Quick answer

Need a GPR survey company in Botad? Mezux Touch covers the district with in-house crews who drive down from Faridabad with radar we own, finding cables, water lines, OFC ducts and pipes under roads, farm tracks and rail-side strips. Rates: ₹24/m standard, ₹32/m with L-section; every order is billed on at least 4 km and ₹1,00,000, plus GST.

Rates and page checked:

Operator walking a wheeled radar unit beside a tarred carriageway
On a Botad road edge, one cart pass logs every service the radar picks up.
Illustration of a cable route running under a railway track
Junction towns like Botad see many routes that must pass below railway land.
Spray-painted lines and arrows on asphalt showing where services lie
Paint marks show the excavator in Botad where each detected line runs.
Printed survey report pages listing detected services and depths
The written report outlives the paint and records what radar could not reach.

What does a GPR survey company in Botad check before digging?

Before a trench is opened or an HDD rig is set up, someone has to answer a simple question: what is already down there? A GPR survey company in Botad answers it by sweeping the route with ground penetrating radar, which records echoes from buried objects, and by tracing conductive lines with an electromagnetic locator.

Typical targets on a Botad job are:

  • 11 kV and LT power cables, including old runs nobody has drawings for;
  • drinking-water lines feeding town wards and nearby villages;
  • drainage pipes, culverts and soak pits;
  • telecom cable and OFC ducts laid along road edges;
  • metal and plastic pipes inside ginning yards and processing units.

Each find is painted on the surface and recorded in a signed report. For power networks in particular, our HT/LT cable route survey page explains how crossings and joints are handled.

What shapes underground work in Botad?

Botad became a separate district in 2013, carved out of parts of Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar districts. A young district headquarters tends to see a burst of new buildings, offices, roads and connections, laid over older services that were planned when the town was part of a larger district.

A few local features matter for anyone digging here:

  • The railway junction. Botad is a rail junction, so cable and pipeline routes often run beside railway land or have to cross under it.
  • Cotton and farm economy. The area is known for cotton and agriculture. Ginning units, market yards and farm feeders bring power and water lines into places that look like open ground.
  • A spread-out district. Talukas such as Gadhada, Barwala and Ranpur mean many routes run between towns rather than inside one.

Electricity in Saurashtra, Botad included, is distributed by PGVCL, the state company with its head office in Rajkot. We are an independent firm and are not affiliated with PGVCL or with any other DISCOM. How the district fits with the rest of the state is set out on our Gujarat survey hub.

How are rail-side and market-area routes scanned?

Different stretches of one Botad route can call for different handling:

  1. Beside the railway. The crew scans the permitted strip continuously and adds tight cross-lines wherever the design shows a crossing. For a bored crossing, both pit locations and the line between them are covered.
  2. Market and town streets. Busy lanes near trading areas usually hold the densest mix of cables and pipes, so line spacing is reduced and chambers are opened for inspection where the owner allows.
  3. Farm and village roads. Services are fewer but less documented. Long continuous passes pick up feeders, irrigation pipes and buried water lines that cross the road at odd angles.

Entry to railway land and any road closure are arranged by the project owner with the relevant authority. Traffic arrangements and permissions are billed separately from the survey rate.

How does Botad ground affect radar depth?

Radar reach is not fixed. It falls in moist clay-rich soil and in ground carrying salt, and improves in dry, sandy or gravelly material. Farmland that has just been irrigated will behave differently from a compacted road shoulder a few metres away.

For that reason we do not promise one depth for the whole district. The report states, section by section, how deep usable signals were obtained and where confidence was low. If a deep line has to be confirmed before a bore is designed, trial pits or boreholes can be added at those points on request. Our article on Saurashtra and Kutch ground discusses regional soils in more detail.

What does a GPR survey in Botad cost?

