Quick answer

An electric cable route GPR survey in Greater Noida checks the planned HT or LT alignment for every service already buried along it – other cables, water lines, sewers, ducts – so trenches and HDD bores avoid them. Our crews use owned radar and EM locators. Pricing: ₹24 per metre, ₹32 with an L-section, minimum 4 km, GST extra.

Rates and page checked:

Survey crew member reviewing radar scan data on a tablet beside a cart
Radar lines along a planned feeder are checked on screen before the crew moves on.
Diagram of a cable route with a depth profile drawn underneath
An L-section shows how deep each detected service lies along the cable alignment.
Technician walking a cable line with a handheld electromagnetic locator
EM locating follows energised and metal-sheathed cables that cross the new route.
Illustration of a new cable passing under existing pipes and cables
Each point where the new cable meets an existing service gets a closer scan grid.

What does an electric cable route GPR survey in Greater Noida cover?

The survey follows the alignment you intend to use for a new HT or LT cable and records whatever is already under it or crossing it. That includes older power cables, street-light circuits, water mains and service pipes, sewers and storm drains, telecom cables and OFC ducts, and gas lines where present. An electric cable route GPR survey in Greater Noida answers one practical question for the cabling contractor: where can the trench or bore go without hitting something?

On site we work in three passes:

  1. Radar lines run along the alignment, with cross-lines at junctions, chambers, poles and feeder pillars.
  2. Electromagnetic tracing follows conductive lines, which helps separate one cable from another where several run side by side.
  3. Ground marking puts each find on the surface in its utility colour, with an approximate depth written beside it.

A signed report then lists every detection, the depth reached on each stretch and any length we could not scan. For the general method behind this, see our HT/LT cable route GPR survey service.

Where do cable routes in Greater Noida meet the most buried services?

Greater Noida is a planned city laid out by GNIDA, so most sectors have defined road margins where services were meant to go. Planning on paper does not guarantee order underground. Over the years, power, water, telecom and drainage works have been added by different agencies and contractors, and margins that were once empty can now hold several lines at mixed depths.

The stretches that usually need the closest look on a power cable job are:

  • Substation exits, where outgoing feeders bunch together before spreading into sectors.
  • Sector entry points and main junctions, where cables, water lines and ducts converge.
  • Approaches to the Yamuna Expressway and other major roads, where a crossing is often bored.
  • Stretches near the Aqua Line metro, where earlier diversion works may have moved services.
  • Nala and drain crossings, which decide whether the cable goes over or under.

Noida Power Company Ltd (NPCL) is the electricity licensee for Greater Noida. Mezux Touch is not affiliated with NPCL, GNIDA or any other DISCOM or authority; we work for the contractor or owner who orders the survey. A wider view of the city is on our Greater Noida GPR survey page.

How does HT cable route mapping in Greater Noida guide trenching and HDD?

Once the existing services are plotted, the cable designer can make three decisions with evidence rather than guesswork.

  • Open trench or bore. Where a margin is crowded, an HDD bore below the existing lines may be safer than a trench that has to weave between them.
  • Bore depth and pit positions. At road and expressway crossings, we scan the planned bore path and both pit areas, so entry and exit points avoid known services.
  • Small route shifts. Moving the alignment a metre or two to a clearer side of the road often removes several conflicts at once.

HT cable route mapping in Greater Noida is most useful when it is done before the work order freezes the alignment. If the route is already fixed, the survey still tells the site team exactly where to slow down and hand-dig. Our HDD service page describes how a scanned bore path is drilled.

Can underground electrical line tracing in Greater Noida find live cables?

Yes. A cable carrying load gives off a field that an EM locator can follow without any connection, and where we can safely connect a signal to a metal sheath or conductor, tracing becomes more precise. Radar adds what EM cannot see: plastic pipes, non-metallic ducts and voids.

There are limits, and the report states them. Cables laid tightly in a bunch may appear as one wide target. Very deep or small lines in wet ground can fade from the radar picture. Where one depth matters to the design, we can open a trial pit or borehole at that point on request. Our article on how GPR traces HT and LT cables explains what a radargram shows for each cable type.

Standard route survey or L-section – which does the work order need?

A standard survey marks positions and approximate depths of the services found. Order the L-section version and the same pass of the radar also yields a depth profile of every service along the feeder alignment – something certain cabling work orders require. That option costs ₹32 rather than ₹24 a metre and is done on the same site visit. If the tender wording is unclear, send it to us and we will tell you which one it calls for. Details are on our L-section GPR survey page.

What does an electric grid underground survey in Greater Noida cost?

Cable route work is charged by length. Greater Noida falls inside Delhi NCR, so the only floor is a 4 km minimum length; there is no ₹1,00,000 project minimum here. GST is extra.

Cable jobSurveyBefore GST
2.5 km LT extension to a new sector blockStandard₹96,000 (4 km minimum)
6 km 11 kV feederL-section₹1,92,000
15 km feeder networkStandard₹3,60,000

Big Greater Noida cabling orders are discounted as a whole. Cross 100 km and each metre is a quarter cheaper; cross 500 km and 40% comes off; cross 1,000 km and you pay half. The quote shows crew travel from Faridabad, night working, traffic arrangements with permissions, and CAD/GIS drawing work as individual items. Our price list shows all slabs.

STEP 1

Share the cable alignment

Send the KML or single-line route drawing, the cable voltage, total length and any crossings the design already shows.

STEP 2

Confirm scope and access

We agree standard or L-section, list substation and expressway crossings, and note stretches where the road owner restricts hours.

STEP 3

Scan and trace

Radar lines run along the alignment while EM locators follow energised and metal-sheathed cables crossing it.

STEP 4

Mark the conflicts

Each existing service is marked on the ground in its colour, with approximate depth, so the cabling crew sees it.

STEP 5

Issue the report

A signed report lists detections, depth reached per stretch and unscanned lengths, plus the depth profile if ordered.

FAQ

Questions about cable route survey in Greater Noida

Do you work for NPCL directly?

No. Mezux Touch has no affiliation, empanelment or approval with NPCL or any other DISCOM. Cabling contractors, consultants and plot owners order the survey from us, and the findings are reported to whoever placed the order. If the licensee needs the report as part of your submission, you can pass it on.

Can you survey a route that crosses the Yamuna Expressway?

Yes, where the project owner has the necessary permission to work at the crossing. We scan the bore path and both pit areas as far as access allows, with closer line spacing than on the open stretches. Permissions and traffic arrangements are arranged by the owner and charged outside our metre rate.

Will the survey show the exact depth of an existing cable?

It gives an approximate depth at measured points. Accuracy depends on soil, moisture and how the cable sits in the ground. Where one depth decides a bore or trench design, a trial pit or borehole at that spot confirms it, and we can arrange that on request.

Can the survey help after a cable has failed?

Route survey and fault locating are separate jobs. If a cable has already failed, cable fault locating finds the damaged point; we offer that as its own service. A route survey is for planning new cable work around existing services. Both can be quoted together if you need them.

Do you supply drawings for the cable route?

Every Greater Noida cable job ends with marks painted on the ground and a report we sign. If the contractor's client wants the detected cables and pipes drawn up in CAD or GIS, we can prepare that set too, charged in addition to what the metres cost. Name the drawing format your client works in when you request a quote.

Can LT service cables inside a housing sector be surveyed?

Yes. Inside a sector we scan the internal roads and margins where LT cables, street-light circuits and water lines run, and mark them before new connections or trenching. The usual metre rate and 4 km minimum apply, and several internal roads can be combined to reach that length.
