Quick answer

An electric cable route GPR survey in Gurugram locates existing HT and LT cables, plus pipes and ducts, along the line of a planned feeder before digging or boring. Mezux Touch runs it with its own radar and EM locators from Faridabad at ₹24 a metre, or ₹32 with an L-section; billing starts at 4 km, GST extra.

Rates and page checked:

Depth profile drawing showing buried cables along a planned route
An L-section shows where existing cables rise or dip along the new feeder line.
Survey team with radar equipment working at a roadside site
Our own crew, not a hired team, walks every metre of the cable alignment.
Illustration of cables leaving a substation under an access road
Cable exits near substations are where buried power lines bunch most tightly.
Diagram of a cable route passing beneath a busy road crossing
Arterial and highway crossings get closer scan lines than open verges.

What does an electric cable route GPR survey in Gurugram cover?

The job is narrow and specific: find every buried service on the line where a new HT or LT cable will go, so the cable gang or HDD crew does not hit it. An electric cable route GPR survey in Gurugram from us covers:

  • radar lines along the full alignment, on the verge or carriageway where the feeder is planned;
  • EM tracing of existing power cables, street-light circuits and earthing conductors;
  • extra cross-lines at junctions, plot entries, transformer and RMU locations;
  • paint or peg marks for each find, with approximate depth noted beside it;
  • a signed report listing what was found, how deep the radar could see on each stretch and where access was blocked.

Water mains, sewers and telecom ducts on the same line are recorded too, because a cable trench meets them as often as it meets other cables. The general method is set out on our HT/LT cable route GPR survey service page; this page deals only with cable routes in Gurugram. For every other kind of survey in the city, see the main Gurugram GPR survey page.

Where do power cables usually run under Gurugram roads?

Electricity here is distributed by DHBVN, and its underground network shares road space with cables laid by developers inside licensed colonies, many of which were later connected to or taken over by the utility. The result is a mix of cable generations and owners on the same stretch. Typical locations we check:

  • Sector road verges. HT feeders often run along one side of the main sector roads, with LT distribution peeling off towards each block.
  • Tower and plot connections. Group housing towers, offices and malls take dedicated cables from the road into their own substations.
  • Old village abadi edges. Where planned sectors meet older settlements, cables tend to follow narrower lanes with less predictable depth.
  • Industrial belts. Udyog Vihar and IMT Manesar carry heavier industrial supply with many individual plot feeders.

Mezux Touch is not affiliated with DHBVN or any other distribution company. We survey for the contractor, consultant or owner who places the order, and the report belongs to them.

How is HT cable route mapping in Gurugram handled at major crossings?

Most of the risk on a Gurugram feeder sits at a handful of crossings rather than along the open verge. HT cable route mapping in Gurugram therefore treats each crossing as its own small survey:

  1. NH-48. The Delhi–Jaipur highway carries heavy traffic and is controlled by NHAI, so cable crossings are normally trenchless. We scan the bore alignment and both pit areas as far as access allows.
  2. Metro alignments. The Delhi Metro Yellow Line and the Rapid Metro run above parts of the city; their pier foundations and associated services limit where a cable can pass, so the scan covers a wider band near them.
  3. Arterial roads. Golf Course Road and Sohna Road junctions collect cables, ducts and pipes from several directions, so cross-lines are run closer together there.

Working on any of these needs the road owner's permission, which the project owner arranges. Traffic arrangements, permissions and night-shift working are all charged in addition to the metre rate. If the crossing will be bored, our crews also run HDD rigs, so the drilling can follow straight from the survey.

Can underground electrical line tracing in Gurugram tell cables apart?

Partly, and the report says how far it goes. Underground electrical line tracing in Gurugram combines two methods because neither is enough alone:

  • EM locating picks up conductive lines, either from the current they already carry or from a signal we apply where a cable end is reachable. It follows a single cable well, even in a crowded verge.
  • GPR sees cables, plastic ducts, pipes and voids alike, whether they carry current or not, and gives an approximate depth.

