OFC & Telecom Route Survey — Pune, Maharashtra
OFC & Telecom Route GPR Survey in Pune
Finding a free lane for new fibre along crowded Pune road shoulders, and checking every bore under junctions and nalas, with radar systems and survey crews the company employs and owns.

A telecom cable route survey in Pune scans the road shoulder where a new fibre duct will go, locating existing ducts, power cables, water lines and drains, and checks each HDD crossing. The rate is ₹24 a metre, or ₹32 with an L-section; a Pune order is never billed under 4 km or ₹1,00,000, and GST is added.

What does a telecom cable route survey in Pune cover?
Fibre usually goes into a duct along the edge of a road, laid by narrow trench or by HDD, and that edge is exactly where water lines, power cables and older telecom cables already sit. A telecom cable route survey in Pune scans the edge before the duct goes in, so the contractor knows where a clear lane exists and where it does not. On each stretch our crew records:
- fibre ducts and copper telecom cables belonging to other operators;
- MSEDCL power cables, which a new duct must keep clear of;
- water mains, sewers and drains under or beside the shoulder;
- chambers, handholes and manholes that limit where a duct can turn;
- places where rock appears close to the surface.
Our OFC route GPR survey service page explains the general method; the sections below deal with what matters on Pune routes.
How is duct feasibility checked on a Pune road?
Feasibility comes down to one question: is there a continuous strip, wide and deep enough, for the new duct? To answer it in an optical fiber route survey in Pune, we:
- scan both shoulders of the road, not only the side shown in the design, so an alternative is ready if the first side is full;
- add cross-lines at every chamber, culvert and junction where services change direction;
- note where shop ramps, compound walls or parked vehicles stopped the scan, so the gap is visible to the planner;
- flag places where rock seems to rise near the surface, since a shallow trench through basalt is slow going.
The outcome is a stretch-by-stretch picture of free and congested ground, which the designer uses to fix the final duct line and decide which sections are better bored. Our guide to GPR scanning for OFC routing covers the reasoning in more depth.
Trenchless utility survey in Pune: how are HDD crossings scanned?
Many fibre crossings in Pune are made by HDD – under main roads, nalas, rail lines and busy junctions where open cutting would halt traffic. A trenchless utility survey in Pune treats each crossing as a small site of its own:
- Bore path. Radar lines run along and across the planned path to find services the drill head could hit.
- Entry and exit pits. Both pit areas are scanned, because they are dug open and often sit beside other services.
- Ground. Shallow basalt changes the drilling plan. Where radar shows a rock surface, the report notes it so the drilling contractor can plan tooling; a borehole can confirm it on request.
We run 18 HDD rigs of our own besides the GPR fleet, so our crews read a crossing with the drill in mind. HDD route survey services in Pune can be ordered with the duct route or on their own; the method is set out on our HDD route survey page.
Where do metro and municipal works affect a Pune fibre route?
Two kinds of works shape many routes in the city. Along Pune Metro corridors, utilities have been shifted and ground near piers and stations is controlled, so a fibre route beside them needs the metro's access approval and careful scanning around the relocated services. On roads maintained by Pune Municipal Corporation, recently relaid water or drainage lines may not yet appear on any drawing, and freshly backfilled trenches can give confusing radar returns; the report flags such stretches.
Permission from either body is obtained by the project owner. Mezux Touch is not affiliated with Pune Metro, Pune Municipal Corporation, MSEDCL or any telecom operator – we survey for whichever client places the order.
What does an OFC route survey in Pune cost?
Fibre routes are priced like any other route: ₹24 per metre for a standard survey, or ₹32 per metre if the operator wants an L-section depth profile as well. Since Pune lies beyond Delhi NCR, two floors apply – 4 km of billed length and ₹1,00,000 per project – and GST comes on top.
| Fibre job | Survey | Before GST |
|---|---|---|
| 3.5 km campus link | Standard | ₹1,00,000 (4 km = ₹96,000, lifted to the floor) |
| 15 km metro-side duct route | Standard | ₹3,60,000 |
| 15 km metro-side duct route | L-section | ₹4,80,000 |
| 600 km operator programme | Standard, 40% slab | ₹86,40,000 |
Slabs reduce every metre of the order: 25% off past 100 km, 40% past 500 km, 50% past 1,000 km. Crew travel, night-time working, permits or traffic management, and CAD/GIS drawing sets each sit on separate lines of the quote. The full slab table is on our price list.
Who else orders a telecom infrastructure survey in Pune?
Besides operators and their EPC contractors, a telecom infrastructure survey in Pune is often ordered by IT parks and data-centre sites checking where incoming fibre runs, by developers planning duct banks in new townships, and by FTTH contractors laying last-mile cable through housing areas. For water, sewer and power work in the city, see our main GPR survey in Pune page, and for the operator side of this work, our telecom operators sector page.

Get OFC Route Survey in Pune at Best Prices
Same rate for every kilometre
Backbone stretches, campus links and last-mile routes in Pune all bill at ₹24 a metre for the standard scan.
Crossings billed by the metre
HDD bore paths and pit areas are charged at the same metre rate as the rest of the route, measured on the scan length they need.
Batch short FTTH links
Many small links ordered together pass the 4 km and ₹1,00,000 floors once, instead of each link being billed at the minimum.
Big programmes, big cuts
Operator rollouts above 100 km get 25% off the entire order, 40% beyond 500 km and 50% beyond 1,000 km.
No hired radar
We run our own GPR systems and crews, so your Pune price carries no rental fee and no sub-contractor's margin.

Questions about OFC route survey in Pune
Can radar find empty plastic ducts with no cable inside?
Usually, yes. GPR responds to the contrast between the duct and the soil around it, so an empty HDPE duct normally shows up even though EM locating cannot detect it. Small ducts in wet clay or deep under made ground give weaker returns, and such targets carry a lower confidence grade in the report.
Can existing fibre be traced if it has a tracer wire or metal sheath?
Yes. A tracer wire or armoured sheath lets us apply an EM signal at an accessible point and follow the cable along the road with good accuracy. All-dielectric fibre with no tracer can only be found by radar, which picks up the duct rather than the fibre itself.
Do you survey inside IT parks and data-centre campuses?
Yes, under the campus's own entry and safety rules. Inside a site we usually scan on a grid instead of a single line, covering the approaches to buildings, meet-me rooms and gate entries. The scan lines are priced at the normal metre rate and Pune minimums.
Does a narrow-trench fibre route need a different survey?
No, the method is the same, but the result matters even more. A narrow trench is cut shallow and fast along the shoulder, so any service in that layer is likely to be hit. Scanning the full trench line first shows where the cutter must stop and where hand digging is safer.
Can the survey tell me whether a crossing should be bored or cut?
It gives you the facts that decide it: how many services cross the planned line, roughly how deep they lie and whether rock appears near the surface. The choice between HDD and open cut stays with the designer and the road owner, but it can be made on evidence rather than guesswork.
Do you send the findings to the road owner?
The signed report goes to the client who placed the order. Many clients attach it to their permission file or share it with the road owner, and they are free to do so. We do not send findings to any authority or operator on our own.
