HT/LT Cable Route Survey — Pune, Maharashtra
HT/LT Cable Route GPR Survey in Pune
Before a new HT or LT cable goes into a Pune road, our crews trace the live cables, pipes and ducts already in its path and mark a clear alignment, using radar and locators the company owns.

An electric cable route GPR survey in Pune checks the planned path of a new HT or LT cable for power cables, water mains, sewers and fibre ducts before trenching or HDD. Mezux Touch does it with owned radar and EM locators at ₹24 per metre, or ₹32 with an L-section; 4 km and ₹1,00,000 minimums apply, plus GST.

What does an electric cable route GPR survey in Pune check?
A new distribution cable needs a strip of ground with enough room, at a workable depth, all the way from source to load. An electric cable route GPR survey in Pune tests that strip before the trench or bore is committed. Our crew works along the proposed alignment and records:
- existing HT and LT cables, including ones missing from the network owner's plans;
- water mains, sewers and storm drains the new cable has to cross or run beside;
- telecom ducts and older copper cables near the road edge;
- joint pits, chambers and earthing runs close to the route;
- stretches where rock seems to lie near the surface, which affects the choice between trench and HDD.
Findings are marked on the ground and listed in a signed report. The general method is set out on our HT/LT cable route GPR survey service page; this page covers what changes when the route is in Pune.
Why are power cable routes in Pune hard to plan?
Three features of the city decide how much a power cable mapping company in Pune has to look for:
- Shallow basalt. In many parts of Pune, rock sits not far below the road. A cable designed for an ordinary trench depth may meet rock partway along, and boring through it needs other tools and more time. Knowing where the rock surface rises lets the designer adjust depth or method before the contract is let.
- Crowded road shoulders. MSEDCL distribution cables, PMC water and drainage lines and several operators' fibre ducts often share one shoulder. A new HT cable has to find its own lane among them while keeping clearance from each.
- Metro corridors. Along Pune Metro routes, existing services have been shifted and ground near viaduct foundations is restricted. A cable that crosses or runs beside these corridors needs the metro's access approval and a careful scan.

How is underground electrical line tracing in Pune done on a live network?
Most cables near a new route are energised, and the survey works around that without any shutdown. Underground electrical line tracing in Pune combines two methods:
- Electromagnetic locating picks up the field around a loaded cable (passive mode), or a signal we apply to an accessible conductor (active mode), and follows its line along the road.
- GPR sees cables, pipes and ducts whether or not they carry current, which covers plastic water pipes and empty ducts that EM cannot pick up.
Where the two methods agree, confidence is high; where only radar shows a target, the report says so plainly. EM readings also help tell a power cable from a pipe of similar size. Our article on how GPR traces HT/LT cables explains the signals in more detail.
Which crossings on a Pune HT route get a closer scan?
Straight runs along a road edge are covered by continuous radar lines. Crossings get extra passes, because services converge there and because many of them will be bored rather than trenched:
- junctions on arterial roads, where cables and pipes arrive from several directions;
- nalas and storm-water culverts that the cable must pass under or over;
- railway and metro crossings, scanned only on land the project owner has permission to enter;
- entries into substations and ring main unit locations, where earlier cables bunch together.
Where a crossing is to be bored, radar covers the drill line as well as the launch and reception pits. The HDD route survey page describes how the drilling team uses that information.
What does an HT/LT cable route survey in Pune cost?
The price follows route length. Standard survey is ₹24 per metre; when the work order needs a depth profile of detected services, the L-section survey is ₹32 per metre. Because Pune is outside Delhi NCR, the shortest billable length is 4 km and the smallest project bill is ₹1,00,000. GST is charged on top.
- 6 km LT feeder route, standard: ₹1,44,000.
- The same 6 km with an L-section: ₹1,92,000.
- 3 km HT link: billed as 4 km (₹96,000), so the ₹1,00,000 floor applies.
- 110 km cabling programme across the city, standard: 25% off every metre, ₹19,80,000.
Discounts rise to 40% past 500 km and 50% past 1,000 km, always on the whole order. Mobilisation from Faridabad, night shifts, traffic control or permits and any CAD/GIS drawing set are priced on separate lines. Every slab is on the GPR survey price list.
What else can be added to a Pune cable route order?
- L-section – ₹32 per metre for a depth profile along the route; our note on L-section versus standard survey helps you choose.
- Cable fault locating – a separate task from route survey, quoted on its own.
- Trial pits or boreholes – on request, to confirm a depth or rock level at key points.
- CAD or GIS drawing sets – priced separately when the client wants them.

Get HT/LT Cable Route Survey in Pune at Best Prices
Metre rate, not day rate
You pay ₹24 for every metre of alignment scanned, so the cost of a Pune feeder route can be worked out from its length alone.
Profile in the same visit
Order the ₹32 L-section with the route scan and the depth profile is captured without paying for a second trip.
Club HT and LT routes
Several feeders or service links in one order share a mobilisation, and their combined length counts towards the 100 km slab.
Whole-order slabs
Once an order passes 100 km, all of it is billed 25% lower, rising to 40% past 500 km and half past 1,000 km.
Own radar and locators
Every GPR system and EM locator on a Pune job belongs to us, so no hire charge or middleman margin enters the rate.
Separate lines for extras
Mobilisation, night shifts, traffic or permission work and drawing sets are listed apart, keeping the survey price easy to check.

Questions about cable route survey in Pune
Can you survey an HT cable route that ends inside a substation?
Yes, up to wherever the project owner can give us access. Inside a substation yard, work follows the owner's safety and permit rules, and we scan only the areas we are allowed into. Cable entries are usually crowded, so lines are placed closer there and every cable found is noted. We are not affiliated with MSEDCL.
What happens when a Pune cable route meets rock near the surface?
Radar usually shows a clear change where soil gives way to rock, so the report can flag stretches where rock appears shallow. That helps the designer choose between a deeper cut, a shifted alignment or HDD. The exact rock level at a critical point can be confirmed with a borehole or trial pit on request.
Is HT cable route mapping in Pune different from an LT survey?
The method is the same: EM and radar along the alignment, with closer work at crossings. HT routes tend to be longer and cross more main roads, so crossings take a bigger share of the effort. LT routes run nearer to buildings, where house-service cables and water connections crowd the edge.
Do you need the route drawing in a particular format?
No. A KML file, a PDF drawing, an AutoCAD file or a marked map all work. What matters is that the start and end points, crossings and planned HDD stretches are clear. If the route may change during design, mark the alternative too so both can be scanned in one visit.
Can night work be arranged on busy Pune roads?
Yes, where the road owner allows it and the project needs it. Night-shift working is charged separately from the metre rate, and traffic arrangements are a separate item as well. On some arterial roads it is the only practical window, so mention it when you first send the route.
Will the survey tell me how deep to lay the new cable?
It tells you how deep the existing services and, where visible, the rock lie along the route – the information a designer needs to set the new cable's depth. The design depth itself stays the designer's decision. With an L-section, the depth profile of detected services is laid out along the whole route.
