Quick answer

Looking for a GPR survey company in Bhuj? Mezux Touch sends its own crews and radar from Faridabad to map cables, pipes and ducts under Bhuj streets and Kutch roads. The standard route survey is ₹24 a metre, or ₹32 with an L-section. Orders start at 4 km, projects at ₹1,00,000, and GST is extra.

Rates and page checked:

One cart pass across a Bhuj street can show several services at different depths.
Soil cross-section diagram showing radar signal strength at different depths
Stony fill and natural Kutch soil give the radar very different reach.

Bhuj and Gandhidham stretches can be grouped into one mobilisation.

What does a GPR survey company in Bhuj actually locate?

Ground penetrating radar sends pulses into the ground and records what bounces back. A cable, a pipe wall, a duct bank or an old chamber each return an echo that the operator picks out on screen. As a GPR survey company in Bhuj, we pair that radar with electromagnetic locating, which follows metal lines carrying a signal, so both plastic and metallic services are covered.

On a typical Bhuj route we expect to find:

  • HT and LT power cables, street-light feeds and earthing strips;
  • water mains and house connections, many of them plastic;
  • sewer lines, storm-water drains and culverts;
  • telecom cables and HDPE fibre ducts;
  • abandoned lines and buried foundations left from earlier buildings.

Each find is painted on the ground and entered in a report with its position and estimated depth. Our underground cable detection page explains the locating side in more detail.

How does post-earthquake rebuilding shape surveys in Bhuj?

Much of Bhuj was rebuilt after the 2001 earthquake. For a survey team that has two consequences.

  1. Newer networks in rebuilt areas. Roads, water supply, drainage and power in reconstructed parts of town went in over a fairly short period, so services there may follow more regular alignments than in older lanes.
  2. Hidden rubble and fill. Where demolition rubble or old foundations remain under a road or plot, broken masonry gives radar many small echoes, which can hide a real pipe unless the operator scans closely and checks with EM.

On top of that, more than two decades of additions – new colonies, fibre rollouts, cable replacements – have filled the same verges again. Records from the rebuilding period are a good starting point, but they rarely show what was added later, which is why a field scan comes before any excavation.

How does dry, rocky Kutch ground affect radar reach?

Ground conditions decide how deep radar can see. Kutch is dry for most of the year, and dry ground generally lets the signal travel further than wet clay does. That is helpful.

Rock is a mixed blessing. Where it sits close to the surface, services are usually laid shallow, which radar handles well, but broken stone and boulders scatter the pulse and clutter the image. Salty ground towards the Rann and the coast works the other way, soaking up the signal quickly.

We do not quote one depth figure for Bhuj. Our report states, section by section, how deep the radar actually saw and marks any stretch where results were thin. A ground penetrating radar survey Bhuj engineers can rely on has to show those limits openly. Our guide to GPR survey on Saurashtra and Kutch ground goes further into rock, salt and black cotton soil.

Which Bhuj projects usually need utility detection first?

As the headquarters of Kutch district, Bhuj sees steady public and private works. Utility detection services in Bhuj are commonly needed for:

  • Power distribution work – underground HT and LT cabling, feeder diversions and new connections in PGVCL's area; see our HT/LT cable route survey.
  • Water and drainage – new mains, replacement of old lines and sewer extensions, where plastic pipes make radar essential.
  • Telecom – fibre duct routes along town roads and out towards other Kutch towns.
  • Road widening – finding services before kerbs, drains and medians are moved.
  • Large sites – plots, campuses and the wind and solar projects found across Kutch, where cable runs cross open land.

For bores under roads or drains, the bore path and both pits are scanned as part of an HDD route survey.

What will a GPR survey in Bhuj cost?

Billing follows the length of route scanned. A standard survey is ₹24 for every metre; an L-section survey, which adds a depth profile of detected services along the route, is ₹32 per metre. Jobs under 4 km are charged as 4 km. Because Bhuj is outside Delhi NCR, no project here is billed below ₹1,00,000. GST is added on the total.

