Quick answer

Mezux Touch is a GPR survey company in Porbandar's service area without a local branch: our own crews come from Faridabad with radar and EM locators to map cables, pipes, drains and OFC ducts on coastal and city routes. We charge ₹24 a metre (₹32 with L-section), bill at least 4 km and ₹1,00,000 per project, and add GST.

Our in-house team, not a hired crew, carries out every Porbandar scan.
Cross-section diagram of radar signal weakening in wet saline soil
Salty, damp coastal ground near the sea cuts radar reach, so depth is reported per stretch.
Narrow town street with buried cables and pipes drawn beneath
Older city lanes often carry several generations of services in a narrow strip.
Painted ground marks showing a buried service line on a road
Marks on the surface guide the digging team; the report keeps the permanent record.

Why does a GPR survey company in Porbandar need to plan for coastal ground?

Porbandar sits on the Saurashtra coast, and that location matters more to radar than any street map. Ground close to the sea often holds salty moisture, and saline, wet soil absorbs radar energy quickly. Dry sand behaves very differently, letting the signal travel further. A route that runs from the shoreline inland can therefore move through very different ground in a few hundred metres.

For that reason a GPR survey company in Porbandar should never promise one depth for the whole job. On our reports each section carries the depth the radar actually achieved, and stretches where the picture was weak are flagged. Where a deep service at a key crossing must be proven, trial pits or boreholes can be arranged on request. Our article on soil conditions and GPR limits explains the physics in plain terms.

What can radar and EM locating detect under Porbandar streets?

We combine two methods. Radar picks up changes in the ground caused by a buried object, whether it is metal, plastic or concrete. An electromagnetic locator then follows conductive lines – live cables, metal pipes, armoured telecom cables – and confirms their path. The pairing typically finds:

  • HT and LT power cables, including street-lighting circuits;
  • water mains, service pipes and older metal lines;
  • sewers, storm drains and box culverts;
  • OFC ducts and copper telecom cables;
  • unexplained objects, recorded as unidentified rather than guessed.

Each detected service is marked on the road and listed in a signed report. For pipe-focused work, see our underground pipeline detection page.

Where do port, highway and rail routes need extra care?

Porbandar is a working port, the western end of NH 27, and a railway terminus. Each of those brings its own kind of crossing:

  1. Port and harbour-side land. Port premises have their own access controls. The client arranges entry; we then scan inside the permitted area and record what we find against the route.
  2. Highway crossings. Cable and pipe routes that cross the national highway or main city roads are often planned as bores. We scan the bore path and both pit locations with closer line spacing.
  3. Railway land. Routes near the station yard or the line need railway permission, which is the project owner's responsibility.
  4. Drains and creeks. Culverts and outfalls are recorded so the designer can decide whether to pass above or below them.

Our HDD route survey page describes how a bore path is scanned before drilling. Traffic management and permission work are billed apart from the survey rate.

How are the older parts of Porbandar city surveyed?

The historic core of the city, around Kirti Mandir where Mahatma Gandhi was born, has grown over many decades. Services there have been laid, replaced and diverted by different owners at different times, and records rarely show all of them. Narrow lanes leave little room to move a new line once a clash is found.

In such streets we tighten the scan grid, add cross-lines at every chamber and junction, and note any freshly backfilled trench, because disturbed ground can blur radar readings. Where daytime traffic makes scanning unsafe or slow, night working can be arranged, quoted separately from the metre rate. Utility detection services in Porbandar for a single building plot or compound in the old city follow the same close-grid method.

Heritage surroundings also call for a lighter touch. Our survey itself does not dig, so it leaves nothing behind except paint or pegs, which can be kept small where the frontage owner or local body prefers. Where exposure is unavoidable, we recommend hand-dug trial holes at agreed points rather than machine excavation.

How much does a Porbandar GPR survey cost?