Used together, they usually separate a live power cable from a fibre duct or a water main lying beside it. What neither method can do reliably is read voltage or ownership from the ground surface, so an 11 kV cable and an LT cable of similar size may look alike. Where that distinction matters for the design, a trial pit at the chosen point settles it, quoted on request. Our article on how GPR traces HT and LT cables explains the radar side in more depth.

When does a Gurugram feeder route need an L-section?

Only when the work order or the client's specification asks for one. An L-section survey adds a depth profile of the services we detect along the route, so the designer can see where the new cable has to go deeper or rise to clear them. It is ordered at ₹32 a metre instead of ₹24 and captured in the same site visit. More detail is on the L-section GPR survey page.

What does a power cable mapping company in Gurugram charge?

As a power cable mapping company in Gurugram working inside Delhi NCR, we apply a single minimum: 4 km per order. There is no ₹1,00,000 project floor here. GST is extra.

Cable routeSurveyBefore GST
3 km LT extensionStandard, billed as 4 km₹96,000
5 km HT feederStandard at ₹24/m₹1,20,000
5 km HT feederL-section at ₹32/m₹1,60,000
110 km cabling packageStandard, 25% slab₹19,80,000

Once an order passes 100 km, every metre is 25% cheaper; above 500 km the reduction is 40%, and above 1,000 km it is 50%. Mobilisation from Faridabad, night working, traffic arrangements and CAD/GIS drawing sets are separate lines on the quote.

How does a survey fit into an electric grid undergrounding project in Gurugram?

Where overhead lines are being moved underground or a new underground network is being built, the cable contractor usually has many short routes spread across sectors. Grouping them into one electric grid underground survey in Gurugram helps in three ways: the crew mobilises once, the combined length may reach a discount slab, and the reports follow one format across the whole package. Send all routes together, mark which ones need an L-section, and we will return a single quote and programme. We do not claim any role in DHBVN's own programmes; we work only for the party that orders the survey.

STEP 1

Share the feeder line

Send the KML or route drawing, cable type, laying method and any NH-48, metro or arterial crossings on it.

STEP 2

Fix scope and quote

We confirm standard or L-section survey, list the separate items such as night work, and send a written quote.

STEP 3

Trace existing cables

Radar lines run along the alignment while EM locating follows each conductive line through crowded verges and junctions.

STEP 4

Mark finds for the gang

Each detected cable, duct or pipe is painted or pegged with its approximate depth before cable laying begins.

STEP 5

Hand over the report

A signed report lists every find, depth reached per section, blocked stretches and the profile when an L-section was ordered.

FAQ

Questions about HT/LT cable route survey in Gurugram

Can you trace a cable that is not shown on any drawing?

Usually, yes. Radar responds to the cable itself, and EM locating can follow it if it carries current or a signal can be applied. Unrecorded developer cables are common in older Gurugram colonies, so we expect to find them. Small or very deep cables in wet ground are harder, and the report flags low-confidence finds.

Do you survey for DHBVN cabling tenders?

We survey for contractors and consultants who need route information, whatever their end client. We are not empanelled with or affiliated to DHBVN, and we cannot tell you a tender's requirements. Check the survey clause of your work order, then order standard or L-section survey to match it.

Is the survey useful if the new cable will be bored, not trenched?

It matters even more. An HDD crew cannot see what lies ahead of the drill head, so the bore path and pit areas must be scanned beforehand. Our report shows what the bore must avoid, and our own HDD rigs can carry out the crossing if you want one firm for both.

Can you find a fault on an existing HT cable?

Yes, but cable fault locating is a separate task from route survey and is priced on its own. Tell us the cable type, approximate length and where it can be accessed. If you need the route traced as well as the fault found, we quote both parts together.

How close together are cables usually found in Gurugram verges?

It varies widely. On some open sector roads only one or two cables share the verge; near substations, tower entries and junctions several cables, ducts and pipes may sit within a narrow strip. The survey shows the actual spacing on your route so the new cable can be placed with room to spare.

Do you need the existing cables switched off?

No. Radar and EM locating are non-intrusive and work on live cables. In fact, current flowing in a cable often helps EM locating pick it up. Nothing is disconnected or opened during the survey; trial pits, if ordered, are a separate step done with care.
