DGPS Survey — Noida
DGPS Survey in Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Belt
Centimetre positions and sea-level heights for plots, layouts and corridors under all three Gautam Buddh Nagar authorities.
Quick AnswerOur DGPS survey in Noida places corners, layout pegs and corridor control within 1–2 cm by pairing a stationary base with a roving receiver. Results come on your project grid or on WGS-84 / UTM Zone 43N. Noida’s open, flat sectors suit satellite work; the care goes into heights, because drainage here depends on centimetres. Because our surveyor for Gautam Buddh Nagar lives locally, the base goes up on the day you say yes, or the following working day. Read more under DGPS survey for Noida sites.
What comes out of a DGPS survey in Noida?
A DGPS survey in Noida hands back every corner, peg and route mark with a position and a height to the centimetre. A stationary base and a walking rover take the readings, which are issued as a coordinate schedule, CAD plan and KMZ. Horizontal accuracy is 1–2 cm and vertical 2–3 cm with a good fix. DGPS means differential global positioning system. A lone GPS receiver, the kind behind everyday satellite based positioning, can drift by metres as GPS signals bend through the ionosphere. Our base station occupies a point of known value and measures that drift at every epoch. The rover applies the same correction, and that is the core of how DGPS works. India also runs ground based reference stations, yet on Noida's open sectors our own reference station a few hundred metres off sees the same satellites under the same sky. Our Mezux guide: DGPS full form explains the idea in more depth.
Noida's sectors are mostly open and flat, with wide roads, which suits satellite work. The real care on this ground goes into heights.
Three authorities, one coordinate system
Land across Gautam Buddh Nagar is planned by three development authorities, and we bring each job onto one consistent coordinate system so that layouts from different bodies can be compared. Noida Authority (set up in 1976) covers Noida itself and the Greater Noida authority (1991) covers Greater Noida. YEIDA (2001) covers the belt along the Yamuna Expressway, including the airport project area at Jewar. Most plots in all three are allotted on lease by the authority, with dimensions and areas given in the allotment papers.
Older layout drawings often carry only dimensions, while newer projects may be on a project grid. Our default output is WGS-84 on UTM Zone 43N; share the control values of your own grid and we will convert to it.
Why do heights need extra care on flat Noida land?
Satellite heights refer to an ellipsoid, not to sea level, and across the flat Yamuna–Hindon doab a couple of centimetres settle which way rainwater will flow. The difference between the two references, the geoid separation, has to be applied, and the result tied to a level of known value wherever the design needs true levels.
A drain with a fall of 1 in 500 drops only 2 cm every 10 m, which is about the size of the DGPS vertical error. For drains, flat roofs or basement ramps we therefore add an auto level run through the key points. If the job calls for a complete level grid and contours, read what you receive from a topographic survey in Noida.
A day on a Noida site
Most plots under five acres take one field day, in five stages.
- Papers and purpose: allotment or lease plan, layout, and what the result is for.
- Base set-up: on a secure, open point; for important control we log a static session.
- Rover work: corners, road edges, pillars, gates and any listed features.
- Covered points: anything shaded by trees or tower blocks is shot by total station off our satellite marks (prices: what a total station survey in Noida costs).
- Checks and drawing: re-observed sample points, then the CAD drawing within three working days.
How is control laid for long Noida corridors?
In pairs, at intervals, observed by static sessions so the whole route shares one set of values. A drain, service road or pipeline along the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway may be split between several design teams and contractors. If each team fixes its own control, the sections fail to meet at the joins. We set intervisible pairs of marked points along the route, log both receivers together for a static session, process the network in the office and issue one control schedule. Each pair lets a total station crew orient itself later, even where a flyover or tree line blocks the sky.
DGPS survey in Noida: facts and figures
Everything you need to compare quotes, side by side.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Precision | 1–2 cm in plan, 2–3 cm in height |
| Grid | Project grid if supplied, else WGS-84 / UTM Zone 43N |
| Receivers | Four base-and-rover pairs, owned not rented |
| Start | Day of go-ahead, or the next working day |
| Drawing | Three working days after the field day, normally |
| Files | DWG, PDF, KMZ, plus Excel / CSV coordinates |
Table note: over the Hindon, terms and team stay identical, as when you need a DGPS survey in Ghaziabad shows.
DGPS rates for Noida sites
Plots by area, routes by the control point, GST extra.
- Plot up to 1 acre: from ₹12,000
- 1–5 acres: ₹2,500 per acre, minimum ₹12,000
- Route control points: ₹3,000 per point
The DGPS survey cost per acre drops as the land grows: a 3-acre industrial plot is charged the ₹12,000 minimum and a 5-acre parcel comes to ₹12,500. A service road needing 12 control points comes to ₹36,000. Any mobilisation/travel cost, if applicable, is printed in the written quote, and you pay exactly what that quote says.
Which Noida jobs come up most?
Industrial plots, group housing layouts, farmland along the expressway, and control for linear works. Factory owners in Sector 63, Sector 80 and the industrial Phases 1–3 tend to call us ahead of a sale or a new bay. In Greater Noida, the Ecotech areas bring similar work. Farmland in villages along the Yamuna Expressway needs parcels placed on the ground, and linear jobs such as drains and service roads need a chain of control points. Close to the river, the water table is high; where excavation is planned too, read about GPR survey in Noida to see how saturated soil changes a radar scan. Frequently asked questions
Will you compare the plot with its lease plan?
Yes. That is boundary work, handled by our land surveyor in Noida team using the same equipment.
Does a DGPS survey count as official demarcation?
No. Official demarcation is a revenue process. Our article with the demarcation survey Delhi explained sets out the general steps.
Does winter fog stop DGPS work?
No. Satellite signals pass through fog; the limits are visibility for the crew and safety on roads, not the receivers.
Can you work inside a gated society?
Yes, with the society’s permission and gate passes arranged in advance.
Can you give levels above mean sea level?
Yes. We apply the geoid separation and tie to a known level where one is available, and say on the drawing which reference was used.
What about plots next to high-rise towers?
Tall blocks can reflect signals, so near them we take longer observations, re-check points and use a total station where needed.
