HT/LT Cable Route Survey — Jaipur, Rajasthan

HT/LT Cable Route GPR Survey in Jaipur

Before a new feeder or LT network goes into a Jaipur road, we scan the proposed alignment for existing cables, pipes and ducts, mark them on the ground and add depth profiles where the work order asks.

Quick answer

An electric cable route GPR survey in Jaipur checks the path of a planned HT or LT cable for every service already buried along it. Our crews combine radar with EM tracing, mark finds on the road and report positions and depths. Rates: ₹24 per metre, ₹32 with an L-section; minimum 4 km and ₹1,00,000 per project, GST extra.

Rates and page checked:

Ground penetrating radar cart being pushed along a road edge
The radar runs the full length of the proposed feeder trench, edge to edge.
Drawing of power cables fanning out underground from a substation yard
Cable bunches at substation exits are the most crowded part of most Jaipur feeder routes.
Long-section view plotting depths of buried services along a cable path
Where ordered, the L-section shows how deep each crossing service lies along the alignment.
Coloured paint marks on asphalt showing buried cable and pipe positions
Red for power, blue for water: the trenching crew reads the road before digging.

Why order an electric cable route GPR survey in Jaipur before trenching?

A new HT feeder or LT extension usually has to share road space with water mains, sewers, telecom ducts and older power cables. An electric cable route GPR survey in Jaipur finds those services along your planned alignment before the trench or bore is fixed, so that the design can move around them on paper instead of on site.

For a cable route, the work covers:

  • the full trench or bore line, scanned lengthwise and with cross-lines at set gaps;
  • every road, drain and service crossing on the path;
  • proposed joint-bay, pit and termination positions;
  • the exits from substations, feeder pillars and RMUs where the new cable joins the network.

Each find is marked on the ground and recorded in a signed report. The general method is described on our HT/LT cable route GPR survey service page; city-wide context is on the main GPR survey in Jaipur page.

Which parts of a Jaipur feeder route tend to be crowded?

Some stretches of almost every Jaipur cable job need more scan lines and more time than the rest:

  1. Substation and pillar exits. Outgoing cables leave in bunches, often alongside earthing runs and older abandoned cables. Telling one from another takes closely spaced lines and careful EM work.
  2. Walled-city lanes. The old city is a UNESCO World Heritage City, and roads there are narrow and already full of services laid over many decades. Opening a trench in the wrong place is hard to justify, so the alignment has to be right first time.
  3. Metro corridors. Where Jaipur Metro runs, many services were shifted during construction and now sit close to each other along and across its alignment.
  4. Junctions and road crossings. Services from several owners converge at junctions, and a new cable often has to cross all of them.

We plan the programme with these stretches set apart, so open-road lengths are not slowed down by the crowded ones.

How does underground electrical line tracing in Jaipur work on a live network?

Two methods are used together on every power cable route:

  • EM locating picks up the field around conductive lines. In passive mode it detects energised cables; in active mode a transmitter signal is applied to a cable, with the owner's consent, so that a specific line can be followed.
  • Ground penetrating radar detects anything that contrasts with the soil, including plastic water pipes, empty ducts and drains that a locator cannot sense.

Underground electrical line tracing in Jaipur therefore records cables and the non-metallic services around them in one pass of the route. Neither method, though, can reliably separate high-voltage from low-voltage cables on signal strength alone. Size, depth, markers, chambers and network records help, and where the identity of a cable matters to the design we say how it was judged, or recommend a trial pit to confirm it. For the technical background, read GPR tracing of HT and LT cables explained.

When should HT cable route mapping in Jaipur include an L-section?

Plain route survey shows where services are and roughly how deep they lie at measured points. Ordering the L-section version adds a running depth profile of every service detected on the alignment. It earns its place when:

  • the work order or tender for the cable package asks for one;
  • the cable will be bored by HDD and the designer needs depths of services the bore must pass;
  • the route crosses many existing lines and trench depth has to be chosen with care.

HT cable route mapping in Jaipur with that profile costs ₹32 a metre; without it the rate stays at ₹24. Only the stretches marked for it need to be charged at the higher rate. More detail is on the L-section GPR survey page.

