Quick answer

Need cables, water mains, drains or telecom ducts located before you dig or drill in Junagadh city or district? To trace them, Mezux Touch fields its own Faridabad-based crews and radar units in Junagadh. In Junagadh a standard metre costs ₹24 and an L-section metre ₹32 (plus GST), each Junagadh project billed as if at least 4 km long and, in value, never under ₹1,00,000.

Rates and page checked:

Survey technician checking radar readings on a tablet next to a GPR cart
Doubtful returns in older Junagadh streets are checked on site and given a second pass.
Narrow old-town street with buried service lines drawn beneath the paving
Lanes near Uparkot often hold services laid at different times by different owners.
Soil cross-section showing radar reach changing between stony and moist ground
Stony ground near the hills and damp low-lying patches respond very differently to radar.
Technician tracing a buried cable with a handheld electromagnetic locator
Wherever a metal cable or pipe can be followed, EM tracing backs up the radar.

What does a GPR survey company in Junagadh locate?

Before a trench is cut or a bore is drilled, the contractor needs to know what already lies in that ground. Our work as a GPR survey company in Junagadh is to find it, mark it and put it on record, without breaking the surface.

Two methods are used side by side. Ground penetrating radar picks up cables, pipes, ducts and chambers by the echoes they return, plastic lines included. Electromagnetic locating follows metal cables and pipes, and still works in patches where radar reach is short. Typical finds are:

  • HT and LT power cables, street-light feeds and earthing runs;
  • water mains and house connections;
  • sewers, storm-water drains and culverts;
  • telecom cables and OFC ducts;
  • gas lines and other buried metal pipes.

Each service is marked on the ground in its utility colour and listed in a signed report. For cable-focused work see our underground cable detection service.

Why do Junagadh's old city and hill-side roads need care?

Junagadh sits at the foot of the Girnar hills, and its older core spreads around Uparkot fort. That setting creates two quite different kinds of survey ground within one municipal area.

  • The old city. Streets here are narrow, and many have been dug up repeatedly over the years for water, drainage, power and telecom work. Records from different owners rarely line up, so services may sit closer together, and shallower, than any single drawing suggests. Line spacing is kept tight and every chamber and valve cover is tied into the record.
  • Roads towards the hills. Ground near the foothills can be stony, with rock close to the surface in places. Boulders and rock joints give radar echoes of their own, which a surveyor has to tell apart from a real cable or pipe.
  • The rail line. The railway between Rajkot and Veraval passes through the city, so some routes need to cross or follow railway land, which brings its own permissions and working windows.

Civic works in the city fall under the Junagadh Municipal Corporation, and any road-cutting permission is a matter between the project owner and that body.

Which projects in Junagadh usually need a utility survey?

Utility detection services in Junagadh are normally booked ahead of one of these jobs:

  1. Underground power cabling. Electricity distribution across Saurashtra and Kutch is handled by PGVCL, with its head office in Rajkot. Contractors laying new HT or LT cable need the route checked before trenching or HDD. Mezux Touch has no affiliation with PGVCL or any other DISCOM; we work only for the client who places the order.
  2. Water supply and drainage. New mains, sewer lines and storm drains have to thread between services already in the road.
  3. Telecom ducts. OFC routes along road edges share that space with power and water lines.
  4. Road and junction works. Widening or rebuilding a road often exposes, or damages, services nobody had mapped.
  5. Crossings by HDD. Bores beneath a main road or the rail line need the bore path and both pit areas cleared first; our HDD route survey page explains how.
  6. Plots and campuses. Before foundations or new connections, a site is scanned on a grid rather than along a single line.

How deep can ground penetrating radar see around Junagadh?

No honest survey firm will quote one depth for the whole district. A ground penetrating radar survey that Junagadh engineers can trust has to show, stretch by stretch, how far the signal actually reached.

What governs it is the ground and its moisture. Wet clay soaks up the radar signal, and so does ground carrying salt; dry, sandy soil lets it travel further. On rocky stretches the practical limit is often the rock surface itself rather than the equipment. Fill under an old town road behaves differently again from natural soil outside the built-up area.

