines. A typical feeder alignment can meet:
- existing 11 kV cables, often in the same road shoulder the new feeder is meant to use;
- LT mains, service cables to houses and shops, and street-light circuits;
- earthing strips and abandoned cable lengths left from earlier work;
- water mains and sewer lines under the Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation's streets;
- telecom ducts and OFC laid along the same road edges;
- process or utility pipelines where the route enters an industrial plot.
Every one gets a surface mark showing rough depth, and the report names the instrument that found it.
How is underground electrical line tracing in Bhavnagar actually done?
Two techniques work side by side, because neither sees everything on its own.
- Passive EM sweep. Locators listen for the field that a loaded power cable gives off. This quickly shows where energised LT and HT lines run, even under a busy surface.
- Active EM tracing. Where a cable or metal pipe can be reached at a pillar, joint or valve, we apply a signal and follow it along the route.
- Radar lines. GPR runs along and across the alignment to catch what EM misses: plastic pipes, ducts, dead cables and chambers.
- Cross-checking. A line seen by both EM and radar is logged as confirmed; a line seen by just one method is logged as probable.
The physics behind those radar reflections is set out in tracing HT/LT cables with GPR. Pinpointing a fault in a damaged cable is outside route survey and carries its own quote.
Which points on a coastal cable alignment need a closer grid?
A straight run along an open shoulder is the easy part. HT cable route mapping in Bhavnagar spends its extra effort on the places where a cable has to change level or squeeze past other services:
- Road crossings and junctions, where several owners' lines converge and depths vary;
- Railway crossings, usually planned as HDD bores, where the radar covers the drill line and the launch and exit pits wherever we can get in;
- Drains, culverts and nalas, which decide whether the cable goes under or over;
- Substation and RMU ends, where outgoing cables crowd together;
- Plant gates and port approaches, often with heavy-duty pipelines and older buried services.
Close to the Gulf of Khambhat, damp or salty ground can shorten radar reach, so the report states achieved depth section by section. Bore planning is covered further on our HDD route survey page.
What will a Bhavnagar electric grid underground survey cost?
Billing follows the length of alignment scanned. The standard cable route survey is charged at ₹24 per metre. Where the work order also wants the depth of every detected service plotted along the route, the L-section rate of ₹32 per metre is used instead; our Bhavnagar L-section page covers that option.
- A 2 km LT link is billed on the 4 km minimum, ₹96,000, which then rises to ₹1,00,000, the floor for projects outside Delhi NCR.
- A 5 km 11 kV feeder works out to ₹1,20,000 standard, or ₹1,60,000 with L-section.
- Feeder packages longer than 100 km earn 25% off all metres; above 500 km the reduction is 40%, and above 1,000 km it is 50%.
GST is extra. Crew travel from Faridabad, night shifts, traffic control, permissions and CAD/GIS drawings never sit inside the metre rate; each is priced on its own line. The complete slab table is on the price list.
Where does PGVCL fit in?
Electricity distribution in Saurashtra and Kutch, Bhavnagar included, is the job of PGVCL – Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd., headquartered in Rajkot. Underground cabling in its area is generally carried out by contractors, and those contractors are the people who book a route survey with us.
We have no affiliation with PGVCL, nor with any other DISCOM, and no empanelment, approval or tie-up of any kind. Our survey is a private service to the client who orders it. How that client's work is checked or accepted by the utility is between the client and the utility. For a wider view of what this kind of survey involves anywhere in India, the national HT/LT cable route service sets out the method and scope.

Pay for metres scanned
The cable route survey costs ₹24 for every metre of alignment, so a 5 km feeder totals ₹1,20,000 before GST.
Profile in the same visit
Adding the L-section at ₹32 a metre during the first mobilisation avoids paying for a second trip from Faridabad.
Bundle feeders into one order
Several Bhavnagar feeders, or routes in nearby districts, can share one mobilisation and one programme to keep travel cost down.
Discount on the full length
Packages past 100 km are billed 25% lower across their entire length, rising to 40% past 500 km and half past 1,000 km.
Owned locators and radar
Every EM locator and GPR system on site is ours, which keeps hire charges and middlemen out of the rate.
No hidden add-ons
Night work, traffic arrangements, permissions, mobilisation and drawing sets are named separately in the quote before work starts.

Questions about HT/LT cable route survey in Bhavnagar
Is it possible to know whether a buried line is HT or LT?
Not always with certainty. Depth, size of the reflection, the EM signal and nearby structures such as RMUs, pillars or joint markers give strong clues, and we state our reading of each line in the report. If the design hinges on knowing for sure, we can open a trial pit there on request and expose the cable.
Do you need a shutdown to trace live cables?
No. Passive EM works on cables that are carrying load, and radar does not touch the cable at all. A shutdown is only relevant if a client wants us to apply a signal directly to a conductor, which is done through the owner's own procedures and permissions.
Can the survey follow the route into a factory or port-side plot?
Yes, when the plot owner gives access. The scan continues past the gate up to the termination point, and plant services met on the way, such as process pipes and earthing grids, are recorded with the rest. Gate passes and site safety inductions need to be arranged before the crew arrives.
Will a recently laid road affect the survey?
Fresh backfill and new surfacing can create reflections of their own and sometimes hide what lies beneath. We note recently disturbed stretches in the report and add cross-lines there. If a road was rebuilt over old services without records, the survey is often the only way to learn what is still under it.
Do you supply the cable or lay it?
This page covers the survey only. Our role is to find and mark what already lies in the ground. Laying the cable, whether by trench or HDD, is a separate scope that would need its own discussion and quote.
How do we share a feeder alignment with you?
A KML or DWG file is ideal, but a marked PDF or a map with the start, end and turning points also works. Include the cable size and voltage, the planned method (trench or HDD) and the crossing points. We use these to plan scan lines and to prepare the quote.