Do we work for JVVNL or for the cabling contractor?

JVVNL (Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam) is the distribution company that supplies power in Jaipur. Mezux Touch is not affiliated with JVVNL, the municipal corporations or any other authority, and holds no approval or empanelment with them. We are hired directly by EPC contractors, cabling contractors, consultants and developers who carry out or design underground survey and cabling work on the electric grid.

That means the scope, the deliverables and the reporting format are agreed with you. If your contract with the distribution company specifies how survey findings must be presented, send us that clause, and we will plan the report to match it as far as our methods allow.

What does a cable route survey in Jaipur cost?

Charges are by the metre of route surveyed. Each Jaipur order is counted as no less than 4 km, and since the city is beyond Delhi NCR no project bill can fall below ₹1,00,000. GST is added separately.

Cable jobSurvey typeAmount before GST
3 km LT extension in a colonyL-section₹1,28,000 (counted as 4 km at ₹32)
11 km HT feederStandard₹2,64,000
11 km HT feederL-section₹3,52,000
250 km cabling packageStandard, 25% slab₹45,00,000

A package that crosses 100 km is discounted by a quarter on its entire length; past 500 km the discount becomes 40%, and past 1,000 km it is 50%. None of these figures covers the trip from Faridabad, night shifts, traffic management or permits, or CAD/GIS drawing sets; each is priced on its own line. See the full GPR survey price list for every slab.

What does the cabling crew get at the end?

The handover has three parts. First, the ground marks: each detected service painted or pegged in its utility colour, with depth written beside it where it was measured. Second, the signed report, giving positions against your route, depths, the method that found each line, the depth radar reached on each section and every stretch we could not scan. Third, the L-section profile where it was ordered.

CAD or GIS drawing sets can be added and are quoted separately. Our crews travel from Faridabad with company-owned systems, so re-marking a stretch or locating a fault on a damaged cable can be booked later as its own visit.

STEP 1

Share the alignment

Send the KML or drawing of the cable route, its length, and the substations, pillars and RMUs it connects.

STEP 2

Flag the hard stretches

Mark walled-city lanes, metro-side roads, junctions and any lengths that the work order says need an L-section.

STEP 3

Trace and scan

EM tracing follows conductive lines while radar runs along and across the route to catch plastic pipes and ducts.

STEP 4

Mark the road

Every service found is painted or pegged in its utility colour, with measured depth noted beside the mark.

STEP 5

Hand over records

The signed report and any L-section profile go to your design team, with unscanned stretches stated clearly.

FAQ

Questions about HT/LT cable route survey in Jaipur

Can you find a cable that has been switched off or abandoned?

Usually, yes. A dead cable gives no passive EM signal, but radar still sees it as a buried object, and an active signal can sometimes be applied if a free end is accessible. Abandoned cables are common near substation exits, and the report lists them as found, without guessing at their status.

Can you scan inside a JVVNL substation or RMU compound?

Yes, if the project owner arranges access with the distribution company. Inside a yard we work on a close grid, because cables, earthing and ducts run in every direction. Safety rules of the site apply, and our crew follows the permit conditions issued for that day.

Will the survey help decide joint-bay positions?

It does. Joint bays need a clear patch of ground larger than the trench itself. If you mark the intended bay positions on the route file, we scan a wider area at each one and report whether services cross it, so the bay can be shifted before excavation.

Is a short LT link still billed as 4 km?

Yes. Any order shorter than 4 km is billed as 4 km, and in Jaipur the ₹1,00,000 project floor also applies. A short link is better combined with other routes in the same package, so the minimums are absorbed by real survey length.

Can a power cable mapping company in Jaipur work at night?

We can schedule night shifts where traffic or road permissions make daytime work impractical. Night working is charged separately from the metre rate, and the permission for it comes through the project owner. Ground marks made at night are checked again in daylight before handover.

Do you also lay the cable or drill the bore?

Mezux Touch owns 18 HDD rigs, and HDD work is quoted as a separate service from survey. Many clients order only the survey and use their own contractor for laying. Either way, the survey report is written so any drilling or trenching crew can use it.