So the report records achieved depth for each section and names any length where results were weak. Where a deep line has to be proved before design, trial pits or boreholes can be opened on request. Our guide to GPR survey on Saurashtra and Kutch ground covers the region's rock, clay and saline belts in more detail.

What does a GPR survey in Junagadh cost?

You pay by the metre of route we scan. That is ₹24 for the standard survey, or ₹32 if you take the L-section, which also profiles the depth of every service picked up on the Junagadh alignment. Below that sit two floors. Short jobs are billed as 4 km whatever their real length, and because Junagadh is not in Delhi NCR, the Faridabad crews' trip means ₹1,00,000 is the least any Junagadh project is billed. All figures attract GST on top.

Discounts on a Junagadh order are slab-based and reach every metre: a quarter off when the total exceeds 100 km, 40% when it exceeds 500 km, half when it exceeds 1,000 km. None of the following sits inside those amounts; each takes its own Junagadh quote line: bringing crews from Faridabad, night shifts, traffic permissions or arrangements, and CAD/GIS drawings. Our GPR survey price list carries every slab.

How do crews reach Junagadh, and can nearby towns share one order?

There is no Mezux office in Junagadh. Every job is mobilised from our Faridabad base with equipment we own – 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs in all – and run by our own staff; survey work is never sub-let. Across 1.5 lakh+ km of GPR survey in 28+ States and UTs, long-distance travel to site has become a routine part of the job.

Since the crew travels a long way, it pays to send it once with as much route as possible. Stretches in Junagadh can be combined with work in Rajkot, Veraval or Porbandar, sharing the mobilisation and bringing the order closer to a discount slab. Other Gujarat towns we serve are listed on the Gujarat GPR survey page.

TIP 1

Share the full alignment

Send a KML or marked map covering every Junagadh stretch, including old-city lanes and any roads towards the hills.

TIP 2

Pick drier weeks

Radar usually sees further in dry ground, so scheduling deep crossings outside the monsoon tends to give clearer results.

TIP 3

Gather owner records

Drawings from the municipal corporation, PGVCL and telecom operators show where to scan hardest, even when they are incomplete.

TIP 4

Combine Saurashtra stretches

Adding Rajkot, Veraval or Porbandar routes to the same order shares one trip from Faridabad and builds towards a discount slab.

TIP 5

Read the stated limits

Check the report for depth reached on each section and any length left unscanned before excavation plans are fixed.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Junagadh

Can you scan the narrow lanes around Uparkot?

Yes, wherever the lane is wide enough to walk a radar cart along. Our GPR units are pushed by hand, so scanning does not need vehicle access. Steps, parked two-wheelers and shop extensions can block coverage, and any blocked length is recorded in the report rather than guessed at.

Is Mezux connected with PGVCL?

No. We hold no affiliation, approval or empanelment with PGVCL or any other DISCOM. Contractors, consultants and property owners working in PGVCL's area can order a survey from us like any other client, and the results are reported to whoever placed the order.

Does rocky ground near Girnar stop the radar?

It does not stop it, but it changes what the radar shows. Sound, dry rock lets the signal through reasonably well, while broken rock and boulders scatter it and create echoes that can resemble a service. The surveyor flags uncertain returns, EM locating is used on metal lines, and a trial pit can settle any doubtful point.

Do the 4 km and ₹1,00,000 minimums both apply?

Both are checked, and the higher amount is billed. Four kilometres of standard survey works out to ₹96,000, so a short Junagadh job is raised to the ₹1,00,000 project floor. Four kilometres of L-section already comes to ₹1,28,000, which is above the floor. GST is added in every case.

Can you scan a plot or campus instead of a road?

Yes. For a building plot, school, hospital or factory yard we lay out a grid of scan lines covering the area, then locate and mark cables, water lines and drains before foundations or new connections. The price follows the same metre rate and minimums, based on the scan lines the area needs.

Do you also locate faults in underground cables?

Yes, cable fault locating is a service we offer, but it is a separate task from a route survey and is quoted on its own. A route survey finds where services run; fault locating pinpoints a damaged spot on a known cable so that it can be repaired.