Our rate card has two lines: ₹24 for each metre of standard route survey, and ₹32 for each metre when an L-section depth profile of the detected services is needed. Every order is counted as at least 4 km. Porbandar lies outside Delhi NCR, so a second floor applies as well – no project there is billed below ₹1,00,000. GST is added on top.

RouteSurveyAmount before GST
2 km harbour-side cableStandard₹1,00,000 (4 km = ₹96,000, lifted to the project floor)
6 km city water mainStandard₹1,44,000
6 km city water mainL-section₹1,92,000
100 km coastal programmeStandard₹24,00,000
110 km coastal programmeStandard, 25% off₹19,80,000

Look at the last two rows: past 100 km the 25% discount reaches every metre of a Porbandar order, which is why the longer order ends up cheaper. Beyond 500 km the cut becomes 40%, beyond 1,000 km 50%. Porbandar quotes always list as separate items: mobilisation, night shifts, permission or traffic arrangements, and CAD/GIS drawing sets. Every slab appears in the complete GPR survey price list.

Who carries out the work, and how does the crew get to Porbandar?

The survey is done by our own staff with our own machines. Mezux Touch has 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs, all company-owned, and we do not sub-let work. Teams and equipment travel from our Faridabad base; over 23 years they have completed more than 1.5 lakh km of GPR survey across 28+ States and UTs.

Since Porbandar is a long way from Faridabad, combining it with nearby coastal or Saurashtra work makes sense. Routes in Jamnagar, Veraval or Junagadh can share one mobilisation, and the combined length counts towards a discount slab. The Gujarat hub page shows the other cities in the state we cover.

Electricity distribution here is PGVCL's responsibility; its head office is in Rajkot. Mezux Touch is not affiliated with PGVCL or with any other DISCOM.

TIP 1

Mark coastal stretches

Point out sections close to the shore or creeks, because damp saline ground there limits how deep radar can see.

TIP 2

Start permissions early

Port, railway and highway access usually takes longest, so begin those applications before fixing survey dates with us.

TIP 3

Decide on night work

Busy city streets may be easier to scan at night; tell us early, as night shifts are priced separately.

TIP 4

Count total kilometres

Add up every route you plan around Porbandar and the coast; crossing 100 km cuts the rate on all of it.

TIP 5

Say which outputs you need

Ask up front for an L-section or CAD/GIS drawings, so they are quoted and planned into the same visit.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Porbandar

Can you survey inside the Porbandar port area?

Yes, once the client has arranged entry with the port authority. Port areas have their own safety and access rules, and our crew follows them on site. We scan only within the permitted area and record anything we could not reach because of stacked cargo, fencing or restricted zones.

Does high groundwater near the coast stop a survey?

It does not stop the survey, but it reduces how deep the radar sees. Waterlogged or flooded stretches may have to wait until they dry. The report states the depth reached section by section, and trial pits can be added where a deeper service must be confirmed.

Can scanning be done at night in busy market streets?

Yes. Night shifts are useful where daytime traffic or shoppers make scanning slow or unsafe. They are charged in addition to the metre rate, and any traffic arrangements or permissions needed for night working are also priced separately on the quote.

What if the route in Porbandar is shorter than 4 km?

It is billed as 4 km, which comes to ₹96,000 at the standard rate. Because Porbandar is outside Delhi NCR, the ₹1,00,000 project minimum then lifts the bill to ₹1,00,000, plus GST and any separate items.

Is Mezux Touch a PGVCL contractor?

No. We hold no order, approval, empanelment or tie-up with PGVCL or any other DISCOM. Contractors and consultants working in the PGVCL area can hire us directly, and our findings go only to the client who placed the order.

Can GPR find old metal or cement water pipes?

Usually, yes. Metal pipes give strong radar returns and can often be traced with an EM locator too. Cement and asbestos-cement pipes are non-conductive, so radar alone detects them; size, depth and soil moisture decide how clearly they show. Low-confidence finds are marked as such in the report.
