Quick answer

Underground utility mapping in Pune records every buried service across a defined area – a campus, industrial plot, township or road network – sorted into power, water, sewer, telecom and gas layers. Mezux Touch scans on a radar grid with EM tracing at ₹24 per metre of scan line; Pune projects carry 4 km and ₹1,00,000 minimums, plus GST.

Rates and page checked:

Stacked map layers separating cables, water pipes and drains
Every service type sits on its own layer for designers to switch on or off.
Mezux survey team with radar carts and safety equipment
The same in-house team scans the grid, checks the data and signs the report.
Layered CAD drawing of buried services across a site plan
DWG drawing sets can be ordered from the survey record as a separate item.
Printed survey report with tables of detected underground services
The signed report grades every find by how it was detected or confirmed.

What do you get from underground utility mapping in Pune?

Underground utility mapping in Pune produces a record of what lies beneath a defined area – a campus, a township, an industrial plot or a length of road – sorted by type of service. A route survey asks whether one new line will fit; a map is meant to be kept and consulted for every later job on that ground. The standard output from our crews is:

  • surface marking of each detected service in its utility colour;
  • a signed report listing every find by layer – power, water, sewer and drainage, telecom, gas and unknown – with position, approximate depth, detection method and confidence;
  • a plain note of the areas left unscanned and the reason.

CAD and GIS drawing sets built from that record are available as a separately quoted item. The general approach is described on our utility mapping service page.

Which Pune sites most need a utility map?

  • IT parks and campuses in areas such as Hinjawadi and Kharadi, where buildings, fibre and power were added in phases and estate teams need one record for future works.
  • Industrial plots in the Pimpri-Chinchwad belt, extended over the years, with services from earlier layouts left in the ground.
  • Roads along Pune Metro corridors, where services were shifted and their new positions should be fixed on record.
  • Old-city lanes, where lines from many periods are layered under narrow streets and old plans survive only in pieces.
  • New townships on the city's edges, where developers want an as-built check before roads are surfaced.

Each of these is mapped on a grid of radar lines rather than along a single line. Our firm has no tie-up with PMC, MSEDCL, Pune Metro or any development authority; we map for the owner, developer or contractor who commissions the work.

Can the work follow subsurface utility engineering practice in Pune?

Yes. Subsurface utility engineering in Pune, as anywhere else, grades each piece of information by how it was obtained. In our report a service can appear as:

  1. taken from existing records only;
  2. detected on site by radar or EM and marked on the ground;
  3. confirmed by a trial pit opened at that point on request.

The grade guides the designer: a line known only from an old plan is treated with more caution than one that has been seen in a pit. Our article on SUE quality levels explains the standard scale and how each level is reached.

When are 3D utility mapping services in Pune worth it?

Most mapping runs on 2D radar lines at a set spacing, which suits roads and open ground. 3D utility mapping services in Pune use a dense grid of closely spaced lines over a small area, so the data can be viewed as depth slices. The extra lines pay off where services cross at odd angles or bunch together:

  • at major junctions carrying several owners' services;
  • around a planned shaft, bore pit or foundation;
  • at plant rooms and substation entries inside campuses.

Because 3D needs more scan length per square metre, it is priced on the lines required at the usual metre rate. Our comparison of 3D GPR and 2D line survey sets out the trade-offs.

How is utility corridor mapping in Pune done on long roads?

For utility corridor mapping in Pune, a road is scanned in continuous lines along both shoulders, and along the carriageway where access allows, with cross-lines at regular gaps and at every chamber, culvert and junction. Findings are sorted into layers so a planner can see, for instance, where water and power share a shoulder and where a lane remains free for a new service. Our utility corridor mapping page covers the method in detail.

Smart city underground mapping in Pune follows the same pattern over a wider network of roads, with the aim of a record the owner can keep adding to as each new work is completed.

Can a GIS utility mapping agency in Pune also supply CAD files?

