HT/LT Cable Route Survey — Ghaziabad, UP
HT/LT Cable Route GPR Survey in Ghaziabad
Before a new feeder or LT circuit goes into Ghaziabad ground, we trace the cables, pipes and ducts already sitting on that line, using company-owned radar and EM locators run by our own crews.

An electric cable route GPR survey in Ghaziabad checks the line of a planned HT or LT cable for existing power cables, water mains, sewers and telecom ducts before trenching or HDD. Mezux Touch does it with radar plus EM locating at ₹24 per metre, or ₹32 with an L-section. Inside NCR the only minimum is 4 km; GST extra.

Which services does an electric cable route GPR survey in Ghaziabad look for?
Think of it as clearing a corridor on paper before a single shovel goes in: the planned cable has an alignment, and we establish what already occupies that band of ground. For an electric cable route GPR survey in Ghaziabad, we scan the full trench or bore line plus a working margin on each side, so the cabling contractor can shift the route where it is congested.
Along that strip we look for:
- existing HT feeders and LT distribution cables, old runs that may have been abandoned included;
- street-light circuits and earthing conductors;
- water supply lines, sewers and storm drains;
- telecom cables and fibre ducts;
- chambers, joint bays and old foundations that would block a trench or a drill head.
The output is ground marking in utility colours and a signed report listing each find with its position and approximate depth. This page deals only with power cable routes; the wider picture of survey work in the district is on our Ghaziabad GPR survey page, and the method in general is described under HT/LT cable route GPR survey.
Where do power cable routes in Ghaziabad run into congestion?
Some stretches are predictable trouble. When we plan a feeder survey here, these get closer line spacing from the start:
- Substation exits. Several outgoing circuits leave in parallel, often with older cables beside newer ones, and spacing between them can be tight.
- Township main roads. In high-rise areas each builder brought supply up to its own boundary, so footpaths can carry cables from several phases of development.
- Sahibabad industrial roads. Factory supplies, private HT connections and old process lines share the road edges.
- Corridor crossings. Where a cable has to pass the Delhi–Meerut Expressway or the RRTS alignment, the crossing is usually bored, and the bore path and both pits need scanning.
- Hindon crossings. Cables carried across the river by bridge or bore meet embankments and wetter ground near the approaches.
Knowing these spots in advance lets us price the extra passes into the quote rather than discovering them mid-route.
How is HT cable route mapping in Ghaziabad done on site?
- Route check. We overlay the proposed alignment on the ground, note chambers, poles, feeder pillars and transformer locations, and agree the scan margin.
- EM sweep. A locator is run in passive mode to pick up live cables, then with a signal applied wherever an access point allows, which is the most reliable form of underground electrical line tracing in Ghaziabad streets.
- Radar lines. GPR passes run along the route with cross-lines at intervals and at every junction, catching plastic pipes and ducts the locator cannot sense.
- Crossing passes. Each planned road, corridor or drain crossing is scanned on a closer grid across its full width.
- Marking and report. Finds are painted or pegged on the surface, and the report records what was found, the depth reached on each section and any stretch we could not access.
Radar depth depends on soil and moisture. Wet clay cuts reach, dry sandy ground extends it, and the report says which applied where.
When should a Ghaziabad cable survey include an L-section?
An L-section survey adds a depth profile of the detected services along the cable route, charged at ₹32 a metre instead of ₹24. It is worth ordering when the work order asks for one, when a new cable must pass under or over existing services at known depths, or when a bore needs a clear vertical gap at each crossing.
It does not have to cover the whole route. Many contractors take the profile only at congested stretches and crossings, with standard scanning elsewhere. More detail is on our L-section GPR survey page.
What does a cable route survey in Ghaziabad cost?
Pricing follows the metre, with Delhi NCR terms: a 4 km minimum length and no per-project minimum. GST is charged on top.
| Cable job | How it is billed | Before GST |
|---|---|---|
| 3 km LT re-cabling | Standard, raised to 4 km | ₹96,000 |
| 9 km HT feeder | Standard throughout | ₹2,16,000 |
| 9 km HT feeder | 7 km standard + 2 km L-section | ₹2,32,000 |
| 9 km HT feeder | L-section throughout | ₹2,88,000 |
A multi-feeder programme that passes 100 km in one order is discounted by 25% on every metre, rising to 40% past 500 km and 50% past 1,000 km. Mobilisation, night-shift work, traffic or permission arrangements and CAD/GIS drawing sets are quoted as separate items. See the price list for every slab.
Who orders power cable surveys in the PVVNL area?
PVVNL is the distribution company for Ghaziabad, and much of the cabling here is executed by contractors on its network or by developers building their own internal supply. Mezux Touch is not affiliated with PVVNL or any other DISCOM, municipal body or development authority; we act only for the client who places the order.
Our usual clients are EPC and cabling contractors, consultants preparing designs, and developers or plant owners laying private HT connections. As a power cable mapping company in Ghaziabad with owned radar and in-house crews, we can plan around a contractor's trenching sequence; see GPR survey for EPC contractors and our note on HT/LT cable mapping for NCR DISCOM work.

₹24 a metre for routes
A standard scan of a Ghaziabad feeder line is charged per metre, so a 9 km route comes to ₹2,16,000 before GST.
Depth profile by stretch
Order the ₹32 L-section for crossings and congested lengths only, while the rest of the feeder stays on standard pricing.
Short jobs billed fairly
Routes under 4 km are billed as 4 km, and no extra project minimum is charged inside Delhi NCR.
Bundle feeders together
Several feeders or LT circuits in one order share mobilisation and reach the 100 km slab sooner, cutting every metre by 25%.
Locators and radar owned
Our GPR systems and EM locators are company property, so no equipment hire is buried in the rate.
Separate items shown clearly
Mobilisation, night shifts, traffic or permission arrangements and CAD/GIS drawings appear as individual lines, never hidden inside the metre price.

Questions about cable route surveys in Ghaziabad
Is it possible to distinguish HT from LT cables on the scan?
Often, but not with certainty from radar alone. Depth, size, position relative to substations and feeder pillars, and EM signal strength usually point to the type. Where it matters for the design, the report says which finds are inferred and a trial pit can confirm the cable on request.
Will you trace cables that are not carrying current?
Yes, where we can reach them. A dead cable gives no passive EM field, so we apply a signal at an accessible end or rely on radar. Radar responds to the cable's presence, not its current, so abandoned runs often show up and are recorded as possible disused lines.
Does a cable route survey include fault locating?
No. Fault locating on an existing cable is a separate task with different equipment and method. We do it, but it is quoted on its own. A route survey is about clearing the line for a new cable, not finding a fault in an old one.
How wide a strip do you scan along the cable route?
Enough to give the contractor room to move the line. We agree the margin at the start, usually covering the trench and some ground on each side, and widen it at junctions and crossings. The scanned width is stated in the report so nobody assumes coverage beyond it.
Can you survey along a footpath with heavy pedestrian traffic?
Yes. Radar carts and locators are compact and do not block a footpath for long. On market roads or busy frontages we may suggest early-morning or night working; night shifts and any traffic arrangement are quoted separately from the per-metre rate.
Do you provide the cable route as a CAD drawing?
We can, as a separately quoted item. The standard output is surface marking and a signed report with positions and depths. If the contractor or utility asks for a CAD or GIS drawing of the existing services along the route, tell us at enquiry stage so it is priced in.
