Underground Utility Mapping in Surat
When a whole street, campus or industrial estate in Surat must be recorded – not just one route cleared – we map every detectable buried service, layer by layer, for designers and asset owners.

Underground utility mapping in Surat builds a layered record of every buried service that radar and EM locating can detect across a street, estate or campus – cables, water and drainage lines, gas pipes, telecom ducts – for design and asset records. Scan lines cost ₹24 a metre, 4 km minimum, ₹1,00,000 per project; CAD/GIS sets and GST extra.

What do you receive from underground utility mapping in Surat?
Route clearance asks whether one new line can go in safely. Mapping asks a broader question: what is under this whole area? Underground utility mapping in Surat covers a road, a junction, a campus or an estate with a grid of radar lines and EM sweeps, then sorts every detected service by type.
The standard output is:
- surface marks for every detected line, colour-coded by utility and annotated with estimated depth;
- a signed survey record listing services by layer – power, water, sewer and drainage, gas, telecom and unknown;
- a note of depth reach achieved in each part of the area, and of zones that could not be scanned.
Where the client needs it, the same data can be turned into CAD drawings or GIS layers, priced separately. Our underground utility mapping service page describes the method in general terms.
Which places in Surat most need a utility map?
Surat has grown fast around the Tapi, and many areas carry services laid by different owners in different decades. Mapping is especially useful in:
- Older central areas around Chowk Bazaar and nearby lanes, where narrow streets hold water, drainage, power and telecom lines with patchy records.
- Textile market and diamond-unit districts, where frequent new connections have added services on top of old ones.
- Smart City and metro corridors. Surat was selected under the national Smart Cities Mission, and with Surat Metro under construction, many roads are being rebuilt and services diverted; a fresh map helps before the next round of work.
- Industrial estates such as Sachin and Pandesara GIDC, and plants towards Hazira, where private pipelines and cables are rarely on any public drawing.
Records usually come from several owners – Surat Municipal Corporation for water and drainage, Torrent Power inside the city and DGVCL outside it, plus telecom and gas operators. Mezux Touch has no affiliation with any of them, Torrent Power, DGVCL and other DISCOMs included. Ground and seasons are covered on our Surat GPR survey page.
Can the mapping follow subsurface utility engineering practice in Surat?
Subsurface utility engineering (SUE) grades utility information by how it was obtained. Our fieldwork supports the levels that most designs need:
- Records review – owner drawings you collect, used to plan where to look.
- Surface features – chambers, valves, markers and poles recorded on site.
- Geophysical designating – positions and approximate depths from GPR and EM; this is the core of our work.
- Exposure – trial pits or boreholes, on request, to confirm a service at critical points.
For subsurface utility engineering in Surat, tell us which level the design team expects at each location. The grading terms are explained in SUE quality levels, and our SUE survey page shows how it fits a project.
Where do 3D utility mapping services in Surat make sense?
Most corridors are mapped with 2D radar lines at set spacing, which is efficient over long distances. In tight spots – a crowded junction, a substation approach, a plant entry or a planned bore pit – a dense 3D or high-resolution grid gives a clearer picture of services that bend, cross or stack. 3D utility mapping services in Surat are most economical when kept to these hotspots, with 2D lines elsewhere. Our article 3D GPR vs 2D line survey explains the choice.
How is utility corridor mapping in Surat done on long roads?
Utility corridor mapping in Surat suits road widening, metro feeder roads and long industrial links. We run continuous lines along the corridor – both edges and, where traffic permits, the carriageway – with cross-lines at every junction and visible chamber. Busy stretches may need traffic arrangements or night working, both billed separately. The output records each service along the corridor so later projects can use the same map. See our utility corridor mapping service.
Can a GIS utility mapping agency in Surat supply CAD and GIS files?
Yes – as an add-on, not as part of the per-metre survey rate. Clients looking for underground utility CAD drawing services in Surat, or a GIS utility mapping agency in Surat for a municipal or campus database, can ask for the survey data to be issued as a CAD drawing set or as GIS layers. Each service is kept on its own layer with its type, estimated depth and detection method, so it can be loaded into the owner's system. We quote these sets separately once the area and layer list are known; the CAD/GIS utility mapping page goes into the options.
How is utility mapping in Surat priced?
Mapping is billed on the total length of scan lines run, at ₹24 per metre. For an area, that means the grid lines needed to cover it; for a corridor, the lines along and across it. A job under 4 km of lines is charged as 4 km, and as Surat is outside Delhi NCR, ₹1,00,000 is the least any project costs. GST is added.
| Mapping job | Scan lines | Before GST |
|---|---|---|
| School or hospital campus | 2 km (billed as 4 km = ₹96,000) | ₹1,00,000 |
| Estate internal roads | 6 km | ₹1,44,000 |
| Road-widening corridor | 40 km | ₹9,60,000 |
| Citywide mapping programme | 1,050 km, 50% slab | ₹1,26,00,000 |
Programme discounts cover the entire length once a threshold is crossed – a quarter off over 100 km, 40% over 500 km, half over 1,000 km. Crew mobilisation, night working, traffic or permit arrangements and CAD/GIS sets are added as their own items. Full rates are on the GPR survey price list.

Get Underground Utility Mapping in Surat at Best Prices
Pay per scan line
Mapping is priced at ₹24 for each metre of radar line, so a 6 km estate grid costs ₹1,44,000 before GST.
Hotspots only in 3D
Dense 3D grids are kept to junctions and pits, while 2D lines cover the rest, keeping total line length down.
Map once, reuse often
A layered record of a road or estate serves later projects, saving repeat surveys on the same ground.
Whole-order slab discount
Citywide programmes over 100 km get 25% off all metres, 40% over 500 km and 50% over 1,000 km.
Owned equipment and crews
Mapping is done with our own GPR systems and in-house operators; nothing is sub-let or rented in.
Drawing sets priced on demand
Pay for CAD drawings or GIS layers only when you need them; they are quoted separately from fieldwork.

Questions about underground utility mapping in Surat
Can you map services inside a housing society before redevelopment?
Yes. Older societies often have undocumented water lines, drains, earthing and private cables. We scan internal roads, open areas and planned foundation zones on a grid, with the society's permission. Billing follows scan-line length at the normal rate and minimums, and the record helps the developer plan demolition and new services safely.
Will the map show services that radar could not identify?
Yes. Any clear buried feature is recorded, even if its type is uncertain, and it is placed on an 'unknown' layer. Designers should treat these as live until proved otherwise, and an important one can be identified with a trial pit on request.
What happens to the map when new works change the street?
It can. After metro diversions, road rebuilding or new connections, we rescan only the changed area and update the record. The rescanned length is billed at the normal metre rate within the usual minimums, and any updated CAD or GIS set is quoted separately.
Are nalas, culverts and chambers recorded on the map?
Yes. Drains, culverts and chambers are recorded from surface features and radar, as they often constrain where new services can go. Very large or deep structures may exceed radar reach in wet ground, and we note where that happens.
Should a Surat road be mapped before it is widened?
It is one of the most common reasons to map. Widening moves the carriageway over services that used to lie under footpaths, and shifting them needs a clear record of what exists. A corridor map early in design lets the road authority and utility owners plan diversions before construction starts.
How much can a designer rely on mapped positions and depths?
Horizontal position from GPR and EM is generally reliable for planning, while depth is an estimate that depends on soil and moisture. Congestion, deep or small services and wet clay reduce confidence. The record states depth reach and confidence for each part of the area, and trial pits can confirm critical points.