Bhuj exampleSurvey typeBefore GST
3 km of town roadStandard₹1,00,000 (4 km = ₹96,000, raised to the project minimum)
6 km cable routeStandard₹1,44,000
12 km cable routeL-section₹3,84,000
120 km inter-town fibre routeStandard, 25% slab₹21,60,000

Larger orders earn a discount on every metre: 25% above 100 km, 40% above 500 km and 50% above 1,000 km. Mobilisation from Faridabad, night-shift working, traffic arrangements and CAD/GIS drawing sets are quoted as separate lines. The full GPR survey price list has more worked cases.

How do crews and radar reach Bhuj from Faridabad?

We have no branch in Kutch. Every Bhuj job is staffed by our own crews, who bring company-owned radar from our Faridabad yard. Mezux Touch owns 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs, and nothing is hired in or sub-let, so the team that scans your route is also the team that writes its report.

Bhuj is a long trip, so it pays to plan one mobilisation for as much work as possible. Stretches in Gandhidham, Morbi or Rajkot can sit in the same order, which spreads the travel cost and can push the total past a discount slab. The Gujarat GPR survey page lists the other towns we serve in the state.

Mezux Touch has no affiliation with PGVCL or any other DISCOM; we work for the contractors, consultants and owners who engage us.

What should you send for a Bhuj quote?

  • Route length, or a KML file or sketch of the alignment;
  • what will be laid – cable, pipe or duct – and the planned depth;
  • known crossings of roads, drains or railway land;
  • whether the work order asks for an L-section;
  • preferred start date and any working-hour limits.

With these details, GPR scanning services in Bhuj can be priced and scheduled without guesswork. Call +91 99100 10209 or write to kumar@mezux.in.

STEP 1

Share the alignment

Send the KML or sketch for your Bhuj route with its length, planned depth and any road or drain crossings.

STEP 2

Fix one trip

We combine Bhuj stretches with any Gandhidham or Rajkot work so the crew drives out from Faridabad once.

STEP 3

Radar and EM passes

Radar lines run across and along the route while EM tracing follows metal cables and pipes on the same stretch.

STEP 4

Paint the finds

Every detected service is marked on the ground by type, so excavation crews can see where to dig carefully.

STEP 5

Report by section

The report lists positions, estimated depths and the radar reach achieved on each stretch of Kutch ground.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Bhuj

Can radar tell rubble fill from a buried pipe in Bhuj?

Usually, with care. Broken masonry gives scattered, irregular echoes, while a pipe or cable produces a clean arch that repeats on neighbouring scan lines along its length. Closer line spacing and EM checks help separate the two. Where doubt remains, the report says so and a trial pit can settle it.

Is the Bhuj survey affected by summer heat?

Heat itself does not change the radar result, and dry ground is generally helpful. It does affect crew working hours, so in peak summer we may start early and stop in the hottest part of the afternoon. That is planned into the programme at quote stage.

Do you work for PGVCL in Bhuj?

No. We have no affiliation with, order from or approval from PGVCL or any other DISCOM. Our clients are contractors, consultants and owners who need buried services found before their work. If a DISCOM contract asks for a survey, the contractor engages us directly.

Can you survey a plot or campus instead of a road?

Yes. On open sites the radar runs as a grid over the area rather than along a single line, and EM sweeps cover the same ground. The output shows every detected service crossing the plot, which suits building, solar or substation layouts. Area work is quoted after we see the site plan.

Is the ₹1,00,000 minimum on top of the metre rate?

No. It is a floor, not an extra charge. If your route's metre total is already above ₹1,00,000, you simply pay the metre total. Only small Bhuj jobs, where 4 km at the standard rate comes to ₹96,000, get lifted up to the minimum.

How long does the report take after scanning?

For most town routes the marked ground is ready as the crew finishes each stretch, and the written report follows soon after fieldwork closes. Longer routes or orders with an L-section take a little more time. The quote gives a delivery date for the report alongside the field schedule.