We can. Clients looking for a GIS utility mapping agency in Pune, or for underground utility CAD drawing services in Pune, can order layered drawing sets built from our survey record – DWG layers for design teams or GIS files for a network database. These sets are quoted separately from the survey rate, so tell us at enquiry stage which format and layer standard you work to. More detail is on our CAD and GIS utility mapping page.

How is utility mapping in Pune priced?

Mapping uses the same rate card as route work: ₹24 per metre of scan line for a standard survey and ₹32 per metre for the L-section survey. A grid needs several lines over each area, so the quote is built from the total scan length the grid requires. Pune orders carry a 4 km minimum length and a ₹1,00,000 minimum per project; GST is extra.

  • Campus needing 7 km of grid lines: ₹1,68,000.
  • Industrial plot needing 2 km of lines: billed as 4 km (₹96,000), then raised to ₹1,00,000.
  • 20 km township road network: ₹4,80,000.

Discounts of 25%, 40% and 50% apply to the whole order beyond 100, 500 and 1,000 km. Crew mobilisation, night working, traffic or permit arrangements and CAD/GIS drawings are priced outside the metre rate. All slabs are listed on the GPR survey price list, and other work in the city is covered on our GPR survey in Pune page.

STEP 1

Define the area

Send a site plan or boundary file and tell us which zones matter most, such as gates, plant rooms or planned foundations.

STEP 2

Agree the layers

We confirm which service types to separate and whether records from owners should be shown as a graded layer.

STEP 3

Scan the grid

Radar lines cover the area at an agreed spacing, with EM tracing of every conductive line we can reach.

STEP 4

Mark and grade

Finds are painted or pegged in utility colours and graded as recorded, detected or pit-confirmed in the field notes.

STEP 5

Issue the record

The signed report lists each service by layer, with unscanned areas shown; drawing sets follow if they were ordered.

Priced on scan length

Your quote is the grid's total line length at ₹24 a metre, so a tighter or looser spacing changes the price in a way you can check.

Map several sites together

Campuses, plots and roads ordered at once share one mobilisation from Faridabad and pass the Pune minimums only once.

Use 3D only where needed

Keep dense 3D grids for junctions and pits and run 2D lines elsewhere, so scan length and cost stay in proportion.

Slabs on large networks

A mapping programme above 100 km is billed 25% lower across every metre, with 40% and 50% cuts beyond 500 and 1,000 km.

Owned systems throughout

No rented radar and no sub-letting, so the rate pays for our own crew and equipment and nothing else.

Drawings only if you want them

CAD and GIS sets are a separate line, so a client who needs only marks and a report pays only for the survey.

FAQ

Questions about utility mapping in Pune

How is a utility map different from a route survey?

A route survey checks one planned line for anything in its way. A utility map covers a whole area on a grid and records every service found, sorted by type, so it can be used for many future jobs on that ground. The two use the same equipment and the same metre rate.

Can you map an occupied campus without disrupting work?

Usually, yes. Radar and EM work from the surface with no digging, and our crew follows the campus's entry and safety rules. Car parks, gate areas and busy roads can be scheduled for quieter hours; night-shift working, if the site wants it, is a separate item.

Can existing records from service owners be added to the map?

Yes. If you hold plans from PMC, MSEDCL or other owners, we can show them as a separate, record-only layer and note where our scan agrees or disagrees with them. Keeping recorded and detected information apart lets the designer judge each line on its own merit.

How often should a campus utility map be updated?

Whenever new services are laid or old ones removed. Instead of mapping the whole site again, the changed areas can be rescanned and added to the record, billed at the usual metre rate. A Pune revisit is still subject to the 4 km and ₹1,00,000 minimums.

Can gas pipelines be shown as their own layer?

Yes. Metallic gas lines can be traced by EM and seen by radar, and plastic gas pipes can usually be picked up by radar alone. They are kept on a separate layer from water and sewer lines so that the excavation team knows exactly where extra care is needed.

Does the site need to be cleared of vehicles before mapping?

It helps a great deal. Parked vehicles, stacked material and skips block scan lines and leave gaps in the map. If an area cannot be cleared, we scan around it and mark the gap in the report, and it can be covered on a later visit.