Charges follow route length. Standard GPR survey is billed at ₹24 for each metre, and an L-section survey – which adds a depth profile of what is detected – at ₹32. The smallest order is 4 km. Because Botad is outside Delhi NCR, any project whose metre total stays under ₹1,00,000 is billed at that amount. GST is extra.

Botad scopeTypeBilled (before GST)
2.5 km feeder roadStandard₹1,00,000 (4 km billed = ₹96,000, so the per-project minimum applies)
6 km rail-side cable routeStandard₹1,44,000
6 km rail-side cable routeL-section₹1,92,000
101 km inter-taluka programmeStandard, 25% slab₹18,18,000 (less than the ₹24,00,000 a 100 km order would cost)

Long programmes get cheaper per metre: cross 100 km and a quarter comes off the entire order, cross 500 km and it is 40% off, cross 1,000 km and the whole order is half price. Not part of the metre rate: mobilisation, work at night, traffic management or permits, and CAD/GIS drawing sets – each is priced separately. All slabs appear on the GPR survey price list.

Which survey options suit a Botad project?

  • Ground penetrating radar survey of a Botad route – where existing services run beside or across your planned line, and roughly how deep, marked on site.
  • L-section survey – that scan plus a depth profile, used where the tender or work order specifies it.
  • Plot or yard scan – a grid over a ginning unit, school campus or new building plot before foundations or connections.
  • Crossing scan – focused coverage of rail, road or drain crossings for an HDD bore; see our HDD route survey page.
  • Cable fault locating – finding the damaged point on a failed cable; this is different work from route survey and is quoted apart.
  • Trial pits or boreholes – dug when you ask, at points where an exact depth or the identity of a line has to be settled.

How do our crews reach Botad, and which towns can be combined?

Crews set out for Botad from our office and equipment yard in Faridabad. The fleet – 58 GPR systems and 18 HDD rigs – belongs to the company and is operated by our own staff, with no hired machines and no sub-letting. Across 23 years the team has logged 1.5 lakh+ km of radar survey in more than 28 States/UTs; on open corridors, running day and night shifts, output has peaked at 100 km a day.

Botad sits between Ahmedabad and the Bhavnagar side of Saurashtra, so it pairs naturally with work in Bhavnagar, Surendranagar or Ahmedabad. Bundling those stretches into one order means a single mobilisation and a better chance of reaching a discount slab.

FAQ

Questions about GPR survey in Botad

Can you survey inside a cotton ginning unit in Botad?

Yes. Inside a ginning or processing yard we scan on a grid, not a single line, to locate power cables, water and drain pipes and any buried tanks before new foundations or connections. Working hours are agreed with the unit, and the yard is billed on the scan length needed under our usual metre rate and minimums.

Do you need railway permission for routes near Botad junction?

Permission is needed for any work on railway land, and it is obtained by the project owner or their contractor, not by us. Once it is granted, we scan within the permitted strip and windows. Routes running beside but outside railway land need only the road owner's consent.

Is the ₹1,00,000 minimum an extra charge?

No. It is the lowest bill for a project outside Delhi NCR. If your metres at ₹24 or ₹32 add up to less, the bill is raised to ₹1,00,000; if they add up to more, you pay the calculated amount. Separate items and GST still apply.

Can radar find irrigation pipes under farm roads?

Usually. Irrigation and drinking-water pipes, plastic ones included, return echoes when their contents or material differ from the soil around them. Small pipes in wet ground are harder to see, so recently irrigated fields can reduce confidence. The report flags such stretches clearly.

Are you linked with PGVCL?

No. Mezux Touch holds no approval, empanelment or contract with PGVCL or any other distribution company. Contractors, consultants, industries and builders working in Botad can engage us directly, and our findings are reported only to the client who places the order.

Can GPR scanning services in Botad be done during the monsoon?

Surveys can run in the rainy season if the route is not waterlogged, but wet soil cuts how deep radar can see. Achieved depth is written into the report for each section. Deep crossings are often best scheduled for drier weeks, while shallow cable routes can usually go ahead.
