Quick AnswerA topographic survey in Noida maps spot heights, contours and built features, so plinth, road and drain design can rest on real numbers. Ground across Noida's sectors may look level, yet it seldom is. On the Yamuna–Hindon plain a plot may fall only a few tens of centimetres end to end, so we level closely and tie heights to a known datum. Learn about our topographic survey for Noida sites.

Flat-looking plot: why commission a topographic survey in Noida at all?

A plot that seems dead level often drops a few tens of centimetres, and that fall decides whether storm water runs off or pools at the basement ramp. A topographic survey in Noida pins down the small fall and every feature near it. Noida and Greater Noida lie on the Yamuna–Hindon plain, where natural slopes are gentle and the groundwater can be close to the surface near either river.

The requests vary with the project. A group housing developer needs ground levels to fix basement and podium heights. A warehouse owner in an Ecotech area wants yard falls that keep trucks out of puddles, while a school or hospital campus needs both, plus levels at every road connection.

A designer takes three things from it: the high and low parts of the site, how they compare with the road and sector drain, and what already stands there.

How do you read a spot-level grid?

Each dot is a measured height; comparing neighbouring dots tells you the direction and steepness of the fall. In the sketch, levels drop about 10 cm for every 40 m from west to east. Over the full 120 m that is 0.30 m, a gradient of roughly 1 in 400. That is enough to drain a paved yard if the outlet sits on the low side.

Illustration: twelve spot levels on a 40 m grid show a steady fall of about 0.30 m over 120 m (1 in 400) towards the drain outlet; contours are drawn from points like these.

On land this flat, contour lines at 0.25 m spacing can sit far apart, and the spot levels often tell the story better than the lines. That is why our Noida drawings always carry both.

Riverside land and built-up sectors: what changes?

Near the rivers the concern is low ground and water; in the built sectors it is roads that have been raised over the years.

  • Land towards the Yamuna and Hindon: low-lying pockets, seasonal standing water and a high water table. We record the lowest points, any bunds and the levels of nearby embankment or road tops so the design can compare them with flood information from the relevant department.
  • Established Noida sectors: repeated resurfacing can leave old plinths at or below road level. We pick up the road crown, kerb and gate levels for every frontage.
  • Greater Noida and along the Yamuna Expressway: wide tracts of former farmland and freshly planned sectors. The brief is a level grid plus cross-sections along roads still to be built.

Buried pipework or cabling calls for an underground utility survey, carried out by ground penetrating radar. Damp riverside soil cuts its penetration, a point covered in GPR survey in Noida at a glance.

What do we pick up on a Noida site?

Ground, structures and everything the new design must connect to or avoid. If any column heading is unfamiliar, see: what is a topographical survey.

Table note: the scope is the same east of the Hindon, which matches topographic survey in Ghaziabad by Mezux Touch.

Which instruments and checks do we use?

Satellite receivers fix the framework, a total station picks up the features, and any height a drain relies on is run by auto level. A GNSS height on its own may be off by 2–3 cm, and on ground falling 1 in 400 that error swallows a big slice of the available slope. On Noida jobs the GNSS receivers set the framework, as our note on getting a DGPS survey in Noida done right describes. Features are then collected with one of our 6 total stations, a job outlined on our page total station survey in Noida for your site. Every levelling loop must close inside ±2.5 mm per km before we accept the data.

Receiver heights are turned into mean-sea-level values and then compared with any benchmark of known value we can find on or close to the plot. The drawing states which reference was used, so the architect and the drain designer do not end up working on two different datums. The same benchmark later carries through to the contractor's construction layouts.

Level and contour survey rates in Noida

By area, with a per-km rate for road strips; GST extra.

  • Up to 1 acre: ₹15,000 (minimum charge)
  • 1–10 acres: ₹4,000 per acre
  • Above 10 acres: ₹2,500 for each acre over 10
  • Road or route strip: ₹15,000 per km

A 5-acre group housing plot comes to ₹20,000; a 2.5 km internal road to ₹37,500. Where a mobilisation or travel cost applies, the written quote shows it. You pay the figure on our written quote, nothing more.

How long does it take?

Field crews finish a few-acre plot in one day, and the finished drawing is issued inside three working days. Because a team member lives in the Noida area, work in Noida or Greater Noida starts the same day or within 1 working day of your go-ahead. Larger parcels along the expressway are planned in stages, with each block issued as it is finished. Once the plot is clear for us, request a site visit for Noida; we will then confirm a day.

Frequently asked questions

Will the drawing mark my legal boundary?

It shows walls and fences as built, ready for a site plan. To compare it with your allotment letter or revenue record, it is a Private Land Surveyor in Noida you need.

Can you tell me the flood level for my site?

No; flood levels come from the authority or irrigation records. We give accurate ground levels so your designer can compare them.

Can work go ahead in the rains?

Yes, between heavy spells. Standing water hides the true ground, so we may wait a day or two after a downpour.

What height datum do you use?

Mean-sea-level heights, obtained by applying the geoid separation to GNSS values, unless you give us a benchmark to tie into.

What if a neighbour disputes the boundary?

Boundary disputes need a boundary survey and, in the end, official demarcation; for how that works, read Land Demarcation Survey in Delhi NCR.

Can you give levels relative to the road?

Yes. Every drawing shows road crown and kerb levels along the frontage, so plinth heights can be set against them.
