Quick answer

A telecom cable route survey in Greater Noida tells an OFC contractor where a duct can run and where an HDD bore can pass without striking power cables, water lines or older ducts. We scan with owned GPR systems and EM locators, then mark and report. Rates: ₹24 a metre, or ₹32 with L-section; 4 km minimum; GST extra.

What does a telecom cable route survey in Greater Noida check?

Before a fibre duct is laid, the contractor needs to know three things about the planned route: what is already buried there, how much clear space is left, and where a bore can cross safely. A telecom cable route survey in Greater Noida answers those questions with radar and electromagnetic locating along the full length.

The survey records:

  • existing telecom cables and ducts, including those of other operators;
  • power cables, street-light circuits and earthing runs;
  • water mains, service pipes, sewers and storm drains;
  • chambers, handholes and covers seen on the surface, tied to what lies between them;
  • stretches where radar could not see clearly, with the reason stated.

Findings are marked on the ground in utility colours and set out in a signed report. The general scope of this work is on our OFC route GPR survey service page.

Why do fibre routes in planned Greater Noida sectors still need a scan?

Greater Noida's road network was laid out by GNIDA with margins reserved for services, which helps. Over time, though, those margins have taken power cables from NPCL, the electricity licensee, water and drainage lines, and ducts from more than one telecom operator, each laid at its own depth and often recorded separately. Where an optical fiber route survey in Greater Noida finds trouble, it is usually because a margin that looks empty on a drawing is already full on one side.

Points that commonly slow a duct job here:

  • sector roads where older and newer ducts run close together;
  • campus frontages in the Knowledge Park area, where institutional connections branch off the main road;
  • approaches to the Yamuna Expressway, which a backbone route may need to cross by bore;
  • roads near the Aqua Line metro, where services may have been shifted during construction.

Mezux Touch is not affiliated with GNIDA, NPCL, any telecom operator or any other authority; we are engaged by the contractor or owner. For the city as a whole, see our Greater Noida GPR survey page.

How is duct feasibility judged along a Greater Noida road?

Feasibility is about space, not just the presence of services. From the scan we look at each stretch and ask whether the new duct fits, and where:

  1. Which side of the road has the clearer margin, stretch by stretch.
  2. What depth band is free between shallow services and deeper mains, so the duct can be laid at a sensible cover.
  3. Where chambers can sit without landing on an existing line.
  4. Where the route must switch sides, which usually means a road crossing.

One limit is worth stating plainly: radar can show that a duct exists, but not whether it is occupied or which operator owns it. Ownership and spare capacity come from records and the owners themselves. Our guide to GPR scanning for OFC routing covers how scan findings turn into a duct alignment.

Trenchless utility survey in Greater Noida: how are bore crossings checked?

Many fibre routes cross major roads by HDD to avoid cutting the carriageway. For a trenchless utility survey in Greater Noida, we scan along the planned bore path and around both pit areas, with lines closer together than on the open stretches. The aim is to show the drilling team the depth band that is free of known services and the services they must stay clear of.

Where the bore path cannot be fully scanned – a median with restricted access, for example – the report says so, and a trial pit at a critical point can be dug on request. Our HDD route survey services are described on the HDD route survey page. We also own 18 HDD rigs, though the survey and the drilling are quoted as separate jobs.

Does an OFC route in Greater Noida need an L-section?

Only when the work order asks for one. A standard survey marks where services are and their approximate depth. An L-section survey does the same scan and adds a depth profile of the detected services along the duct route, at ₹32 per metre instead of ₹24. Some operators and main contractors require it for design approval; many FTTH spurs do not. If the requirement is unclear, send us the clause and we will advise.

What does an OFC route survey in Greater Noida cost?

The survey is priced by the metre. Because Greater Noida is within Delhi NCR, a 4 km minimum length is the only floor, and the ₹1,00,000 project minimum used outside the NCR does not apply. GST is charged on top.

Fibre jobSurveyBefore GST
3.5 km FTTH spurStandard₹96,000 (charged as 4 km)
8 km duct route needing design approvalL-section₹2,56,000
25 km city ringStandard₹6,00,000
110 km backbone packageStandard, 25% off every metre₹19,80,000

Whole-order discounts start above 100 km (25%), rise above 500 km (40%) and reach 50% above 1,000 km. Mobilisation, night-shift work, traffic arrangements or permissions and CAD/GIS drawing sets are never inside the metre rate; they are quoted as their own items. All slabs are on our GPR survey price list.

TIP 1

Mark chambers on the route

Show planned chamber and handhole positions on the KML, so we scan each location closely before civil work starts.

TIP 2

List every bore crossing

Note expressway, main road and nala crossings planned for HDD, with rough pit positions, so bore paths get tighter scan grids.

TIP 3

Gather operator records

Duct records from other operators and NPCL cable drawings help us read crowded margins, even when they are incomplete.

TIP 4

Plan restricted hours

Tell us where the road owner allows only night working, since night shifts are priced separately from the metre rate.

TIP 5

Combine spurs into one order

Bundling FTTH spurs with a ring or backbone route reaches the 4 km minimum easily and moves totals towards discount slabs.

FAQ

Questions about OFC route survey in Greater Noida

Can GPR tell whether an existing duct is empty?

No. Radar shows that a duct or pipe is present and roughly how deep it lies, but it cannot see whether the duct carries fibre or who owns it. Occupancy and ownership come from operator records or the owners themselves. The survey tells you where the duct is so you can plan around it.

Do you survey for FTTH work inside housing sectors?

Yes. Internal sector roads and society entrances are scanned for power cables, water lines and existing ducts before FTTH ducts or micro-trenches go in. Short spurs can be combined in one order to reach the 4 km minimum, and the usual metre rate applies.

Can you drill the HDD crossings as well as survey them?

We own 18 HDD rigs and do HDD work, but drilling is a separate service from survey and is quoted on its own. Many clients order only the survey and use their own drilling contractor, who then works from our marked bore paths and report.

Will the survey cover the expressway crossing itself?

Where the project owner has permission for us to work at the crossing, we scan the bore path and both pit areas as far as access allows. Any stretch we cannot reach, such as a closed median, is noted in the report so the drilling team knows where confidence is lower.

Are you appointed by any telecom operator in Greater Noida?

No. Mezux Touch is not appointed by, empanelled with or affiliated with any telecom operator, NPCL or GNIDA. Operators, EPC contractors and their sub-contractors order surveys from us like any other client. Our report goes to whoever places the order.

Can the survey results go into our network GIS?

Yes, if you order CAD or GIS drawing sets. These are prepared from the survey findings in the format you specify and quoted separately from the per-metre rate. The standard deliverable is ground marking plus a signed report.
