Quick AnswerThe DGPS machine price in India for a survey-grade base and rover set is about ₹4.5–8.5 lakh on current listings, with upper-end kits at ₹10–15 lakh. Handheld sub-metre units cost ₹1.5–2.1 lakh but cannot give centimetre accuracy. Unless you survey around fifty plots a year, hiring a crew costs less; see DGPS survey rates and method.

What is the DGPS machine price in India in 2026?

A new survey-grade DGPS machine is listed in India at roughly ₹4.5 lakh to ₹8.5 lakh, with some sets at ₹10–15 lakh. That buys a base receiver plus a rover with controller and radio, together working as a differential global positioning system. Handheld sub-metre receivers sold under the same name cost ₹1.5–2.1 lakh, but they are not centimetre instruments.

We checked current marketplace listings in November 2026 to see the real DGPS price in India. On the IndiaMART differential GPS category page, base-and-rover sets ranged from ₹3.8 lakh for a sub-metre kit to ₹15 lakh. The common asking prices were ₹4.6 lakh, ₹5.3 lakh, ₹6 lakh and ₹8 lakh1. A rover alone was ₹3.4 lakh, and the dearest single receiver asked ₹25 lakh.

Listings rarely say whether GST is included, so ask. Sellers also use "DGPS" loosely for any satellite based positioning device, from a sub-metre GIS handheld to a dual-frequency RTK kit. A DGPS price means nothing until you know which one is offered.

What exactly do you get for the money?

A working set of DGPS survey equipment has six or seven parts, and a low headline price often leaves one out. Check the quotation against this list:

  • Base receiver on a known point, acting as the reference station, plus the rover carried to each corner.
  • Controller with survey software on a licence that does not expire after a trial.
  • UHF radio or mobile modem for the correction stream from the base station.
  • Tripod, tribrach and range pole, cheap but easily forgotten.
  • Office software for static sessions and coordinate conversion, with batteries, cases and a calibration certificate.

The physics of how DGPS works with two receivers is in our article on what the letters mean (a short guide on DGPS full form). The gap between a phone fix and a corrected one is covered in a comparison piece (see: GPS vs DGPS). For approximate field areas only, a phone or handheld may be enough, and the dearer kit is wasted.

Prices are asking prices on public listings in November 2026, not quotations; brands and models are left out on purpose. To see how a hired crew turns this equipment into a finished plot drawing, read about DGPS survey in Faridabad by Mezux Touch.

Should you buy used or rent a DGPS survey instrument?

Used sets sell cheaply for a reason, and bare equipment rental is rarely priced in public; most "rent" offers are survey services with an operator.

An older GPS receiver may track fewer global positioning system signals and constellations and GPS signals, which hurts in built-up areas. Batteries fade, and controller software may be locked to the first owner. Ask for a test session on a known point before paying, and compare the coordinates with the published value.

Per-day prices for the instrument alone were scarce. Service pricing does appear, with one listing charging ₹12,000 a day for DGPS survey work2. A university facility charges ₹1,000–2,000 per point depending on whether it is already known3. The market mostly sells the outcome, not the box.

When does buying beat hiring a survey crew?

On equipment cost alone, a ₹6 lakh set pays for itself after about 50 one-acre plots at ₹12,000 each. Add a surveyor's salary, software and upkeep, and the break-even point moves well beyond that.

Fifty plots is many for a builder or factory owner who needs a boundary survey every year or two. For a survey firm or a township developer, it is few. The answer depends on volume:

  • One to ten jobs a year: hire, because the set sits idle and the person trained on it may leave.
  • Steady weekly work with a trained surveyor: buying starts to make sense, more so with one base shared across two rovers.
  • Jobs under trees or inside buildings: a total station is also needed, and read Total Station Price in India sets out that side of the sum.

What does a DGPS set cost to run after you buy it?

The purchase is the first cheque, not the last. Several running costs never appear on a seller's price list:

  • A trained surveyor who sets the base correctly, chooses RTK or static mode and spots a bad fix; that skill takes months and leaves with the person.
  • Processing and CAD time, with a licence and someone to use it.
  • Servicing of drifting tribrachs, bent poles and tired batteries, plus any network correction subscription paid in idle months.
  • Travel and idle days: a set in Faridabad does not help a job in Patna unless someone takes it there.

What does a DGPS survey cost if you hire Mezux Touch?

A plot up to 1 acre starts from ₹12,000, and plots of 1–5 acres are charged ₹2,500 per acre with a ₹12,000 minimum. Control points along a route cost ₹3,000 per point, all exclusive of GST. The figure covers field work and the drawing, and a written quotation fixes the final amount.

Four company-owned base-and-rover sets let us field a crew anywhere in Delhi NCR on the day of booking or within 1 working day. Beyond NCR, a team member resident in that city takes the DGPS survey machine out immediately or within 1 working day. The quote names any mobilisation/travel cost that applies. You receive an Excel or CSV coordinate list, a DWG and PDF drawing and, where useful, a KMZ, within about three working days of the visit.

Comparing costs nothing: share the plot location and papers and start a survey enquiry for your project. We will give the hire price, and if your volume justifies buying, we will say so.

Frequently asked questions

Is DGPS the same as an RTK GNSS receiver?

In Indian trade listings the terms overlap, and a survey-grade 'DGPS' set is normally a dual-frequency RTK base and rover. A cheaper sub-metre handheld also gets called DGPS, so always check the stated accuracy.

Can I use a phone instead of a DGPS machine for my plot?

For a rough area, yes. For a boundary that a buyer, bank or court will rely on, no. A phone fix can be several metres out, while a corrected survey is within a couple of centimetres.

Do I need my own base if I buy a rover?

Not always, because a rover can take corrections from ground based reference stations by subscription where mobile data is reliable. On remote sites, or where the network is patchy, your own base with a radio is safer.

How long does a DGPS set last?

Receivers often work for many years, but software support, batteries and the signals tracked decide how useful an older set stays.

Is a GPR machine priced the same way?

No, ground radar is a separate class of equipment with its own price bands and skills; read GPR Machine Price in India for that comparison.

What does hiring Mezux Touch include?

Crew, instruments, processing and the drawing are included. Plots up to 1 acre start from ₹12,000, GST extra, with coordinates in Excel or CSV and a DWG and PDF drawing.
